this is what happens when i sew cute shirts.

i guess i have some folding to do.
i could have the kids do it…
but cuddling up in a blanket and watching a movie
while folding laundry on this cold rainy day sounds good to me.

Jill - I HATE LAUNDRY!!!!!!!!!! Whew… now I feel better for getting that out. Thanks for sharing your pile. My hubby calls ours the “clothes glacier” and it gets on my last nerve. πŸ™‚ ~Jill πŸ™‚

Maricriss - Now I don’t feel so bad when I see my pile of unfolded laundry at home:-)

Hannah - Welcome to my life…

Deputy's Wife - Thank you for posting this picture. I really needed to see that.
See, it makes me feel a little bit better. Only a little bit because my pile is dirty.

Shannon Davis - I think my brother needs to buy you a front load washer and dryer to cut your laundry time in half! Todd got me one when we moved and I love it — the dryer steams the wrinkles out of the clothes too!!

liz - i’m so glad i’m not the only one that has a mountain of laundry! my mom always tells me to fold it as it comes out of the dryer. . .

Art Cant Hurt - Ahhhh, yes! LAUNDRY LOITERING!
Good times…good times.
πŸ™‚

PamperingBeki - Bahaha!!!
If only I could blog (hop) and fold laundry at the same time, I’d be one happy girl and my kids would be wearing clean clothes!!

cynthia - it doesn’t take long for it to pile up, does it?
happy folding!

Amanda - Whoa. You are brave and far more WILLING then I! Once I let my laundry pile up that hile then I complain and moan about having to take care of it. So kudos to you for not doing that! πŸ™‚
God bless-
Amanda

Diana Cornielle - Oh my gosh! I thought we had clothes piled up!!! I hate folding clothes! lol. But I guess watching a movie and folding isn’t too bad! Good luck…lol.

traci - I think a larger family would be great til I see their laundry..lol
Your a sweeeeet mom, even with my family of four even if Im sweet enough to wash and dry they MUST sort and put away their own laundry.

Deb - Looks like my house most of the time. Lol.

traci - holy cow meg. that’s a lot of clothes. are ya done yet?

julie - Three things I wish:
It was cold and rainy.
I sewed those cute shirts (loving the cheapo Geranimals)
Laundry could do itself.

carissa - and could you iamgine if we had to do the whole clothes line thing too… oh… thank you LORD for modern convenience!
happy folding…
happy friday…
brew some more coffee…

Julie K. - So, THAT’S how to make folding laundry bearable … I cannot get mine folded … but folding during a movie … that’s a good idea. Now if it weren’t for my curious toddler maybe the laundry would STAY folded!

chris - Oh that pile gives me anxiety, I hate doing laundry , I don’t know how you manage all that, you could totally justify a house keeper with all that laundry to do, I have only two kids and I can’t keep up on it .
I bow down to you .

Leah - Holy Cow…thank the Lord for washers and dryers. Could you imagine if you had to wash all that by hand!

emily - i have the same amount of laundry at my house too . . . except mine hasn’t been washed yet . . . and i don’t have cute little shirts as an excuse!

MGF - Keepin’ it real……..
Hope that movie is not too distracting

Christy - That reminds me of that Samsung commercial (I think) with the ball of laundry. Holy schmoly!
I must say though those tees were pretty darned cute & worth every minute of post-poned laundry!

Gwyn - This is how it looks right now at my house too…..

foreverfoldinglaundry - It looks just like my house, except I haven’t made any cute shirts lately! What’s my excuse?!? =)

Kameron - Wow, I would tread lightly. You don’t know what may be hiding under that pile! Unfortunately that’s what my dirty clothes pile looks like right now… Darn work, the weekends are supposed to be for relaxing not for doing everything I can’t get to during the week!

regina - Holy Crap!!! I wish you much luck w/your folding!!!! Have a happy Friday!!

Rachel - WT???? You have to fold all that? Wow…I guess you will be busy during the movie…how long is it 1.5…2 hours?
I would help if I was there…I dread folding clothes by myself but when someone helps me it’s funner (I know it’s not a word) because we can laugh and talk…that is why I always rope my hubby into helping when it gets piled up.

danyele - wow…that looks like my house all the time it seems! and because of you (not really, but you should still feel bad), i sewed last night on some shirts and got no housework done. so, now, you must come to my house and do the laundry too…that only seems fair!

Beth - That’s awesome! I am soo glad I am not the only one. Today, I am tackling the pile that needs to be heavily stain treated. God speed!

Brenis - HAHAHAHA!!!! That happens at my house too!! I can’t figure out why the laundry fairies don’t want to visit my house?!? πŸ˜›
Good luck gettin it done today! πŸ™‚ Loving all your recent pictures!

loving preschool (again)

everyone knows how much i love annie's preschool….because i tell everyone.

i wished i'd had my camera on monday.
today i turned the car around half way through to go back to get it.

IMG_7922

they have each brought a pumpkin.
working on properties like smooth, bumpy, heavy, light, big, little, etc.
and next week they decorate them.
i can't wait to see that.

IMG_7936

they have journals….which is the most adorable thing!
seeing them all sit at the tables and "write" is precious.
they all love to show you what is inside.
annie likes to write letters or her name and very scribble-y swirly people.
are they not the cutest little books?!

IMG_7930

knocking down a paper that's hanging off the ceiling is hilarious.
every time.
it's a no brainer.

IMG_7932

and time for a snack at the preschool diner (that apparently has free wi-fi).

i made it to the door and said
"goodbye annie. have a great day!  do you need a hug?"
micah was closer so he grabbed me first.
then annie latched on.
eliza saw and wanted in on the fun.
gracie came running in giggling.
and mckenna squeezed around the other side.
they were just laughing and group hugging.
i was feeling the love.

they did it again one more time and then eliza's eyes got big
and she said "let's go hug MY mom!"
great idea.

Jeanetta - HAHA!! Love it

Ashlie - I love all these pictures! What a neat idea to let preschoolers “journal!” And the group hug…AWWWWW! It’s so good that you can send Annie to school and know that she’ll be in a wonderful atmosphere doing fun things!

Ashley - Those are great. It is beyond me how you have time to make all those cute shirts in the previous post and keep up with kids…that amazing craft room of yours must help! I am going to try the hash brown soup you made this weekend!

Deb - VERY sweet.

robin bird - “meg you are sweet. you have such a distinctive way of ‘speaking’ i would know your ‘voice’ anywhere :)”
this is what i wrote to you in an e-mail after your comment on my i wanna travel post..but it kept winging it’s way back to me as undeliverable. go figure. so i just decided to ‘deliver it’ per above. i went on to say a couple of other things but we can leave it at this.
and amazingly enough i would say the same thing about this post. you have your own voice and it is so very you! meg-a-lovable πŸ™‚
xo

carissa - preschool RULES!
that peek inside is so fun!
i love all the colors in the rooms…
plants happiness in your belly!

Beth - I love your blog. I get lots of recipes and craft ideas here. I am new to all of this, and hope it lends some great new friends. I also love Kansas and went to KU! ROCK, CHALK, JAYHAWK!
Anyway, you and your family seem great! Annie seems to have a great little pre-school.
PS I made the hash brown soup the other night! So fast+so good=happy family

PamperingBeki - Yep, it’s officially the best preschool ever!
I think I teared up a bit just hearing you talk about it that one day.

kara - This is absolutely precious!!!

kristin at prairie daze - note to all:
Annie’s photo was on and disappeared (along with eliza and micah’s…hmmmmm)…i think maybe got used for a project. : )
but i have another coming in the mail.
: )
meg, thank you. i do know your love. and i love my work more because of families like yours.
thank you for this glimpse into preschool.
and now i understand the big hug i got.
: )

Tausha - You sound like you have a fantastic preschool! All of my girls have been to a different one. Only because I traded 8 after one year. Then that teacher moved and so 6 had new one as well. 4’s teacher is just around the corner, she loves it and so do I! it makes such a difference when the teacher loves what she does!!
Your shirts are absoulatelty darling! I am loving the 4 and the flowers! My little one would so love these. I must make some! THanks for the inspiration!

Kelly - Good for you, loving your daughter’s school! Tell her teachers!!! I’m sure you do! As a teacher I would LOVE to know a parent feels this way about our school! You have just challenged me to look for the good in everything because there is SO MUCH to be found! Thanks! Kelly

Holly - The cobblers children have no shoes and Meg’s daughter has no photo. Mrs. Photo lady, just where is Annie’s photo? BTW, I love your cute tees in your last post. I think I will make one of the flower ones for my niece that is one. Maybe I could do a truck or something on my nephew’s(they are cousins born two days apart- with mom’s jealous of each other the whole time for stealing THEIR spotlight time!)

Tracy - TOO CUTE! Love the “Pumpkin Patch” in the classroom and the belly laugh on Annie’s face while knocking down the paper hanging from the ceiling – just precious! :o)

Kameron - Where’s Annie’s picture on her notebook?? :o) That sounds like so much fun. It is so nice to love the place that cares for your kiddos.

Rachel - How great is that….and kids are sooo beautiful….”now let’s go hug my mom” tooo cute!
Preschool has come a long way heh….free wifi LOL

shopping with the girls

while at my mom's we squeezed in some shopping.

IMG_7792

we started with brunch at panera…my mom's treat…yum.

IMG_7835

then off to the toy store.
it's a favorite.
it has everything but it's nothing like toys r' us.
they even have webkinz!!!
(that all talby could think about.)

new profile picture?

i think i look like the lady from the old navy commercials?
remember her?
was she a spoof of someone else?

i got to spend time in sarah's fabrics.
my mom kept my girls busy in the costume shop.
i was in fabric dream land.

IMG_7795

every fabric that i been dying to see was there.
i got to touch them.
and i tried not to drool on them.
i thought about just wrapping up in all my favorites
and staying the rest of the day.

but sarah probably wouldn't be happy about that.

("i would drape myself in velvet if it was socially acceptable" name that line.)

we love urban outfitters.
other than having to steer my little reader away
from all the things with swear words on them.
i kept saying loudly "look at THIS!" or "look over here!" to distract her.

IMG_7838

IMG_7839

i don't think this shirt was meant for me but it works.
i DO make good babies.

it was a good girls' time.

Tami Reed - I would love to know how you get away with snapping pics in stores lol too funny!

Deb - Oh, you make me ACHE to get my little old self to Savage Mill, a group of shops that inspire an old woman’s heart. Lol.

jennifer - That all looks like too much fun! I’m having fabric envy right now. I’m just in the very beginning stages of learning how to sew, but we have no good fabric stores here. Gotta take a drive to the big city I guess. πŸ™‚
My sister is here visiting, from Kansas City in fact, and we were reading your post from yesterday together thinking how totally cool it would be to have a family girls dinner. That’s such a great idea and we just might need to figure out a way to pull it off!

Nancy - Somebody beat me to it….I was going to tell you about the old lady in the Old Navy ads. She made those big, round, black frame glasses ‘famous’. That was her look, every. single. day. Can you imagine? Only in the 70’s, right? Looks like a fun trip! Your 15 year old is darling in her glasses.

Stephanie - You’re so zany in those sunglasses! I think everyone would like to be your friend because you are so much fun!

thatgirlblogs - that fabric store made me wish I could sew, and that is really saying something!

emily - oh my goodness . . . that fabric store looks fabulous!!!!!

Mallory Heffron - What a fun day. I really and jealous over that fabric store, it looks awesome. The glasses are a great look for you and they would go perfect with the t-shirt…..LOL

carissa - Sarah’s is DREAMY!!!!! i go completely gaga over pretty fabrics… now if i could just learn to sew darn it!
Urabn Outfitters is so fun…SO much to see and i think their women’s clothes are WAY fun!
looks like yall had really good girl time!
the best!

cynthia - ok, that fabric with the scooter on it is to DIE FOR! i so want to go there…if i ever get the chance, i will look you up!

Suzanne - what a fun time you girls have!! so great!
we had meg’s mexican chicken for the 2nd time last night!!! this time i added black beans to it & it was de-lish! lovin’ all your recipes!! i’ve missed ya!

MGF - The fabric store is So Cool
I LOL when I saw the pictures of the
sunglasses

Jessica - That fabric store looks AMAZING. I wish we had one like that around here. What a fun trip with the girls! I ordered Cora’s pictures finally. When they come in I will have to stop by to show you…maybe next week??

chris - Oh look at all thos juicey fabrics, we could use a tore like that around my area, I love Amy Butler fabrics.
Looks like lots of fun
Chris

Ashley - What a wonderful time! Love the shirt!!

Jenn Thomas - Ohhhh I would love to go to that fabric store! Road Trip! Love the glasses – the
price tag with pearls make it priceless. And Lauren – she gets more beautiful every time I see her – good luck

kristin at prairie daze - george.
and i hope you bought those glasses.

traci - WHAT FUN!!! Lauren looks SO pretty…even in funky, weird glasses..lol
I was drooling all over the fabric pictures. I dont even sew and I LOVE all that fabric.
Never been to urban outfitters…will need to try that.

Ashlie - How fun to spend time with your mom AND go shopping! And I love the t-shirt. I hope you got it! I bet your 13 year-old will love walking around with you in that thing! Ha!

Leslie - George! I think that was the one when he was dating the girl with a velvet couch and her roommate looked just like him. He got her to get rid of the roommate but the couch belonged to him. Love that show!

Kelly - What an AMAZING fabric store! Wow!
Urban Outfitters has so many cool things. I wish they would just leave the offensive materials out.
Kelly

danyele-a thorn among roses - love love love the fabric store. i am in a full scale jealousy fit! did i see michael miller scooters?? oh my…and the glasses are too cute!

amanda - Note to self– do not take my 5 year old to Urban Outfitters. He is quite the reader too.
THANK YOU for the acorns!!! We love them and had a blast cracking a few open. I never knew they were so big and fuzzy-ish! (Is that a word?) We will cherish them forever! Now, what can I send you from AZ . . .
Amanda

danelle - where is outfitters? i’ve never heard of it.

Tracy - Love the shirt and fabric photos – looks like you all had a wonderful day together! I’m so jealous that I don’t live close to my sister and mother any longer to do that. *wah wah wah* (can’t you hear the violin playing – hee hee hee) On another note – I was just curious – do you ever get strange looks for all of the photos you take everywhere you go or anyone telling you that you can’t take pictures of things in their stores? Keep up the great work and I agree with the above posters – you SHOULD have bought the shirt! Hugs, Trac~ :O)

Lorilee - I am drooling over all that fabric. I think I need to take a trip to Lawrence soon!! Love the glasses!

Allikayes Mama - Oh…I love Urban Outfitters too! And I am such a sucker for fun shirts! I love the glasses pictures…I see a scrapbook page in your future!! Will you come by my site and give me your awesome creative advice on a new bench I bought??? hehehe

Rachel - What a fun day!!!

christine - The old lady in the ads was Carrie Donovan, a fashion editor (Vogue, Harper’s). I think you should revive the look — the rhinestones bring it up to date! You look divine!

Kameron - George Costanza!! I love that line, it cracks me up. :o) Is that the same store you took your profie picture in? The fabric store was amazing. I need to find a really neat (not comerical) fabric store near me. Looks like you had fun with the girls. :o)

Melanie - The Old Navy lady was not a spoof. (if you can believe that:) She really wore those glasses. I love fabric too but I can’t sew a thing. I love to go in the stores and look at fabrics and dream that I can do something with it. LOL

Kara - That lady from teh Old Navy commercials always reminded me of that famous cake decorater in NYC.
I love that t-shirt. Hilarious!!

cjs - LOVE ugli dolls.
and that shirt.
you should have bought it.
and oh, the fabric. sensory overload. sometimes it’s just so wonderful it’s frustrating. all the possibilities.

jodi - sounds like a seinfeld line. ?
you have beautiful girls, and your mom too!
love! the fabric store–looks like a great trip.

Alyssa - Looks like fun. What a funny t-shirt.

traci - i hope you girls bought those sunglasses – THEY ARE SO FUN!!! i agree – you do make good babies. can you honestly imagine wearing a shirt around like that. jeesh. karlie and i went in one of those in boston a couple of years back. it was a fun store. did you buy any fabric? that’s an awesome store – but i don’t sew.

IMG_7841

my mom hosted this year.
i decided very last minute that we could make it.
i took my girls and we just showed up.
so much for RSVP.
i am so rude.
not only did i not RSVP…i showed up 11 PM unannounced.
while they were brushing their teeth to go to bed.

giggling hysterically the whole time.

IMG_7863
thanks for hosting mom.
it was all very nice.
and yummy.

oh yeah…i forgot to call you to tell you i got home safely last night.
sorry.
i made it.

it was good to see all you girls.

Glad you had such a nice time out with just the ladies πŸ™‚

Tausha - what a fun night! My mom loves to decorate for every month. She is kind of a freak when it comes to dishes! She would love this idea!
1* She would get to actually use the cute dishes and stuff that she sets her table with. (maybe she just likes to collect them and never use them, which so would not surprise me!)
2* We girlies could all get together, and my children would so love to be the center of attention! (I have no idea where they get this from-This coming from the girl who when she was bored when she was little, she would make movies with her kids) Yep, I know I am freak!!!

pam - what a wonderful tradition…i hope to have something like that with my girlies someday! the table looks gorgeous as do the goodies! xo

...loveMaegan - how cute is that?!?!?!?!?

meredith - We don’t really celebrate Halloween with as much enthusiasm and sense of tradition in Australia. Our loss! You make it look such fun. I’ll start lining my front steps with carved pumpkins and see if it takes off!

flutter - your life is beautiful, you know?

Jen - So fun! I LOVE those candle sticks???
β™₯Jen

cjs - go to bed, meg.
I know you’re awake.

Lorilee - Awesome! It looks like a great tradition.
Blessings,

That all looks absolutely magazine perfect!! What a fun time!

pumpkins

it's probably my favorite thing to photograph.

IMG_7729

IMG_7714

annie and i stopped over at the nursery for pumpkins.
i don't mind getting regular orange ones at the wal-marts.
(much cheaper)
but it's fun to find the different ones here.

we picked a gray one.
and we liked the bumpy reddish ones.
we almost got one of those too.
it took us so long to decide.
the staff kept coming out to see if we needed help.
no….we are just slow.

i love to look at these every fall too.

so very pretty.
the colors of fall are THE best.
we brought home this frosty orange beauty.
it looks straight out of a fairy tale.

Tracy - I love all of the pumpkin photos but the very last “frosty orange” one is my most favorite – it looks like it should be in Cinderella! :o) Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love the “smells” of fall in general – burning leaves, pumpkin patch, etc…. Thanks for sharing! These would make some great scrapbook pages! Hugs, Trac~ :o)

carissa - that “frosty orange” one… oh YES… very pretty! pumpkins are just plain FUN & your pics are FAB my friend!

Alpaca Farmgirl - Oooh! Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us!
This is such a fun time of year.

Lorilee - I love all the different types of pumpkins. I like the white ones and the Fairy Tale pumpkins the best! Your photos are wonderful!
Happy Halloween!
Lorilee

thatgirlblogs - so funny that they kept asking if you needed help. maybe the camera made them nervous πŸ˜‰

Deb - Oh, I LOVE white ones! I want to get one and use gem-covered thumb tacks to map out a pattern. All glitz and glam, like a Diva punkin’.

Rachel - Amazing pics…it’s great that you get to spend one on one time with her…we do that in our family too! But we only have 2 kids to do it with LOL…your a great mom!

melissa @ the inspired room - So pretty, love all the “punkins”. πŸ™‚
Happy weekend, Meg!!! Hoping you are out finding some fall front porches to show us…you’d do a great job on a Fall Drive By! πŸ˜‰
Melissa

Ashlie - Once again, I LOVE your pictures!! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. The colors are amazing and everything just feels so cozy!

kristin at prairie daze - we call the gray ones “sally” pumpkins.
i think that is one chimp.
(still one of my very favorite preschool moments.)

Sandra - I just posted pictures of The Gourd Barn near us. It’s so much fun to see all the variations — not just the traditional orange pumpkins. Happy Fall!

One Wired Woman - What a pumpkin of a day!! The last photo is my fav. I love fall!! ~Jill πŸ™‚

Liz - I just realized, sadly, that all the pumpkins in my house are fake. So sad. These pictures are wonderful.

Kameron - I love your pictures! I saw a white pumpkin (in person) for the first time this year. I was so giddy I bought it and now don’t want to ruin it by carving it!

Leah - Cute! Annie is getting so big…when I started reading your blog she was just a little thing. Regarding pumpkins…for whatever reason Im having a hard time finding white ones here is WA! Going to a nursery is a good idea.

Heidi - Oh they are so pretty, individual works of art! Love ’em! Thanks for sharing your little trip there.

Sarah - oh, i love these pictures so much, the color of the pumpkins next to that striped sweater is perfection. thanks for the shot of color in my day.

Bethany - So looking at these fun fall pics really makes me miss Kansas! It is SO hard to get into the fall spirit when it is bright, sunny and over 90 degrees. Blah. So, soak up the beautiful fall weather for me!!

traci - LOVE THE PICTURES but you always have rockin pictures!!!! Just curious…how much do you spend on all that stuff?? I STILL remember your porch from last fall. I have the worst memory ever but your fall porch made such an impression I STILL rememeber it even with my stinkin memory. You must spend A LOT. LOVE YOUR BLOG TO PIECES!!!!

julie - What a great nursery. Fab selection, much better than the cardboard bins of orange in front of the store.

PamperingBeki - Oh I LOVE unusual pumpkins!!
The white are my favorites, and I love the gray bumpy ones too.
We have an orange and green speckled one on our porch. I was excited to find it.
And you did NOT just say “at the Walmarts”. Bahaha!! I use that line all the time. That, and “and STAY out of the Woolsworth!” πŸ˜‰
We’re hitting the pumpkin patch this weekend and I’m so excited. And then the kids go for a field trip on Monday. YAY pumpkins!

Kara - Um…hold the phone. Is that an AQUA pumpkin in the last picture? Or is the lighting toying with my emotions?

Amanda - Love it! Great shots! That little angelis sure adorable. Why can’t I look cute like that in pig tails! πŸ™‚
Now…to see where you use them to decorate..
God bless!
Amanda

jennifer - Beautiful, beautiful pictures!
I was just thinking this morning that I’m so glad God gives us such gorgeous colors to look at in the fall. It off-sets the frost on the grass that I’m not so happy to see. πŸ™‚

Sharla - Your pictures are beautiful! I love all the unusual, but awesome, colors and textures they have out now!

traci - they do have a lot of different pumpkins to choose from. it would have been difficult. i live the little line of pumpkins – does that represent your family? too cute!!

cheesy potato soup

it was just one of those kind of nights.

the kind where soup is perfect!

IMG_7673

my camera seems a bit off these days.
but it also could be me.
i feel a bit off these days.
(having a teenager will do that to you)

anyway…THE SOUP.
it's not the healthiest…
or organic….
but it's yummy.
and quick and easy.

and i had to mix hash browns AND tator tots.
and i had no fresh onion.
OR bacon.
but my family still loved it.
the recipe is in the sidebar.

IMG_7679

a (blurry) shot of what was going while making this soup last night.
every kid was in the kitchen.
lauren was studying (by force) and everyone else was being quiet.
at least trying to be quiet.
but having everyone is the same room was different.

IMG_7686

while snarfing (is that a word?) this down quickly before church sean asked

"Mom?
HOW do you make this?!
It's soooo good.  Can i have another bowl?"

ummmm….YES!
for anyone who says sweet stuff like that i think 2nd's is a given!

and can you guess what he had for breakfast today?

jeaneta - If there is one weakness i have it’s definitely for potato soup. I absolutely love it. And I will definitely be giving this recipe a try too.
Just got caught up on a bunch of your post. umm lets see.. happy super late b day, yes pumpkins are the best thing to photograph…i attribute it to the smashing orange color, and the choking Jesus quote was priceless!

Jen - YUM. just emailed it to myself and will make it next week! Thanks!
β™₯Jen

Heidi - Oh my, I’m literally droooooling!!!!

julie - I pretty much feed my family every week with one of your recipes. Can’t wait to try this one!

amanda - ummm, this looks dee-lish! i may try this as soon as the weather cools down a bit again.
did you send the acorns? you are by no means obligated– i just wanted to have a heads up either way. kids often make a trip to the post office impossible– i know that first hand.
amanda az

vicki - Why that is a mighty fine looking supper, and teenagers…I’m terrified!! I have two little girls, they will go through their teen years just a few years apart…I can only imagine…heaven help me!

Tonya - That looks like a heart attack in a bowl! And I mean that in a really really tasty looking way.

Amanda - That soup looked good in the after shot… but seeing as I am NOT a hash browns fan… you almost lost me from the get go. I recovered and you are still in my good graces. he he
Lets see… breakfast… another bowl of soup?
God bless-
Amanda

Tausha - I have a really stupid question-do you brown the hashbrowns before you add the liquid? Or just throw the two in together? Maybe this is a stupid question, but I think that my kids would actually eat this one. They seem to have a problem with liquid things for dinner. Unless of course you count Milkshakes. No, I have never given them that for dinner, I should though. Then i know for sure that they would eat it! Thanks for kind comments! I will defniately be trying more of your recipes. I didn’t even notice that you had them up before. (i know I am a loser) Any recipe that is tried and true from one mom to another is priceless!

danyele - i agree…a liitle carbs and cheese always makes the soul feel good. i’m gonna have to check out that recipe…when i’m not coming off the flu. the salad, btw, looks like my style…so yummy!

Lorelei - hi Meg!
I gotta tell ya, you are right on the money with recipes. I had this soup for dinner tonight and my husband and I devoured it (not the whole thing, OMG!) but it was so awesomely good.
Thanks for sharing.
I’m passing this one on to my dad too who was drooling when I told him about it.
πŸ™‚

Erik - Cheese and potatoes: is there a more heavenly combination? I think not!

Munchkins and Music - That looks really good! I love salad.

kristin at prairie daze - i might go to dillons now.

Mallory Heffron - That looks way yummy. I might have to make that…

Jenn Thomas - This is very good soup – I liked it when you added the chicken. Russ also thought it was great that way.

Deb - Oh, if only my kids would eat SOUP! Ugh. What’s wrong with these kids?

Margaret - I read your blog often, no I don’t have my own I just stalk others! So, I usually do not comment, but after today I had too! I think you could be one of my best friends if you lived closer to NC. We both love Starbucks (but who really doesnt), Starbucks Ice Cream is my fav, and I have never heard anyone else say their favorite movie is Family Man besides me! I love that movie, I just recently cut my hair like Tia’s is in the movie, and yes I am aware it isn’t the latest style but its cute and easy!I actually took my movie and my laptop to the stylist to show her! Ha! If you are ever in NC we should get together with some Starbucks ice cream and watch the movie, and talk about our latest Bible Study of course! Sweet Blessings,
Maggie

Kara - What a great idea to make potato soup with hashbrowns. I love it!

Alyssa - I featured you on my blog.
I love your blog and your photos

Candy - This looks great! Can’t wait to try it! πŸ™‚ I actually woke up during the night craving the Stuffed Shells recipe I got from you! ha! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

rychelle - can’t wait to try this. it looks delish!

Amy - I love that all I see are walmart brands…makes me feel as if I’m not the only mom who pinches on the little things!! Soup looks divine!! I may have to make it once it gets really cold here!!

PamperingBeki - Mmmmm, I just made cheesy potato soup the other day and my kids raved about it too! They acted like it was the best thing ever. Weirdos.
You were a better mom though, and served a salad with yours. I served saltines. πŸ˜‰
And snarfed better be a word because I use it all the time.

denise - I think I have tried all of your recipies–all great!!! Question though, the chicken broth, you put down “2 cans broth”–what size are you using??? Thanks again for shariing.

Rachel - that looks delicious…definately gonna try it!

lauren bean - hahaha first comment im at school yo;
