this is what happens when i sew cute shirts.
i guess i have some folding to do.
i could have the kids do it…
but cuddling up in a blanket and watching a movie
while folding laundry on this cold rainy day sounds good to me.
everyone knows how much i love annie's preschool….because i tell everyone. i wished i'd had my camera on monday.
today i turned the car around half way through to go back to get it.
they have each brought a pumpkin.
working on properties like smooth, bumpy, heavy, light, big, little, etc.
and next week they decorate them.
i can't wait to see that.
they have journals….which is the most adorable thing!
seeing them all sit at the tables and "write" is precious.
they all love to show you what is inside.
annie likes to write letters or her name and very scribble-y swirly people.
are they not the cutest little books?!
knocking down a paper that's hanging off the ceiling is hilarious.
every time.
it's a no brainer.
and time for a snack at the preschool diner (that apparently has free wi-fi).
i made it to the door and said
"goodbye annie. have a great day! do you need a hug?"
micah was closer so he grabbed me first.
then annie latched on.
eliza saw and wanted in on the fun.
gracie came running in giggling.
and mckenna squeezed around the other side.
they were just laughing and group hugging.
i was feeling the love.
they did it again one more time and then eliza's eyes got big
and she said "let's go hug MY mom!"
great idea.
HAHA!! Love it I love all these pictures! What a neat idea to let preschoolers “journal!” And the group hug…AWWWWW! It’s so good that you can send Annie to school and know that she’ll be in a wonderful atmosphere doing fun things! Those are great. It is beyond me how you have time to make all those cute shirts in the previous post and keep up with kids…that amazing craft room of yours must help! I am going to try the hash brown soup you made this weekend! VERY sweet.
This is absolutely precious!!!
Good for you, loving your daughter’s school! Tell her teachers!!! I’m sure you do! As a teacher I would LOVE to know a parent feels this way about our school! You have just challenged me to look for the good in everything because there is SO MUCH to be found! Thanks! Kelly The cobblers children have no shoes and Meg’s daughter has no photo. Mrs. Photo lady, just where is Annie’s photo? BTW, I love your cute tees in your last post. I think I will make one of the flower ones for my niece that is one. Maybe I could do a truck or something on my nephew’s(they are cousins born two days apart- with mom’s jealous of each other the whole time for stealing THEIR spotlight time!) TOO CUTE! Love the “Pumpkin Patch” in the classroom and the belly laugh on Annie’s face while knocking down the paper hanging from the ceiling – just precious! :o) Where’s Annie’s picture on her notebook?? :o) That sounds like so much fun. It is so nice to love the place that cares for your kiddos.
i got going and i couldn't stop.
alvin and the chipmunks inspired this one.
i bought annie a bunch of garanimal t-shirts.
and got busy.
(a month later that is…)
princess lasertron and her awesome craftiness inspired this.
although hers are much cuter and more detailed.
annie turns 4 in twelve days.
she wants to wear this to her party.
and crystal inspired this one.
have you seen her shop? super cute stuff in there.
and i am not finished.
more projects to come….
LOVE…these shirts=LOVE! LOVE…these shirts=LOVE! Love the shirts – I can’t wait till I have time to sew again.
Oooh, I love all of these! They are too cute! Do you think 27 is too old to wear something like that? π I may just have to make myself a big girl version…or two!
Wow Meg!! Those are all so super cute but the last one has to be my fave! Something about those posies just makes me smile!! Great job!! Maybe I need to get to work on something fun like that?!!
so cute . . . i absolutely love the flower shirt!!!! my girls need a shirt like that!!! SOOO CUTE!
so cute. I wish I liked/felt good at sewing! Kelly Those shirts make me miss having a little girl! They are absolutely adorable.. I love them. Do you sell these? I have a 4 year old neice that might just have to get one for Christmas. You are so talented! Those shirts are freakin’ awesome! Forget cleaning and getting the tires rotated! Today I am beautifying t-shirts. Look out world! Those are darling–I wish I had any style or motivation.
these are seeew cute! hee hee those are so adorable!! Okay, I think my neices and nephews need some shirts… you should sell these – adorable!
love, love love that last shirt!! so cute!
Just getting back to the real world from my Costa Rica trip…OH MY GOODNESS THE CUTENESS!!! I sooo need to learn to sew! I don’t have girls…but I’m sure I could come up with something fun for a boy π I cannot wait to see more!!!!!
loved the cupcake! Love it! My daughter calls herself 4, I’m not sure what we will do when she turns 5! Oh dear heavens ADORABLE!!! Can you wash these??? i made some similar, not as cute, but they are sooo much fun! thanks…now i wanna make more….love the flowers They’re lovely. Where do you find the time for all of this wonderful creativity? Please can I borrow you? Fantastic shirts. They’re all so unique. That’s my favorite part. Great color and patterns used. Can’t wait to see more.
Oh, MAN! What CAN’T you do? I love love love love love love those shirts. Can you make me some for Christmas? Pretty please? I want a J E S U S and a heart. For our picture. Ugh–guess I should get busy now. Lol. meg – those are so cute. i want one. i really love the flowery one. i wish i could sew. Awwww, cute!! Beautiful creations as always!! π Thanks for some inspiration today! π These are super CUTE! Wish I had a little girl but maybe I can do a boyish one. Wow, I love them all. They are so cute. And you are so talented! Great job! Super Cute!! I love all of them!
Sooo cute…Love them all! Cute shirts. I am doing the same thing! Your shirt w/the flowers on it (which is my favorite) there is a plate at Target that is divided that looks just like that. Went there last night and bought it. It would match your shirt!! you HAVE to make some to sell! i would be the first in line to buy!! my annie, even at the age of 8, would LOVE those shirts!! but can you stop w/all the talent already…makin’ me feel like such a slacker;)
while at my mom's we squeezed in some shopping. we started with brunch at panera…my mom's treat…yum. then off to the toy store.
it's a favorite.
it has everything but it's nothing like toys r' us.
they even have webkinz!!!
(that all talby could think about.)
new profile picture? i think i look like the lady from the old navy commercials?
remember her?
was she a spoof of someone else?
i got to spend time in sarah's fabrics.
my mom kept my girls busy in the costume shop.
i was in fabric dream land.
every fabric that i been dying to see was there.
i got to touch them.
and i tried not to drool on them.
i thought about just wrapping up in all my favorites
and staying the rest of the day.
but sarah probably wouldn't be happy about that. ("i would drape myself in velvet if it was socially acceptable" name that line.)
we love urban outfitters.
other than having to steer my little reader away
from all the things with swear words on them.
i kept saying loudly "look at THIS!" or "look over here!" to distract her.
I would love to know how you get away with snapping pics in stores lol too funny! Oh, you make me ACHE to get my little old self to Savage Mill, a group of shops that inspire an old woman’s heart. Lol.
Somebody beat me to it….I was going to tell you about the old lady in the Old Navy ads. She made those big, round, black frame glasses ‘famous’. That was her look, every. single. day. Can you imagine? Only in the 70’s, right? Looks like a fun trip! Your 15 year old is darling in her glasses. You’re so zany in those sunglasses! I think everyone would like to be your friend because you are so much fun! that fabric store made me wish I could sew, and that is really saying something! oh my goodness . . . that fabric store looks fabulous!!!!! What a fun day. I really and jealous over that fabric store, it looks awesome. The glasses are a great look for you and they would go perfect with the t-shirt…..LOL
ok, that fabric with the scooter on it is to DIE FOR! i so want to go there…if i ever get the chance, i will look you up!
That fabric store looks AMAZING. I wish we had one like that around here. What a fun trip with the girls! I ordered Cora’s pictures finally. When they come in I will have to stop by to show you…maybe next week??
What a wonderful time! Love the shirt!!
How fun to spend time with your mom AND go shopping! And I love the t-shirt. I hope you got it! I bet your 13 year-old will love walking around with you in that thing! Ha! George! I think that was the one when he was dating the girl with a velvet couch and her roommate looked just like him. He got her to get rid of the roommate but the couch belonged to him. Love that show!
love love love the fabric store. i am in a full scale jealousy fit! did i see michael miller scooters?? oh my…and the glasses are too cute!
where is outfitters? i’ve never heard of it. Love the shirt and fabric photos – looks like you all had a wonderful day together! I’m so jealous that I don’t live close to my sister and mother any longer to do that. *wah wah wah* (can’t you hear the violin playing – hee hee hee) On another note – I was just curious – do you ever get strange looks for all of the photos you take everywhere you go or anyone telling you that you can’t take pictures of things in their stores? Keep up the great work and I agree with the above posters – you SHOULD have bought the shirt! Hugs, Trac~ :O) I am drooling over all that fabric. I think I need to take a trip to Lawrence soon!! Love the glasses! Oh…I love Urban Outfitters too! And I am such a sucker for fun shirts! I love the glasses pictures…I see a scrapbook page in your future!! Will you come by my site and give me your awesome creative advice on a new bench I bought??? hehehe What a fun day!!! The old lady in the ads was Carrie Donovan, a fashion editor (Vogue, Harper’s). I think you should revive the look — the rhinestones bring it up to date! You look divine! George Costanza!! I love that line, it cracks me up. :o) Is that the same store you took your profie picture in? The fabric store was amazing. I need to find a really neat (not comerical) fabric store near me. Looks like you had fun with the girls. :o) The Old Navy lady was not a spoof. (if you can believe that:) She really wore those glasses. I love fabric too but I can’t sew a thing. I love to go in the stores and look at fabrics and dream that I can do something with it. LOL
Looks like fun. What a funny t-shirt. i hope you girls bought those sunglasses – THEY ARE SO FUN!!! i agree – you do make good babies. can you honestly imagine wearing a shirt around like that. jeesh. karlie and i went in one of those in boston a couple of years back. it was a fun store. did you buy any fabric? that’s an awesome store – but i don’t sew. every year my mom's side of the family has a girls only fall dinner. my mom hosted this year.
i decided very last minute that we could make it.
i took my girls and we just showed up.
so much for RSVP.
i am so rude.
not only did i not RSVP…i showed up 11 PM unannounced.
while they were brushing their teeth to go to bed.
surprise!
it was so nice….just the ladies.
my mom made a great dinner.
i loved that salad!
ohhh….spoooooky!
the self-appointed entertainment.
they wrote silly stories and drew pictures and read them to all of us.
giggling hysterically the whole time.
thanks for hosting mom.
it was all very nice.
and yummy.
oh yeah…i forgot to call you to tell you i got home safely last night.
sorry.
i made it.
it was good to see all you girls.
this is fun tradition.
i think everyone should start this!
what a wonderful tradition…i hope to have something like that with my girlies someday! the table looks gorgeous as do the goodies! xo how cute is that?!?!?!?!? I have something for you on my blog! looks like you girls had a blast. I love all of the decorations,
Oh. My. Gosh. This is the best party idea EVER!!!!
looks like fun So good to see you – love the picture of Macy and Talby. So glad Maya is finally warming up to you! Hope to see you soon!
Definately a great idea! And looks like you had a lot of yummy desserts!!! What a great womanly tradition! You’re blessed, but I’m sure you already know that. π what a wonderful tradition!! the table is set beautifully. very festive. next year you need to go earlier and not miss any of the fun!! great photography! Don’t you think you’ll treasure that last shot of smiling women around the table forever? Sounds like a fun idea! How far apart do you all live? Kelly We don’t really celebrate Halloween with as much enthusiasm and sense of tradition in Australia. Our loss! You make it look such fun. I’ll start lining my front steps with carved pumpkins and see if it takes off! your life is beautiful, you know?
What a wonderful tradition!!!
it's probably my favorite thing to photograph. annie and i stopped over at the nursery for pumpkins.
i don't mind getting regular orange ones at the wal-marts.
(much cheaper)
but it's fun to find the different ones here.
we picked a gray one.
and we liked the bumpy reddish ones.
we almost got one of those too.
it took us so long to decide.
the staff kept coming out to see if we needed help.
no….we are just slow.
i love to look at these every fall too.
she was measuring it kristin.
one chimp.
ha.
I love all of the pumpkin photos but the very last “frosty orange” one is my most favorite – it looks like it should be in Cinderella! :o) Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love the “smells” of fall in general – burning leaves, pumpkin patch, etc…. Thanks for sharing! These would make some great scrapbook pages! Hugs, Trac~ :o) that “frosty orange” one… oh YES… very pretty! pumpkins are just plain FUN & your pics are FAB my friend!
so funny that they kept asking if you needed help. maybe the camera made them nervous π Oh, I LOVE white ones! I want to get one and use gem-covered thumb tacks to map out a pattern. All glitz and glam, like a Diva punkin’. Amazing pics…it’s great that you get to spend one on one time with her…we do that in our family too! But we only have 2 kids to do it with LOL…your a great mom!
Once again, I LOVE your pictures!! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. The colors are amazing and everything just feels so cozy!
I just posted pictures of The Gourd Barn near us. It’s so much fun to see all the variations — not just the traditional orange pumpkins. Happy Fall! What a pumpkin of a day!! The last photo is my fav. I love fall!! ~Jill π I just realized, sadly, that all the pumpkins in my house are fake. So sad. These pictures are wonderful. I love your pictures! I saw a white pumpkin (in person) for the first time this year. I was so giddy I bought it and now don’t want to ruin it by carving it! Cute! Annie is getting so big…when I started reading your blog she was just a little thing. Regarding pumpkins…for whatever reason Im having a hard time finding white ones here is WA! Going to a nursery is a good idea. Oh they are so pretty, individual works of art! Love ’em! Thanks for sharing your little trip there. oh, i love these pictures so much, the color of the pumpkins next to that striped sweater is perfection. thanks for the shot of color in my day. So looking at these fun fall pics really makes me miss Kansas! It is SO hard to get into the fall spirit when it is bright, sunny and over 90 degrees. Blah. So, soak up the beautiful fall weather for me!! LOVE THE PICTURES but you always have rockin pictures!!!! Just curious…how much do you spend on all that stuff?? I STILL remember your porch from last fall. I have the worst memory ever but your fall porch made such an impression I STILL rememeber it even with my stinkin memory. You must spend A LOT. LOVE YOUR BLOG TO PIECES!!!! What a great nursery. Fab selection, much better than the cardboard bins of orange in front of the store.
Um…hold the phone. Is that an AQUA pumpkin in the last picture? Or is the lighting toying with my emotions?
Your pictures are beautiful! I love all the unusual, but awesome, colors and textures they have out now! they do have a lot of different pumpkins to choose from. it would have been difficult. i live the little line of pumpkins – does that represent your family? too cute!! it was just one of those kind of nights. the kind where soup is perfect!
my camera seems a bit off these days.
but it also could be me.
i feel a bit off these days.
(having a teenager will do that to you)
anyway…THE SOUP.
it's not the healthiest…
or organic….
but it's yummy.
and quick and easy.
and i had to mix hash browns AND tator tots.
and i had no fresh onion.
OR bacon.
but my family still loved it.
the recipe is in the sidebar.
a (blurry) shot of what was going while making this soup last night.
every kid was in the kitchen.
lauren was studying (by force) and everyone else was being quiet.
at least trying to be quiet.
but having everyone is the same room was different.
while snarfing (is that a word?) this down quickly before church sean asked
"Mom?
HOW do you make this?!
It's soooo good. Can i have another bowl?"
ummmm….YES!
for anyone who says sweet stuff like that i think 2nd's is a given!
and can you guess what he had for breakfast today?
Oh my, I’m literally droooooling!!!! I pretty much feed my family every week with one of your recipes. Can’t wait to try this one!
Why that is a mighty fine looking supper, and teenagers…I’m terrified!! I have two little girls, they will go through their teen years just a few years apart…I can only imagine…heaven help me! That looks like a heart attack in a bowl! And I mean that in a really really tasty looking way.
I have a really stupid question-do you brown the hashbrowns before you add the liquid? Or just throw the two in together? Maybe this is a stupid question, but I think that my kids would actually eat this one. They seem to have a problem with liquid things for dinner. Unless of course you count Milkshakes. No, I have never given them that for dinner, I should though. Then i know for sure that they would eat it! Thanks for kind comments! I will defniately be trying more of your recipes. I didn’t even notice that you had them up before. (i know I am a loser) Any recipe that is tried and true from one mom to another is priceless! i agree…a liitle carbs and cheese always makes the soul feel good. i’m gonna have to check out that recipe…when i’m not coming off the flu. the salad, btw, looks like my style…so yummy!
Cheese and potatoes: is there a more heavenly combination? I think not! That looks really good! I love salad. i might go to dillons now. That looks way yummy. I might have to make that… This is very good soup – I liked it when you added the chicken. Russ also thought it was great that way. Oh, if only my kids would eat SOUP! Ugh. What’s wrong with these kids?
What a great idea to make potato soup with hashbrowns. I love it!
This looks great! Can’t wait to try it! π I actually woke up during the night craving the Stuffed Shells recipe I got from you! ha! π π π can’t wait to try this. it looks delish! I love that all I see are walmart brands…makes me feel as if I’m not the only mom who pinches on the little things!! Soup looks divine!! I may have to make it once it gets really cold here!!
I think I have tried all of your recipies–all great!!! Question though, the chicken broth, you put down “2 cans broth”–what size are you using??? Thanks again for shariing. that looks delicious…definately gonna try it! hahaha first comment im at school yo; |

Jill - I HATE LAUNDRY!!!!!!!!!! Whew… now I feel better for getting that out. Thanks for sharing your pile. My hubby calls ours the “clothes glacier” and it gets on my last nerve. π ~Jill π
Maricriss - Now I don’t feel so bad when I see my pile of unfolded laundry at home:-)
Hannah - Welcome to my life…
Deputy's Wife - Thank you for posting this picture. I really needed to see that.
See, it makes me feel a little bit better. Only a little bit because my pile is dirty.
Shannon Davis - I think my brother needs to buy you a front load washer and dryer to cut your laundry time in half! Todd got me one when we moved and I love it — the dryer steams the wrinkles out of the clothes too!!
liz - i’m so glad i’m not the only one that has a mountain of laundry! my mom always tells me to fold it as it comes out of the dryer. . .
Art Cant Hurt - Ahhhh, yes! LAUNDRY LOITERING!
Good times…good times.
π
PamperingBeki - Bahaha!!!
If only I could blog (hop) and fold laundry at the same time, I’d be one happy girl and my kids would be wearing clean clothes!!
cynthia - it doesn’t take long for it to pile up, does it?
happy folding!
Amanda - Whoa. You are brave and far more WILLING then I! Once I let my laundry pile up that hile then I complain and moan about having to take care of it. So kudos to you for not doing that! π
God bless-
Amanda
Diana Cornielle - Oh my gosh! I thought we had clothes piled up!!! I hate folding clothes! lol. But I guess watching a movie and folding isn’t too bad! Good luck…lol.
traci - I think a larger family would be great til I see their laundry..lol
Your a sweeeeet mom, even with my family of four even if Im sweet enough to wash and dry they MUST sort and put away their own laundry.
Deb - Looks like my house most of the time. Lol.
traci - holy cow meg. that’s a lot of clothes. are ya done yet?
julie - Three things I wish:
It was cold and rainy.
I sewed those cute shirts (loving the cheapo Geranimals)
Laundry could do itself.
carissa - and could you iamgine if we had to do the whole clothes line thing too… oh… thank you LORD for modern convenience!
happy folding…
happy friday…
brew some more coffee…
Julie K. - So, THAT’S how to make folding laundry bearable … I cannot get mine folded … but folding during a movie … that’s a good idea. Now if it weren’t for my curious toddler maybe the laundry would STAY folded!
chris - Oh that pile gives me anxiety, I hate doing laundry , I don’t know how you manage all that, you could totally justify a house keeper with all that laundry to do, I have only two kids and I can’t keep up on it .
I bow down to you .
Leah - Holy Cow…thank the Lord for washers and dryers. Could you imagine if you had to wash all that by hand!
emily - i have the same amount of laundry at my house too . . . except mine hasn’t been washed yet . . . and i don’t have cute little shirts as an excuse!
MGF - Keepin’ it real……..
Hope that movie is not too distracting
Christy - That reminds me of that Samsung commercial (I think) with the ball of laundry. Holy schmoly!
I must say though those tees were pretty darned cute & worth every minute of post-poned laundry!
Gwyn - This is how it looks right now at my house too…..
foreverfoldinglaundry - It looks just like my house, except I haven’t made any cute shirts lately! What’s my excuse?!? =)
Kameron - Wow, I would tread lightly. You don’t know what may be hiding under that pile! Unfortunately that’s what my dirty clothes pile looks like right now… Darn work, the weekends are supposed to be for relaxing not for doing everything I can’t get to during the week!
regina - Holy Crap!!! I wish you much luck w/your folding!!!! Have a happy Friday!!
Rachel - WT???? You have to fold all that? Wow…I guess you will be busy during the movie…how long is it 1.5…2 hours?
I would help if I was there…I dread folding clothes by myself but when someone helps me it’s funner (I know it’s not a word) because we can laugh and talk…that is why I always rope my hubby into helping when it gets piled up.
danyele - wow…that looks like my house all the time it seems! and because of you (not really, but you should still feel bad), i sewed last night on some shirts and got no housework done. so, now, you must come to my house and do the laundry too…that only seems fair!
Beth - That’s awesome! I am soo glad I am not the only one. Today, I am tackling the pile that needs to be heavily stain treated. God speed!
Brenis - HAHAHAHA!!!! That happens at my house too!! I can’t figure out why the laundry fairies don’t want to visit my house?!? π
Good luck gettin it done today! π Loving all your recent pictures!
