last week the 2 little girls and i got up early, got dressed and out the door in the freezing cold to go to dance class. they were still on winter break.
oops….no class.
when we got home we made the living room a dance studio.
we pulled out the new scarves for christmas from aunt shannon.
i cranked up the classical music
and they went crazy.
you may not find this as funny as craig and i did…
that was hilarious! oh, i miss doogie. i thought he was so cute! YES! Loved this! Thanks for posting it so I could laugh again and again! Good stuff! This was the best. My husband and I couldn’t stop rewinding the TIVO! This was the best. My husband and I couldn’t stop rewinding the TIVO! oh btw my friend… your letter… HOW i loved that… thank you… SO! π
Hi! I saw this on Jenna’s “These are the days” blog and it is so hilarious! I watched that show a lot when I was younger! Neil Patrick Harris is the best. Do you watch How I Met Your Mother? I love him in that. we thought it was funny too! and that tear at the end…
I saw that this weekend and thought it was hilarious! That is hillarious. Hey Meg! Thanks for sharing! I’ve been home in bed sick with the flu for the last week and this just brightened my day and gave me a big laugh. I loved Doogie back in the day – he was so funny and is just as good now on How I Met Your Mother. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Trac-:o)
FREAK-ING HILARIOUS!!! I SOOOO needed that laugh. I love Doogie on HIMYM!!! I think I need to go watch that again. Okay, that was funny… Oh, Doogie, why did you have to go and grow up? Being a nurse I really appreciate all the lab coat and my husband won’t mind if I wore a version of the nurse uniform- at hoe of course My hubby and I enjoyed that too! We rewound it and watched it again! I was happy that this SNL seemed to be getting funny again! That was the best! Oh my gosh – I have to run to the ladies room now before I pee my pants from laughing. (TMI?) YEs…we too thought it was fantastic. i saw this…and i died laughing! i was a huge doogie fan back in the day. he did a great job on the whole show…fab! i became simpsonized…. how do i look?
ha…and i guess i'd be a doctor.
(i just noticed the stethoscope)
and to be honest….i love(d) that show.
i haven't seen it in forever but i think it is hysterical.
here is something i want.
one of many things….
a hot chocolate machine.
i think my kids would go nuts for this.
when these first came out i thought "how stupid is that?"
but now that they all want hot chocolate everyday…
and the packets and powder all over…
this rocks!
my husband delivered.
we got the floor model…scratches on the top and sides…i certainly don't care.
it is by far the coolest appliance i have ever owned.
i will admit that i did hug and lay my cheek on the red stacked set of front load washer/dyers
at best buy but i am a big girl
and i can admit that red paint doesn't warrant an extra $200.
why do they do that?
"some big shot at the hot dog factory got together with some big shot over at the bun factory…."
so in between laundry loads…
dishwasher loadings
dog baths
sewing projects
bathroom cleanings
today we are playing memory, watching kids' shows, drinking coffee and
playing playdoh.
hope your thursday is productive and pretty.
it's snowing here….and that is just plain pretty.
ding!
laundry is done…gotta go.
Oh, I have to get some candles that my daughter can use with her playdough to make birthday cakes! She’d LOVE that. Thanks for the beautiful photo inspiration! Oh, I have to get some candles that my daughter can use with her playdough to make birthday cakes! She’d LOVE that. Thanks for the beautiful photo inspiration!
Hey….I found your blog a couple of weeks ago and have loved looking at all of your beautiful pictures! Your house is gorgeous!! Just wanted to comment and let you know how happy I am for you about the washer. I have one like that and I love it…and mine is white too! Also, I have that hot chocolate maker. My mom gave it to me a couple of years ago for Christmas and I just recently started using it. We now live in northern Indiana (used to live in the south) and so warm drinks are such a treat! It also came with a recipe book with a ton of different recipes for yummy warm drinks….so I think it is a great buy if you can find one. Have a great weekend! Leigh Ann Floor models are THE way to go! Ours was a wedding gift from my dad and brand new, but we still got a discount because of a little bitty ding on the bottom front! Hallelujah! Have fun doing your laundry! Oh, and I would LOVE to have a hot chocolate machine!! Where can I find one? Wal-Mart maybe?
I certainly hope he bought you the matching dryer!!! love the playdough cupcake! so much fun…and if someone could please send a laundry fairy to my house to get the laundry room floor cleared up, that would be fab!
I have 6 children and I just got the same washer, it is a life saver!! We lived in England for 3 years and I had a very small washer that was in a cabinet in the kitchen………the dryer was part of the same machine, so after the wash cycle was complete it would go to the dry cycle. It took about 2 1/2 hours to do one load…………and a full load would be like 4 bath towels………that is NO JOKE….
I have a hot chocolate maker. I love it! But I love hot chocolate.
I don’t know how I found you from over here in the South of England but I’m so glad I have! I absolutely LOVE your photography. So so SO inspiring! Thank you
Our washing machine is dead too…so sad. We are on the hunt for a new one. It is hard to live without a washing machine and I only have one kid! :o) I loved the Father of the Bride quote. That is my all time favorite movie. Today would be a good day to watch it. The pictures that you posted of Ike yesterday are precious. You did such a good job!
i loved it when i got my new washer and dryer. it’s pretty bad when we get excited over appliances. that hot chocolate maker looks neat. perfect for a day like today. very cold here – no school because it’s so cold.
I’m glad you survived the days without a washer. The new one looks fabulous! You are such a good FUN mom–play-doh everywhere!
we received a cocoamotion for christmas this year and already that little machine has been put to use! i LOVE hot chocolate and this way is so quick and easy…i definitely recommend getting one!! I got a hot chocolate machine at a dirty santa Christmas party this year. We love it! I would never have bought it for myself, but I am so glad I brought that home! It makes the best frothy hot chocolate. Mine doess’t have to cool spout though.
I admit, I have my eye on the red set too… but if we got a good deal, I’m sure I’d take the “plain” color. We’ve done lots of reading, writing and vocabulary here, and now the girls are playing dolls. Does that HC machine prevent the spills of chocolate down the front of someone’s shirt every single time we make hot cocoa? Oh, well, that’s where that snazzy washer would come in handy. π
I have a washing machine very similar to yours and i LOVE it. I got it two years ago for christmas and I still talk about how much I love it. That is a BIG deal. Congrats! And I do know what you mean about the extra cash for colors. Crazy. I still have a ghetto drier…someday (hopefully before they totally change the design and they still don’t match!).
I long for the day I get to buy a new washer and dryer. A couple years ago I bought my son a hot chocolate maker at wal-mart for Christmas – he loves hot chocolate and loved getting the machine! It was cheap (compared to some, I’m sure) and still works today. It was maybe $30. Enjoy the beauty of the snow – we have it here in Ohio too. Hooray baby ike.
he is going to be something special with that name.
what a sweet little guy he is.
i am planning on holding him every chance i get.
don't you just want to kiss those toes?
i love kissing baby feet.
he's smiling.
and my favorite….
that face! he looks like he wants a kiss!
thanks for spending the morning with me missy.
i am already in love with mr ike.
I just want to say that your pictures are beautiful. I wanted to email you but I couldn’t find your email address anywhere on the blog…lol. Anyway, I was just wondering on how you price for the photos? I am currently thinking about starting this wonderful career of photography but, I don’t know much on how to price. Do you do special package deals? Is there some specific sites that you have gone to for information? I was wondering if you would share some ideas or advice, from your personal experience??? yes? Thanks!
His toes are absolutely edible. I can’t wait to kiss our little girls toes and her tender little head. Seeing Ike makes our soon-to-arrive bundle of joy seem a little more real. Thanks for sharing. i am in baby love with ike…i’m not gonna lie! i too lvoe those baby toes!
How adorable
wow! i THOUGHT i was done…
What a beautiful baby boy -the pictures are amazing. I have loved reading your blog this past month. It has become a favorite to check daily.
I love that baby! Why is it that when my youngest turns about 13 months old….I want another baby? Gosh, they’re so sweet. Ike makes me want another….I don’t think our pocket book could handle it. You did an awesome job with these pictures, I LOVE the one of him in the basket on the table. I showed it to my almost 4 yr. old little girl and she about had a fit of ooooo’s and ahhhhh’s. {she loves babies, she about squeezed her baby brothers head off when he was born} π Oh my goodness, he made me completely and hopelessly baby hungry! you should totally enter this in the ‘iheartfaces.com’ kids’ faces contest. it is too cute! i want to eat him up, or have another baby, hmmm… Oh how I love polka dots!
what a doll. those blue jeans just melt my heart. you know, feet are only cute on babies and toddlers. kissable cute. I think he looks like Clint in the last one π Oh he is so precious – I can’t wait to hold him. Beautiful pictures Meg. It almost makes me want to have another – shhhhh don’t tell Russ. They will love having these pictures. these are just gorgeous, stunning. great work! Oh my gosh, those feet are delicious. What a beautiful baby. And I just adore that first picture of him in the basket. ohmeetoo! I am in love. i keep seeing all these babies. everywhere babies. my hubby says no more. i say just one. one more just like this one. i miss having a baby to snuggle. love the red background and red outfit photo!! can you say PRECIOUS?!?!
things feel a little crazy around here.
tonight there are 4 things on the calendar.
all at the same time.
the washing machine broke last week.
a sweet old repair man ordered a new motor for it and came back to fix it.
i ran a load and it died.
dead.
he said "well….i guess it your transmission…you'd better buy yourself a new washer"
we haven't done laundry since last saturday!
sean and i were talking on wednesday night after church.
sean: mom…if you could come back from Heaven would you want to?
me: it's probably so wonderful there that i would want to stay sean.
sean: i wouldn't. you'd be a prisoner.
you'd have to wear sandals all the time.
and sandals feel crappy.
and you'd have to wear ragged clothes.
i just want to wear my original clothes.
and then he left the room.
What fabulous photos. The dog ones are precious. that is all too crazy. I love the heaven stuff. Pretty much all my reasons for not wanting to be a missionary when I was a kid. lol. hahahahahaha first of all, the pictures are hysterical!! waffle is a trouper. and sean, what a vision of heaven he has. very cute. it will be fun to run that one by him in about 20 years, see if his ideas of heaven has changed at all. Waffles in glasses is the best. My husband saw it too and laughed and laughed. I hear you sister! I am so far behind that I am praying for a snow day just so I can catch up! SO SO cute! Love kid quotes. And cute dog pictures. Funniest dog picture EVER! π I needed a good laugh this afternoon … Thanks! I love the picture of Waffles with the glasses! Love it! I hope you get some clean clothes soon. And I hope we don’t have to wear sandals in heaven. If so I hope they’re comfy and cute Borns. π
I guess I never really thought about the requirement of wearing ragged clothes in heaven…Streets of gold and ragged clothes. π I remember thinking as a little girl that the best thing about heaven was that there would be apples bigger than my head. I think my big brother told me that, and it made a huge impression.
uummmm….hilarious!!! i love all the photos! bum about the washer situation….check out your area to see if you have a “scratch and dent” sears….c & i got our $3000 3 door refridge there for $1200 because of a golf ball size dent in one of the doors, but i cover it with a fun magnet and you would never even know it was there. they always have a ton of washers and dryers!! They can be difficult to find because they don’t usually list them on the sears website…but they are worth hunting down! Coming out of lurkerdom to say that first picture is one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time. ok…let me get this straight. the dog’s name is waffle? LOVE IT. the pics are great. love the wig of course. Picutres! Hilarious!!!!! thanks for the 5am laugh! Good way to start my day. And Sean….so funny. No sandals needed to walk on streets of gold π And good thing you just paid that guy lots of money so now you can buy a new washer. Big Sigh. Hope you get it figured out soon so you can find the bottom of your laundry room again.
Love the pink wig! Hilarious! Poor washing machine. Enjoy the excuse for not doing laundry π I don’t know if anyone else will see the resemblance, but Waffles looks like a tired Jon Lennon in the last photo – LOL! I just LOVE kid convo posts!!! And, I know how you love cute hand-sewn etsy finds. Etsy item of your choice giveaway over at my place! Check it. OH MY GOSH!!! I’m rolling on the floor of that picture with Waffle in the pink wig!!! LOVE IT! And those lampshades (from your last post) TO.DIE.FOR! I sooo want them!!!! that picture of the dog is priceless, you need to enter it in some kind of contest……………it is soooo funny. waffle is hands down the cutest dog i’ve ever seen. i think i’m in love with him….does he have brothers? hee hee!
Poor dog, he need more love…….
Doggie in glasses is HILARIOUS!!!!!
I am dying right now. Laughing so hard I may pee my pants. That was the best post I have seen all day. :0)
well thanks meg, (and jenn) my washing machine caught what your machines got and now mine is spilling water out of the bottom. maybe we could get a discount for multiple purchases π i laughed so hard at the pictures of waffle that i snorted π i bought a cute blond wig for miley after halloween for 95 cents, she didn’t sit nearly as still as waffle did, but it was too funny. sean and his sandles…priceless. I shared your blog with my sister b/c of your dog. She loves him (her?) too. What kind is it? π
Cute photos! π And don’t you just love the thought patterns of kids. π Hope you enjoy your new washer…maybe now is the time to get one of those HUGE ones that does a ton at once…one of my good friends (with four boys) bought one and swears it changed her life. π
diana's husband gave her an awesome gift for her 40th birthday. a trip away with her friends for 3 nights!
just after christmas when we needed it so much.
it was such a nice time!
we wore our jammies the entire time…watching chick flicks…working on crafty stuff.
there were five scrapbookers and then pam and i worked on sewing projects.
yes..we both brought our sewing machines with us.
i made those curtains i was talking about with the red damask fabric…love that fabric.
diana lives in a house of boys….her husband and three sons.
they picked out this sweet girlie cake for her
and we got to eat it!
of course there were pillow fights.
with girlish screams and giggling.
we were way out in the middle of nowhere kansas almost to nebraska…
perfect for getting projects completed.
there was nowhere to go.
except walmart and sonic.
pam brought her laptop so i wasn't completely without internet.
(THANK YOU PAM!!)
i thought i was going to have the shakes if i couldn't use a computer for three days.
good food, good friends, laughing and getting to know pam and julie.
julie came all the way from texas for di's 40th!
wow.
there were only 3 of us left on the last morning
but we still managed to fill the back half of a 15 passenger van with our stuff!
and i got to drive that bad boy home (and attempt to pull into a sonic stall….yikes.)
and since i had no cute kids to photograph in front of this shed…that i loved…seriously….
amy took my picture!
with my lampshades i made on saturday night.
i am such a dork.
diana….happy 40th girlfriend.
lee….thank you again for a great time with the girls.
i am just so thankful for girlfriends.
(p.s….my friend jana is out of the hospital already…wowie-wow-wow!)
Gosh, this sounds like so much fun! Love the pillow fights…I haven’t done that in years, long years! So glad you and your friends had a wonderful time and got to make so many goodies! Love the shed pic…oh and those lamp shades…too darn cute! Yummy cake looks good!
What a wonderful gift and weekend! Love the lampshades! Where was the retreat at? I live in nowhere Kansas (Leavenworth/Lansing actually) and am only 2 hrs from Nebraska. Wow- that looks like such a good time! And I love those shades!
oooh, how fun was that!!!
i kind of like catching up on your life in one big lump like that. It goes up and down, there are always smiley kid faces, and great photographs, and friends, and food—and it’s just so real. Praying for Jana. And loving your lampshades! I need my husband to do this for me!!!!
How can I tell my husband I want THIS!?? What a fun trip!
There’s nothing like a hot momma with a couple a nice lamp shades, you CRACK me UP!!!!
oh such fun! I’ve had weekends like this with good, very good, girlfriends. The back of that van looks amazingly familiar! Your lampshades are FANTASTIC! Kelly The lampshades are gorgeous! I’m impressed! I LOVE those lamp shades! Excellent. so glad to hear the good news about your friend jana…answered prayer…no other explanation for it! your play time with the girls looked like a ton of fun…AND you got to go home with those fabulous lamp shades!! life is good, huh?! π I love what you guys did for Jana, she has some special friends. Looks like a great way to spend a 40th. Man, another 17 months and I will be there, dread thinking about it. Would love to know how you made those lampshades. You make me smile when I need to the most. There is no better way to spend a birthday!
Love the lampshades!!!!!!! I WANT the lampshades:) I love damask fabric. Glad you had a good time. Hope it helped you out of the funk you were in:)
SO GLAD to hear your friend is out of the hospital. Can you believe I’ve never been to Sonic? I see the commercials but have never seen one in CA. Your weekend sounds like a DREAM. I LOVE the shades you made. I just bought my very first sewing machine a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know what to do with it though. I just look at it! I wonder if I’ll ever be able to make the things you do….doubt it! At least I can TRY! What a fun time y’all looked to be having! I can’t wait to see where you put the lamp shades and curtains! Girlfriend getaways are the best! Love the lampshades-where will you be putting them? Are those difficult to make?
Now THAT is one good husband. How fun! And that fabric on the lampshades? I have pillows in that fabric on my couch. I LOVE it! That looks like an absolute blast! I’m so glad you guys got to have some great times together and that darling girly cake….oh, man! how wonderful that your friend is out of the hospital already. the power of prayer. looks like you gals had a great time. i love girlfriends and getaways – put them together and it’s the best.
this was different for me.
i haven't photographed such a big group before.
they stand so still just waiting to be told what to do….
and grownups smile when they are supposed to….how nice!
so different from children.
the cutie in the pink vest was talby's kindergarten teacher.
and also cora's mom.
talby got to come along with me for this session so she could spend some time with her.
there was a new grandbaby….named tripp.
isn't that adorable?
they put the baby in his stocking!
his sister got to hold him and kiss him….so sweet.
and she was rewarded with candy.
this one made me laugh out loud when it came up on the screen.
she was trying to get everyone smile like they 'd done for her…shaking that rattle.
but she ran right in front of me.
it's not good for me to be around babies.
i just want to keep them.
i come home and ask for another baby but craig keeps saying no.
i guess i was lucky just to get waffle.
he is just yummy.
and this one is in just to keep it real.
this is how it goes for my family so i am always happy to see we aren't the only ones.
trying to get pictures with little ones gets tricky.
this was a fun day.
thanks kathy for asking me…i'm glad you like them.
looking forward to next year. :)
Beautiful family…and great pics that you capture! super job meg. i love the outside one in the playhouse. Um, could you just drop by Portland, Maine sometime this week to take a few shots of my new baby? The photos I’ve taken of her are nowhere near as nice as these. Please? I’ll make lunch and provide good coffee. What a beautiful family! Tripp is super cute! Yea, I’m done with babies though π My little Mac dog is all I can handle these days π Beautiful photos of course π
Those pictures came out great- even the, maybe especially the, “keeping it real” ones ! Your photos are gorgeous. And so is baby Tripp. I wanna babysit. π The pictures are great! I love the first one. My mom is SOOOOOO happy with them! Your photography is awesome Megan. I am so glad you brought Talby too. She is a sweetie. It was fun to see her. Thanks again…I can’t wait for you to take Cora’s pictures again. :o) Those pictures…and my two friends at church due ANY DAY make me want a baby NOW! Love the pictures. That baby is just PERFECT!!!! As far as Craig saying no to another baby I was always taught since the women carries and takes care of the baby mostly it is up to HER!! lol…Seriously, if you got pregnant would he say…Crap, no way! lol….I say, have no regrets and if you want another…have another!
That first picture is awesome! I can picture it blown up huge over a fireplace! You did well for your first large family – they aren’t easy to do!! What a good looking bunch. You did a great job!
