sassy

my kids don't go to get their haircut.

it's always been by me….just easier that way.

but i thought annie would look so cute with a sassy little haircut so i took her to miss amy.

they asked "have you ever cut a kid's hair before?"
they are so oblivious to what they are missing out on.
don't all moms cut their kids hair??
as far as they know.

IMG_1208-4

her friend micah was over for a playdate/babysitting so he kept her entertained.
professional haircuts take a little more time than moms.

crazy annie runs a hair dryer?

it's layered and short in the back…..super cute.

then look at this monsterous globe amy picked up at a garage sale for me?!!!!

IMG_1224-1
it's hard to tell but it's HUGE.
i love it.
a lot.

סמנכ"ל כספים - beautiful hair style. I like this baby hairstyle. Stay up the good work! I never found such a great and amazing hairstyle.

sara's art house - LOVE the globe 🙂

shelley - oh wow..we got a new globe for Jude’s room this weekend too ! well not new..thrifted and fixed up. Jude is the one who actually spotted it..i am training him young.

Katie - I am seriously jealous of a little kid`s haircut. Annie looks adorable!

Christy - Super cute cut! and I love the globe

Heather - Such a sweet haircut!!!

ashley jensen - I cut my daughters hair too. It’s down to her waist and I just cut a straight line. I only took her to my stylist once because they way her baby hair grew out was all funky in the back so we had it fixed. Come to think of it my mom and I cut each others hair when I was younger too.

Claire Jones - I remember as kid I hated getting haircuts, absolutely hated it! I am surprised that the kids not only let you cut their hair but that they did it so happily! What’s your trick?!

Kristin S - Annie looked adorable before but this is one sassy cut. Love the layers in the bangs too.

cassi - My daughter got the same haircut two weeks ago. Very cute!

Janine - You cracked me up with “Don’t all moms cut their kids hair”. My mom is a hairdresser & teacher (of cosmetology) so I have never sat in a salon chair in all my life! I’m not kidding. Bathroom, kitchen, or back deck is where I have had my haircuts. I love Annie’s new hairstyle. So chic!

lisa - What a cutie pie! I love globes too – have you seen this? How fun would this be? If only I could part with one of my globes to make it:
http://charmedlifeliving.tumblr.com/post/4271448840

melissa rice - your new pic is cute!! fits your personality

deborah@applesinwonderland - i cut all the boys hair in this house. they don’t trust the professionals. hahaha. true. annie looks adorable no matter what–momma haircut of miss amy haircut. put something that is of a standard size to compare object sizes–like a penny or a baseball. i have baseball on the brain….or for brains. whatev. 🙂

Robin - I LOVE Annie’s hair! I always kept my youngest hair cut into a short style when she was younger…it was sooo cute on her! I am not one of those moms that think little girls hair needs to be long! Whatever!

Jess - Miss Annie looks adorable. Love the new haircut!

Jessica - So I don’t know if you read all these comments but if you read this one you’ll probably get a kick out of it. My mom reads your blog so it’s pulled up on our computer a lot and I started to read it. I think I’m reading it too much because last night I had a dream that I was with your family and we were at a huge carnival eating cotton candy but right before the carnival started my alarm clock but we had a lot of fun up until then! 🙂

tiffany - cute new cut. and ur new pic is pretty too.

sharron - what a sweetie pie she is!
love her new do!
i typed in whatever blob instead of blog..haha i need jillian!

Jes - Love the cut Annie! (and as a hairdresser and a mom i know it takes patience!)
I also double-love the globe, I am a sucker for globes and maps.
I just got Ella an awesome map that I found on Etsy through a post on Ohdeedoh- beautiful stuff!!

karen - so cute…she is perfect for that bob.

Carol S - Adorable. Hope it’s an easy fluff and go style for her, those are the best. Gosh think of all you’ve saved over the years cutting hair on your own! She looks like she felt like a queen. It is such a nice luxury.

Terrie G - Love Annie’s new ‘do’! Love your new profile pic too!

Sarah@this farm family's life - So cute. My girls get to wear a cloak just like that when they get their hair cut.

Annika - Cute hair! I also love the jungle cloak! Do only kids get to wear it?

Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails - Annie’s hair looks exactly like my 5 year old’s. We LOVE it and I cant tell you how many (adults) have asked where she gets her haircut b/c they want her cut. So funny:)
Oh and Im totally drooling over that beautiful globe. Why the heck cant I find any around here? And the only one Ive ever found was 25 buckaroonies! I dont think so people!
I did just find a wall map in our attic and hung it in our living room as a window shade. GUess thats the only mappish thing I’ll ever own. Stupid high pricers!
XO,
Sarah

Kimberly Dial - Adorable!

Kimberly Dial - Adorable!

Kirsten J - Oh girl, let me tell you, we had CVS for my last one ( I’m kind of old, and testing was important to me… ) and so…. I got the happy phone call “It’s a healthy, normal girl!” And my first thought…” how do I fix girl hair???? I only know buzz cuts!!! ”
To this day (she is 11) I struggle to figure it out. A trip to the beauty shop = priceless.

Kacey - Super cute! Very cool globe. I always get excited when I acquire a new one, too!
Kacey

Bailey - That is totally how my 5 year old would spell dryer because he pronounces “dr” as “jr” too funny! Her hair is cute and very sassy!

Lisa - Annie is seriously adorable!

Kristin Bommer - adorableness!!!

Jenny B. - She looks even more adorble than before! 🙂 Awesome globe.

Kimberlee Jost - Annie looks adorable.
Love the globe…great job Amy!

danielle - annie looks adorable. i love it 🙂

Julia - I love her friend’s drawing!

MaryLea @ pink and green mama - Adorable!! That was “C”s hair cut for the longest time and now she wants it long but I want to cut it short again in a bob for summer.
the globe is A-W-E-S-ome!!!!
xoxo MaryLea

Four Flights - Do you even cut Lauren’s hair? I can’t imagine a teen girl letting her mom cut her hair. Inquiring minds want to know!

Vera - SO cute!! Do you cut boy hair too?? I have always cut my girls’ hair, but my 14 month old son has straight thin hair and I’m scared if I try to cut it (when the time comes!) I will totally mess up and give him bald patches or something!!

Angie P - What a great day! Super cute haircut and a great globe find!

happygirl - Such a Cute Haircut. Just sayin’, I’m a huge believer in Dolly Parton’s character Truvy’s comment in Steele Magnolia, “I don’t like her. I don’t trust anyone who does their own hair. I don’t think it’s natural.”
Love that movie.

Leah - Annie’s hair is adorable. I always cut Sophie’s bangs myself, which doesn’t always bring good results. Luckily my baby sister is a hair stylist. So we just go to Aunti Kayli for free cuts.

Holly - Love Annies hair! Super cute! I am jealous of that globe! I havent seen many of them when I go out shopping at all lately!

mel @ the larson lingo - her hair cut is ADORABLE, just like her!!!! I am tempted to do that to Kate’s this summer!

Cindy - love, love, love the hair!! so cute!! beautiful smile too!!

Alicia @ La Famille - what a cutie!! and how you find a hair stylist that also picks up antiques for you?!? love the globe…i also have a thing for ’em 🙂

Penny - Oh, I love her hair! So cute. I also love that globe. I am on the lookout for globes. You have inspired me to redecorate my family room! I am never lucky enough to find cool things. I find old crock pots and VHS tapes at garage sales!

georgia - Cute…. I think u could do the same style though if you wanted to 🙂 x

Lisa Currie-Gurney - <3
Hugs From My Heart

Molly Pearce - I love the cut! Super cute! My mom has the same cape as Amy has,she uses it when she cuts kids hair too 🙂

checkin’ in with you…..

ok….

i have some stuff to tell you and some questions to ask.

1.  i am still doing Ripped in 30 with jillian michaels.

     IMG_1227-2

     so far…..i am not ripped.
there is the one day of the month left & i should be done tomorrow but i am only on work out #17 today.
i am not sure if she means ripped in 30 days or 30 workouts.
but i am going to do 30 workouts either way.

2.  yesterdays video.
     thanks for all the encouragement!
talby came up with her questions and annie stole some….which made her mad.
sean came up with his own.
the original video was 8 minutes long….so you got the best 4 minutes.
     it was fun.
i will definitely do it again.

3.  did you see that we helped raise $17,093 for sergey!!!
     that is amazing….GOD is amazing!
     God's timing is perfect.
i am so thankful that danielle gave me the opportunity to serve.

     Danielle_fund_logo

and grateful for each of you that GAVE!!
i mean really….you are helping a baby get a mama!  AWESOME.

go check and see if you won any of those fabulous prizes….especially if your name is jennifer!
     lucky girl!

4.   should i be on twitter?

      2382680812_34858bec65

      why?
what do you people talk about over there?
what am i missing out on?

5.  there is one more day for the gatorade giveaway.
go over there and leave a comment and you might win a $100 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods.

      Gatorade-g-series

if i won i would use it for sports bras.
     exciting right?
not really cool shoes or cute workout clothes…….boring bras.
because if you need a serious sports bra they are expensive.
     jillian….doesn't even wear one!

some of her "moves" i can't physically do because there is stuff in the way….if you know what i mean.

but you can spend your $100 any way you'd like.

————————————————————————————————————————

and that's it for my friday.

it's pizza for dinner and a movie on the couch.

and i got a netflix for me after the kids go to bed….Parenthood….the MOVIE.
one of my most favorite movies ever.
(probably a PG rated trailer….fyi)

the show is so good because the movie was so good.
and REAL.

Natasha - Twitter and FB are VERY different… FB is more static, whereas Twitter is an ongoing conversation (think telephone party line, but without the creepy, scuzzy connotation). Should you be on twitter? Depends what you hope to gain…
I loved FB from the moment I started. I like that your profile page is your landing point to post photos and let friends know what’s going on in your life. By contrast, I’ve found Twitter most useful when I’m at a public event/location or watching something major on tv (e.i. Royal Wedding, news-worthy item, current episode of American Idol) and I want to know what others think about it, right now, as it’s happening…
In general, I’ve found that with Twitter I don’t use my “profile” as the primary point of interaction, like I would with FB; instead, I use the search feature. You can search any topic under the sun that you would want to have a conversation about. Most often I can just throw in my 2 cents with a tweet, but sometimes I’ll also respond to something someone else has said.
Did that make sense? If not, just email me, and I’ll try to say it better!

andrea - just a comment on the exercising: yes, you probably are supposed to do 30 in 30 days but… does she have 5 kids? does she clean the house? wash the clothes? fix their dinner? drive them here, there and everywhere? I look at it as you did MORE THAN one every other day (17 in 30)! THAT IS AWESOME!
Also, understand the sports bra thing, that is why I will never, ever be a runner!

Whitney S - I have Twitter, but to be honest I am not sure what the point of it is. Maybe I just am not funny enough 🙂
It doesn’t matter if you’re not “ripped” after 30 days- at least you’re doing it. I did Slim in 6 from Beach Body and noticed some results, but not the results they said I would. I guess it depends on what your definition of “ripped” is 🙂
AND I love Both Parenthoods too! When he loses his retainer it makes me think back to searching for mine in the McDonald’s trash again- Steve Martin is a lot funnier looking for it than my dad! 🙂

Shaina Brown - I have to admit you inspired me to go out and by Jillian’s dvd, did a solid 10 days and pulled my “hammi” so bad that I had to take 2 days off. darn squats! I will be back at it tomorrow, but I think I will be mixing in some yoga as well. thinking my body needs a little extra stretching and not so much squatting! not sure if your cable provider has on demand, but on the exercise channel you can do all of her workouts for free!!!

Corinne - Im sure you’re kicking some major bootie in your jillian workout!
I had to weigh in on the twitter…umm, maybe not…bc if you tweeted I would have to join to see your awesome tweets…and well, I don’t really want to understand the whole twitter craze…so its for selfish reason! 😉
either way…love love your blog…thank you for letting into your fun life and your creative ideas!
Enjoy your weekend!

Staci - I’m cracking up…”it’s been 30 days…and I am not ripped!” I love it 😉 We need to stream Parenthood…haven’t seen it in a lonnnng time 😉 Happpy Weekending Duerksen FamilY!!!

Holly - Laughing at your Jillian video because I have been ignoring her lately. I need to talk with her though because my junk food habit is kicking my booty!

Stefanie @ eatsleepandrun.blogspot.com - Stick with the workout! I did it for 2 months before I hit a “giving up” day. And I never hit that day because I got toned (I’m not ripped) and lost 32 pounds! Stop drinking soda (if you do drink it) its not doing any favors for ya 🙂
I eat healthy, but I don’t “diet” – you’ll see results. Hang in there. I also do her yoga workout which I love, even though I hate yoga and I do her No More Trouble Zones DVD too – its 50 minutes long and gets rid of all those areas that you get after pregnancy. You know, those areas we pretend to be proud of but we really hate 🙂
Twitter is AWESOME! You’re not on there? I knew someone was missing. I love it. Its way better than Facebook. A great way to stay up with news and current events with out all the photos and jabber and back and forth. I love it. You will too. Its the opposite of Facebook because its takes seconds to get through, where FB can take hours of your day.

Alicia @ La Famille - i was doing jullian’s 30 day shred…maybe i should try yours…looks like it’s going well 🙂 definately do another video…very cool! and i don’t have a clue what twitter is/does. seems like another time zapper 🙂 ha!!

Carrie - Awesome fund raising…just amazing what you have accomplished so far! Keep it up♥
You should be proud of your hard work with Jillian…she is not an easy trainer to please!

betsy - Have to give my 2 cents on Twitter … I’m on it & share more there than I do on my (writing) blog or FB these days. Even if you don’t share a lot on Twitter, it’s a nice way to find people that have the same interests as you do: crafts, photography, kids, sewing, charity, etc. and then share ideas and support.
I’d definitely follow you … but if you feel like you’re overwhelmed with what is already on your plate, then it might not be for you.
I DO have to tell you that I’m L-O-V-I-N-G that you’ve had a new post every day for quite some time. I come from work each night and check all of my Top Sites on my MBP that are updated … in order from sort-of care about, to like to read, to LOVE to read as the last ones I check. I always check your blog updates right before I check updates about my niece on my sister’s blog.
Keep it up!
P.S. Thank goodness Spring has finally decided to show up in Kansas 🙂

Carol S - Oh, Parenthood is SUCH a classic! Loved it then, haven’t seen it in awhile. Liked your video yesterday, too, super fun, did I tell you that? You are so real and your kids are cool and totally normal. That’s nice. Thanks for blogging so much, it’s fun to read new stuff daily. I have Jillian…have tried her two months with mixed success, never more than 15 days. It’s the darn weekends that kill me…Mon-Fri keep me on the wagon. Just keep going!!

Necole - Twitter is fun. It is just another way to express yourself. I wish I knew what it was like to need a sports bra. Nothing has ever gotten in my way but my bug butt. Parenthood is such a great movie.

Jessica Johnson - i give you a big, huge green light on twitter. it’s weird at first but fun, too. but still weird. oh jillian. i wanted to rip her eyes out in 30 seconds. i LOVE that you drew on her. especially a pirate hat.

Routhie - Don’t waste your time. I was on twitter ages ago and it was only fun when a few friends were on, which was usually a holiday. Otherwise, it’s lost on anyone who actually has things to get done during the day. Prolly why so many celebs are on. I had friends who would think it funny to tweet about 60 times in a row. That got old and it took longer to see what other friends were tweeting. FB is distracting enough.

Jenniferjkeating - I was going to send you a note and let you know that one of your followers was the big winner in Sergy’s fundraiser. I feel very lucky but Terrie is right on….Sergy is the luckier one! He is going to be surrounded by so much love! We have two kids that are adopted and two that are biological and it’s all the same love. My husband was also adopted when he was three so adoption is very close to my heart. I am so happy that they are closer to bringing him home. I can’t wait to see pictures of him in his new home surrounded by his brother and sisters and his Mom and Dad. 🙂

Terrie - 1. Love that I’m excited about the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie from your drawing on Jillian.
2. Loved the ‘normalness’ of the video…Mad Mommy…LOL!!
3. Lucky Jennifer…but even LUCKIER Sergey!!
4. I don’t get Twitter…but I love facebook! I can interact with many peeps I wouldn’t normally get to stay connected with.
5. Almost missed the gatorade giveaway
6. I’ll get right online and get my Summer mag order in! 🙂
Enjoy your movie…I’m going to catch up on Grey’s & Private Practice while doing a pedi. I’ve spent the whole day watching the royal wedding. Now I’m going to catch up on some other dvr’d goodies while the men are out of the house! Have a great weekend!!

Jennifer W - My husband told me that twitter is like facebook without the games.
You made my heart skip a beat when you stated that someone named Jennifer won! It wasn’t me but, still happy I donated to bring that sweet baby home!
Happy weekend!

Michelle from Australia - I’m not a fan of Twitter. To me blogs are written with purpose. Twitter isn’t. Just my thought for what it is worth….

happygirl - You should do twitter. It will increase your traffic. just sayin’ I’m trying to increase traffic and all the cool blog experts say to do it. That’s all I have. And, I tweeted about Parenthood (the movie) yesterday as being TRUTH. Great minds, eh?

Mindy Harris - meg–i too would spend the $100 on 1.5 sports bras.
i am on twitter but don’t spend alot of time on it. it’s just another way for me to network as i grow my blog. and you can be a bit more confident (ballsy–sorry to use that word) on there because you know you may never meet the people.
i follow brook burke on twitter and tweet to her. she never writes back but at least she knows a kansas girl finds her beautiful and inspiring (she’s a good mom and eats right).
happy wknd!

jeannett - ha! we watched parenthood on on demand a few nights ago. loved. it. loved. but i like the tv show better.
as for twitter, don’t do it. it’s a time suck. the end.

Kacey - Well, I’m really not one to be offering advice, given that I didn’t make it through the full 30 days myself, but I say go for it and don’t worry if it’s supposed to be 30 days in a row. You’ll feel accomplished and you’ll feel better physically. Me, I’m a wimp and I’m going to stick with my fat-burning Pilates, which I actually love. That reminds me…
Have a lovely weekend!
Kacey
P.S. I’m on the fence about Twitter. I can’t keep up and my life is too boring for regular updates about what I’m doing (same thing with Facebook) but I’m there anyway. I just tweet occasionally when there’s something worth tweeting about!

nicole @ deliajude - parenthood is the best ever…especially the roller coaster of it all.

Linda@Restyled Home - Don’t waste your time with Twitter. it is boring…truly. An outlet for way too much randomness, if you ask me.
Or maybe I jsut haven’t really figured it out. I don’t know. I jsut know that there are enough time suckers and it will infringe upon your being such a fun mum. Real life is so much more fun!
Love your Gillian Micheals doodles. Especially the angry belly button. It is probably saying, “feed me!” ;0)

Adrienne S - I am so with you on the sports bra! Why are they so expensive? Next up you should try P90X. Totally worth it.

alyssa - I stopped reading this post so I could say this. Her boobs hang out all the time. It drives me nuts. Maybe you should use your gift card to get her a bra!

Leah - I vote for no Twitter. Don’t get me wrong; I’m on Twitter and I use it. But honestly, it’s just one more thing to manage. You don’t need it. You have such a great group of loyal followers to your blog and we’re going to read you no matter what. So I really don’t think you need to add Twitter to your mix. But if you do, I’ll follow you.

julia - Didn’t want to be a downer but I have a 30 vid of Jillian’s and it totally bulked me up and I didn’t lose any weight. She actually says in her video that your muscles will get bigger and that your bigger leg muscles will make your ankles look smaller (IKIDYOUNOT).
I do posts titled “I don’t do Twitter, but if I did, this is what I would Tweet”

Diana - Love the drawing on Jillian, LOL! Very… original. Hehe. My son and daughter-in-law did the whole Biggest Loser thing, all the dvds and such (they lost 75 and 65 pounds!)… I asked DIL and she says it means ripped in 30 days.
I was on twitter for several months. For me, it became a fad whose time had passed. I prefer my facebook because I can do everything on it, even blog.

janene - I like twitter–not as universal as FB (which I quit eight weeks ago and don’t miss: )–can check out posts of people I follow…don’t have all the family/friends following and I can just keep up or check out what friends in the blogosphere are up to.

sue - Did you watch the Royal Wedding Meg.?

Sophie - I think you should get a Twitter and give it a go! You can just tweet things about your day and talk to all your readers and stuff. I make it sound boring, but it’s really not. I’d follow you!
Also, I’ve talked to some of my favourite celebrities on there (the best one being Tom Felton who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, who is pretty much my idol) so it’s a great opportunity to talk to your favourite stars.
Danielle should feel so blessed that you helped to raise so much for Sergey. I donated $80, and ended up winning Charlaanne’s pink flower pin which was unexpected. Totally not why I donated, obviously, but a nice surprise none the less.
The video was super cute and I can’t wait to see more! (:

amy - I think I need to go back and watch Parenthood now that I am in the thick of it, I forgot how funny that movie was 🙂

georgia - I think Jillians dvd is for 30days, but 30 workouts would be the same im guessing as you only doi it once a day… ?
Im just getting round to the Twitter idea.. its like facebook but you can only write status’s and reply to other peoples, like celebritys, friends etc
Did you see the royal wedding on tv? made me feel totally patriotic was nice watching it on tv..

Janelle - I vote no for Twitter.
I ordered Jillian but now I have decided just to see how ripped you are in 30 to determine if I should do it or not 🙂 Just my way of procrastinating once again!

april - um meg….Im pretty sure jillain is pissed you drew all over her, but I love it!!! Dont worry I wont forward this to her…hahahaha The video WAS awesome and I cant wait to see the next one! I thought it was so cute that julie won your hoodie….fate man…fate!
xoxo

Beth - Love. Great vlog. Can’t wait to see more 🙂

BULLYMAMA - I loved your video…I was a little nervous to watch it because I thought that hearing your voice would change the way I read your blog (if you know what I mean). The weird thing was that after watching the video I feel like I’ve known you for years…can’t figure out if you remind me of someone else that I know or because I have been reading your blog for so long that it all goes together. Anyways it was great and I loved your reactions to the kids arguing in the background it looked just like something I picture myself doing!!

Tonya - Your kids are beautiful! Talby really looks like you.

Heidi - That was great! I had to laugh at Annie’s question of living in a small house with no noise or a big one that was noisy- I’m always complaining about the level of noise in my house. 🙂
Loved the video.

Shannon K. (wichita, Ks) - Good Job Meg! Keep up the vloging!!

connie libby - I LOVED this! Best vlog I’ve seen so far from anyone!!!! I want to comment on your blog all the time but I’m too shy! I just couldn’t help myself this time, you are such a precious momma and I loved seeing your kids and hearing your voice! Waffle too! SO CUTE!I think I’ll go find a green sweater to wear with my navy polka dot shirt now, you look great! 🙂

Chelsea - Hey Meg, I’ve been a reader for a couple years, and I just wanted to leave a quick comment of encouragement. The vlog was great, it gave all of us readers just a little peak into life with Meg’s family. Great job, super sweet kids, and what a creative way to share a bit about your life! Keep ’em coming! Have a good weekend!

kari - so fun, meg. made me smile.

Heidi Jo the Artist - Love the super big RED round table. I don’t like our oblong dining room table and have been thinking it would be awesome to replace with a round table, so everyone can see and talk with each other better, love it, especially in RED!
Kansas Cosmosphere here we come, well sometime. My son loves astronomy and this would be a perfect adventure for us. Not sure if we will be able to fit it into our summer though, booked pretty solid already and summer hasn’t even started yet!! Will be going on a tour here in May: http://www.nasa.gov/centers/glenn/about/testfacilities/plumbrook.html

Carol S - Loved the video and the pictures and Roy’s looks fabulous! That toasted bread alone looks worth the trip. Could your son take a bigger bite next time? Happy times, thank you God for good friends and family and bbq sandwiches! Have a wonderful Wednesday Meg!

Terrie G - I hate to admit it, but I’ve lived here a year and I’m not sure I’ve even heard of Roy’s BBQ. Maybe my boys have been there. I’m sure we’ll check it out soon.
I recognized exactly where you were in Annie’s picture…I drive by it enough! 🙂
And I think I’ll go download the original version of that song so I don’t have the chipmunks in my head all day long. Cute video! 🙂

Julia - What a fun time. Could I please borrow Chicago Jen?
Kat…enjoy your last good year. Just kidding.
Maybe

Kat - Cute pics, esp of Annie and friend!
My kids also love that song and so do I, although maybe not the chipmunk version, lol.
Just want to say that it is my b’day today. Last year of being 39! Eek.
Hope your day is going well and that you get to see Chicago Jen again soon.
I won’t get to see my bestie until I turn 40, a whole year away.

winner & eggs & SUMMER

*****************************

IMG_1006-1
i put off dying eggs until the last minute.
i wanted sunshine and to do it outside…..and to do it all by myself….if i’m being honest.
but kids like to dye eggs too so i had to share.

we had to do it inside.
in the kitchen.
and i just tried my very best to relax about DYE right next to all my white cabinets.
not sure if i succeeded.

not the prettiest set but still fun to make.

would you like to win your own copy??

leave me a comment telling me: what is the best part of your summer?

Stephanie - Hi there – not leaving a comment for the book – commenting on your egg decorating!
Do you raise chickens for eggs? (I noticed the brown eggs!) We do and we color brown eggs every year! I love the rich, darker coloring that we always get! They look much country-er! (If that is a word!) Here is how we get better coloring – we don’t use the store bought kits!
All I did was bring water to almost boiling, while that is warming, in coffee cups (1 for each color) pour about 1/2″ – 1″ of vinegar, when water is hot, pour into cups until about 1″ from top (depending on how big your cups are) Then I used the paste food coloring. I used 1/2 a baby spoon full and mixed until it was all the way dissolved. And VIOLA! Let your eggs sit and soak for a little bit and the colors will amaze you!! If you check out my blog – http://www.alittlebitathisnthat.blogspot.com – I have an Easter egg swag that I made out of colored brown eggs! Thanks for letting me share!

s - lazy late afternoons at the lake that turn into evening and we still haven’t left for home or eaten dinner and instead we eat goldfish and pretzels and watch the golden light fade before packing up and heading home for showers, baths and bed.

Emily - My best part of summer is going on vacation to the beach! I’d love to win a copy of this beautiful book.

Courtney M - Best part of summer in 3 words: flip-flops, s’mores, sun!

regina - the best part of summer is EVERYTHING!!! lighting bugs, lying on a blanket and looking up at the stars, lots of movie nights on the back porch, swimming at anytime, cookouts, bonfires (yes we have them in the summer), playing outside and totally forgetting about dinner until its 8:00, going out on the lake, lying on the porch reading a book, though this year it will be a nook:)…i could keep going on and on:)

Lynn - I just wanted to tell you that you have totally inspired me to start taking my photography more seriously. Your gorgeous pictures take my breath away. I bought an SLR and am still learning but I’m really excited and just wanted to say thanks! 🙂

Roberta - How exciting. The book looks awesome. My favorite part of summer is having the kids home with me and not having to have any set schedule. Sleeping late, day trips, ahhhh, can’t wait!

mandy sadler - Best part of summer is no school and we are moving!!! Thanks for the chance…

Kristen - many things but. . .first on my mind is staying up late and sleeping in without that alarm clock!

Karen - Aaahhh! The best part of summer……. running outside in bare feet, feeling a cool breeze blow through your light cotton dress, having a cold glass of white wine on a patio on a sultry, hot, humid evening, getting “caught” by a sprinkler on a neighbourhood stroll, watching the sun set on an endless expanse of beach, slurping a popsicle that is melting quicker than you can eat it, al fresco breakfasts in your backyard, lazy no plan days (hopefully lots of them!) and of course, gardening! flowers, vegetables, berries, all there for the taking and enjoying. Oh summer, hurry up and arrive!

Oh…and gardening. I love my garden…almost as much as my kids! Hundreds of homegrown tomatoes baby!

Emily - The best part of summer is having garden fresh tomatoes growing in my backyard!

deborah@applesinwonderland - best part about summer? that it needs to be celebrated everyday. because we know it goes too fast. and the beach and cooking outside and lightening bugs and bonfires and flip-flops and vine ripened tomatoes and peaches and grass between your toes and sunshine and no school and (well, that’s probably enough).

Anne - I love not having anywhere that we “have” to be during the summer! Our school year is jam packed with scheduled activities, so it’s such a relief to “chill” during the summer months. 🙂

Jen - the best part of summer is sitting on the stoop in a cool summer breeze, sipping lemonade watching the kids play & relaxing.

Tanya - My favorite part of summer is going to the beach, whether it be nearby or while on vacation. Love it! This year will be bittersweet as it is the last summer before my daughter starts school, so we will certainly make the best of the last few months before big school start

Lori - lazy mornings with the kids…NO MAKING SCHOOL LUNCHES…coming and going as we please (for the most part:))…

susie - savoring a slower pace of life with my family…heaven

Suzanne D - grilling out and spending time with my family!!

stacie - right now i want summer so badly that i must say sunshine, all my babies in the nest together, ice cream, outdoor fires, grilled dinners, carefree time, margaritas and camps for the kids!

Lacey - finially going to the beach! we didn’t get to go at all last year because of the oil spill. Can’t wait to stick my toes in the sand and relax while the kids splash and play.

Penny - Being off work all summer!! Spending time with my girls, reading on the deck, cooking out, sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows. Oh so many things I just can’t pick one favorite!

shelley - the most wonderful part of summer is the long days. Little Jude and stay outside late and watch the sun go down while we play out on the deck with chalk and his water table.

Jennifer G. - The best part of summer…….beach, beach, beach. Love the salty smell, kids and their sand castles, and sounds of the waves crashing over and over! Oh and a margarita in there somewhere!

Tami Hiebert - My son just saw this and said, “You should say the best part of your summer is when your kids don’t fight!” Pretty good answer!

Laura Gentle - Sitting in my swing hung from a hundred year old oak tree with a good book; roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and making smores with exotic candy bars and homemade cookies; fishing at the lake all day and then cooking a fish feast for dinner with coleslaw, hushpuppies and cheese grits; chasing fireflies with my one and only child makes me most happy. Heidi - I LOVE lazy mornings!

Jenna - Not working, going to the lake as much as possible, and pretty much everything else. Summer is the BEST.

Carrie Haywood - The past two summers I have been VERY pregnant and delivered babies (June 2009 and August 2010) so usually it’s having my new, beautiful bundle of joy here with me.. but this year my best part of summer will be spending time with them, showing them new, fun things.. can’t wait to take them swimming!! 🙂

Eli - Best part of summer: sitting on the dock, for hours and hours, with nothing more important to do.

Rebecca - Caprese salad with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes and basil picked from my garden. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic–best lunch ever!

Rebecca - Fun Fridays! As a reward for good behavior and cooperation all week, we have a swimming/play date with friends. We meet after lunch at a friends house (who has a pool), the boys swim and play and have snacks and moms have frozen margaritas or lemonades with vodka. Good for the kids, GREAT for the mamas!

Alicia @ La Famille - Best part of summer: flip-flops, skirts, NO coats!

se7en - Oh we are headed into winter over here and we have had three days of rain after months of not a drop and I tell you first hand the BEST thing about summer is so much less laundry!!! T-shirt and shorts all round compared to jeans, shirts, sweaters, jackets, hats, socks… I could go on about the laundry but I am trying to embrace the cold – failing dismally!!! I love summer and wish it was always summer!!!

jennifer - Sleeping in and stuffing as much fun as possible into those too short 8 weeks!

Kathy - We homeschool and ar always together and can technically MAKE time for things. BUT there is something about warm Summer evenings and bright sunny days that just feel like you have been given time. The pressures melt away and fun extra things get done without guilt.

Stacey - The best part of summer is the lazy, fun days with BOTH of my kids at home! Love it!

nicki - I’m in NP school, so the BEST is the 3 weeks in August that we have off before the fall semester! Lots more time with family & friends instead of the books! 🙂

Camm Taylor - No schedules…going with the flow….sandy toes at the beach….ice cold beer on a hot night….summer storms….so much! LOVE summer!

Tracy - I love to spend time with my family outside….going to the pool, grilling outside, going fishing, going to the park, riding bike, the zoo, and playing golf….love it all!

Mindy Harris - Of course I’d love to win my own copy!
The best part of summer is family vacations, freshly mowed grass and the scent thereof, and catching fireflies.
And swimming.
And watermelon.
And laying out in the sun (but only for 10 mins).

Sara M. - Going to the beach on Lake Michigan!

Amy - Swimming in ponds, swimming in lakes, swimming in rivers, swimming in streams! I live in New England so the summer months are the only time I get to swim outside and it is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacqui - the warmth of the sun on my face and the endless hours outside:)

Trena - I mean…under the stars!

Tanya H - Every summer since before we had kids (oldest is 9) my husband has run a scout camp in the summer. It can be fun but even when we all live there with him Daddy-time is precious, hard to come by and impossible to have his full attention. This year, he doesn’t have a camp assigment and we are all so excited we can hardly stand it! 😀 We’re gonna have some actual FAMILY time instead of just mommmy-kid time!

Trena - the best part of summer for me…not having to pack school lunches…Just kidding…campfires with my family in the yard until the stars! ♥

Shanna - This summer will be special because I’m having a baby!!!!!!!

Alisa - I grew up in Kansas, but I moved away just before I turned 16 in 1986 – and I’ve never been back. For me summer is the blue open sky in Kansas, a yellow sunflower taller than yourself, the taste of a limeaide, the smell of chlorine in my hair, and the feel of a swimsuit dry the minute you step out of a pool. I now have a family of my own and live in Europe – but I sometimes miss the feeling of those long summers in Kansas, and wish my kids could someday feel it too.

Juli - I’ve already pre-ordered my copy (thanks for original heads-up) but I’d love to win a copy for my friend, Amanda! The best part of THIS coming summer, in particular, is that my husband is taking off the semester from his Master’s program so that he can play with us! I am GIDDY!

Donna - Best part of summer……wearing flip flops everyday, and having some time off work to spend with my favorite people….my family 🙂

Michelle - The best part of summer is our annual family reunion week – and this year will be even better ’cause my cousin and I will have our firstborns with us. There hasn’t been a baby in the family in 26 years!

Simies - Best part of my summer is be with my family. Relax at home or by the sea in Italy 🙂

erin - time spent on, in, or by the water….pool, lake, ocean…i’ll take all three!

dawn - Last year we were without our own home, we lived in MANY different places. This summer will be a treat. No moving, no suitcases, our own home/space/stuff… That time really reminded me how little you truly need and how good it feels to just have your own little place in the world. 🙂

Meredith Salmon - I can’t wait to get it. When I first started my job 4 years ago, Tricia Foley was still working here. She would not know me, but she is very creative and has tons of great ideas and takes great pictures, just like you Meg. Congrats!!!!

Robyn - The beach and warm sunshine!!!

Kirsten J - Best part of summer (you mean those 3 or 4 weeks we get here in Seattle?) would be waking up, taking an early walk and then watering my flowers after I get back. Yep, happens about 1/2 dozen times every summer….and, why, yes, I am bitter about where I live lately….

Jenni Carlisle - Yeah for Melissa…better yet YEAH for SERGEY!!!! Best part of Summer for me is that I’m a homeschool/stay at home Mom, so I just get to BE with my kids. For years as a working Mom I battled feeling guilty only getting a week off, now I get them the whole summer! Love it!

Kelly O. - the best part of my summer is the twinkly lights on in the backyard and me and my laptop on the porch just listening to the crickets

LeAnne - blueberries eaten straight off of the tree!

Jes - Our summers consist of a lot of family outdoor fun activities: bike riding, sidewalk chalk, bike riding, swimming, bike riding, fishing, yes we do a lot of bike riding. Most of all, just the relaxing moments Summer brings. The kids can stay up later (not going to bed with the sun up), evening walks, fishing for a whole day! I love summer!

Kirsten P - Sitting on the deck reading a book while listening to the wind rustle the leaves of the cottonwood trees – 25 of them! Walking along the shore of a Great Lake. Enjoying the flowers of summer.

Lori - Best part of summer….the relaxed schedule and atmosphere – we get together with friends more often, even on a weeknight when we have to go to work the next day. And all that fresh produce! Love summer…

Lelia - Having no schedule to stick to so I can spend extra time with the kiddos!! =)

Kimberly Au - Love my summers! One of the reasons I became a teacher was so that I could still enjoy my WI summers to the fullest, now with my own kids. Simple things like going to the wading pool, zoo and concerts in the park. This summer is especially exciting as we are expecting our third baby in just a few weeks!

Jessica R - The best part of summer is fresh, homemade ice-cream!! Something sweet to beat the heat!

(y’all can stop throwing your flip flops and beach towels at me) the mosquitoes are brutal, the humidity and 100+ heat is a killer, the worry of copperheads where we live intensifies. we do year round schools so my kids are in school during the summer. so i guess the best part of summer is knowing fall is around the corner. 🙂 but i still really would love to win the magazine!

Sarah Osborn - I love spending more time as a family…going to the pool with my kids, more time in the evening to do family things, vacation…..

Maria - After all the rain we’ve had…it will be spending many hours just enjoying the SUN!

Whitney S - Sunshine, lazy weekends and a general feeling of being relaxed. Oh- and my favorite- swimming! (Plus my wedding is this summer, so even more to be excited about!)

Trista - No homework, and family time outside in the evening almost every night.

rkokes - grilling out and playing with the kids outside!

Ann Griffin - The best part about summer is spending all day outside with my 2 year old – blowing bubbles, swimming, taking naps in the hammock

ashley jensen - Grilling out and eating on our back porch, half naked toddler running through the sprinkler, teaching our daughter how to swim in the river, Big Splash (water park), laying on a blanket in our back yard just hanging out.

Jessica - The best part for me is being able to relax on the back porch reading a book, walking barefoot in the grass, and my husband grilling!

Kate - Homemade salsa! (Just one of the many things I love about my favorite season)

Jules - Aww..that’s a hard one…I love summer…would have to say the no-schedule-ness and the warmth of the SUN! and flowers! And flip flops…corn on the cob! my patio! camping!

Sandy - Being outside in the beautiful sunshine!

Tracy - Staying up late!

Janelle - Oh…would love a copy. I actually love my boys baseball games…sitting on the sidelines with my little girls…having drinks and snacks…and then bringing them all home dirty and tired and getting them smelling good before reading books and going to bed 🙂

Lee Ann - The best part is LESS rain and MORE sunshine here in the PNW. We’re so tired of rain!
And I wondered if you could die brown eggs. I haven’t bought eggs in 9 months because we have chickens – which lay all brown eggs. So I bought white ones to die 🙂

JulianneB - Sleeping in and the taking naps by the pool and then everyone falling asleep early after swimming….notice the theme…I think I need to catch up on my rest

Christine - Back porch grilling, front porch snoozing, fresh veggies straight from the garden, and going to the beach. This year will be the first year our adopted son and our first biological son will go to the beach. I absolutely CANNOT wait!

Alissa - So many things! But most of all being outside with the kids, wearing flip flops, and hanging out on the sandbar by the river:))

Catriona - Long, warm, sunny days giving you extra energy for summer holiday fun: picnics, berry-picking, paddling in rivers, chalk pictures on the ground. And I wouldn’t say no to a glass of chilled Rosé at the end of it, either…

Anna Marie - Getting to spend time with my daughter outside in the sun! But this year the best is going to be our new baby girl joining us at the beginning of June. Yay!!!

Chaos-Jamie - Lazy evenings on the back porch….ahhhh, summer….

Julie K - The best part of our summer? Hands down the beach, camping, and no structure!! Would love to see your spread!

Necole - Best part of my summer is going to my parents house with the kids. We love getting to be on the lake?

Laura - The best part of summer is finding a place to curl up outside, with toes in the sun and a breeze to keep you cool. Cloud shapes, lightning bugs, and long days are the best.

Lindsay - Sooooo many great things I love about summer. I’ll go with spending time outdoors because many of the things I love to do are done outdoors! Thanks for the chance to win! 🙂

Christy Mandin - Grilling out in the backyard garden while the kids play in the water. It has taken over this year. But, perhaps the 44 heirloom tomato plants will provide some shade! Haha!

Trish - best part of summer… are the lazy days, and the warm breeze off of the lake.

Stephanie A. - spending time with my kids…….camping, visiting zoo’s, laying in the green grass, blowing bubbles, trips to the library, bike rides, sidewalk chalk art and the warm summer breeze 🙂

one last shot.

this is the last day for the fundraiser for sergey's adoption.
i know i have talked about this a lot the past two weeks.
I KNOW.

i don't know danielle and her family any more than you do.

i have never met her.

i have never talked to her on the phone.

but when she asked me one night to help her by donating a rainbow hoodie
so she could raise some money
to adopt a baby with down sydrome
IN AN ORPHANAGE in europe

and that she had 6 kids already…..

i felt God rip my heart open.

i want orphaned babies to find homes.
i want babies and children to be loved…i can't even type that without the tears coming.
it is such an injustice.

sergey did not ask to be abandoned.
he did not ask to be neglected.
he does not deserve that life.

he was born!
he is REAL.
he deserves a mother and a father.
and he has one now….and we can help them.

Hannah DeVries - Thank you for the reminder!

Lisa - I wish it wasn’t so much to adopt. My sister adopted a little boy from Ethiopia and it was such a walk of faith as they watched God bring in the money. It wasn’t easy but it did all finally happen. So excited for Danielle and her family and so glad I get to be a part of it. Even if its a small amount. Thanks for sharing about it again!

Jamie Smith - donated and am humbled by this families story.

Heather G. - Just now seeing this – glad it’s in time to donate!

crystal b. - Hey Friend,
Are you coming down from the jelly bean high yet? I’m emailing friends one more time about this. I hope they contribute something. I want this little guy to be in a home with a family who loves him. My in-laws served a mission for two years in West Germany. My mother-in-law said the most horrible thing she has ever had to experience were the orphanages in Romania and surrounding area. And those were the orphanages — not the mental instituations. She said that the babies there lay in cribs all day long — no one holds them at all, or loves them. It broke my heart to hear her stories. I hope Serey makes it out of there.
If you need any more prizes, please, please, please know you can always call on me to help. 🙂

JulianneB - Just donated. Thanks so much for sharing this opportunity with us.

Juli - Thank you for the reminder. I’m always upset when I click to donate & they want my credit card info. (no thanks) I was so relieved to find that it was connected to a Paypal-a site I use regularly & trust. I don’t want to be entered for the prizes. I just want that amazing Mom to have her little boy and him to have her.

Whitney S - I donated, thanks to you sharing their story with us! I mentioned them on my blog too- hopefully the word gets out to enough people!

Tami - Just donated! My heart goes out to Sergey and his new family.

Misty - Donated Meg 🙂 Thanks for putting this up on your blog 🙂

Brenna - Just donated – can’t wait to see God’s hand in this sweet baby’s life!!

Amy G. - I had already donated, but your comment about the Easter candy hit home. So, I donated again. 🙂
Thanks for the reminder and for showing his picture again – such a sweetheart!!!

Alison - I already donated and am hoping Sergey comes home very soon to his loving family. They sound amazing!! All things work together for good, to them that love God,to them who are called according to his purpose!

Deb Bounds - Doh! Just about forgot. Thanks for the reminder. Just finished up on the site and I am in love with Sergey! Thanks Meg for brightening my day, as usual. ““Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”–Mother Teresa.
Sergey will come home–$10 by $10 until he’s in his momma’s arms!

alaina - I donated this morning! Can’t wait to see God work this all out!!!

Jody - Donated this AM. Thanks for reminding us.

Sarah - I donated. Thank you for reminding us!

Meredith Salmon - Just donated. Thanks for the reminder.

Lisa - Just donated. Thanks for making this information available to us so that we can all help and bring that little one home. God Bless you Meg.

Ami Lynn - Thanks for reminding me, I just did it… since the first day I saw this I wanted to donate and just never clicked on it… bless this family and Sergey and a wonderful life together. So exciting to see how each donation matters and they’ve almost met their goal!

Heidi Jo the Artist - Wow, so many prizes! Didn’t even know there were prizes when I decided to donate. What an awesome bonus. 😉 Now I need to go spread the word!

april - amen sister!
april
xoxo

Jeremie - Thanks for the reminder! I wanted to give and had forgotten!! And I love the comment by Sophie!!!! My husband and I are youth pastors and you don’t see such selflessness by teenagers these days!! Such a blessing Sophie!!!!

Kate - I donated. I wish I had enough to make sure that all of those sweet babies could find their forever homes.

April M - I read James 1 this morning and although I should read my Bible every morning (and I try to) you should know – I don’t always read my Bible in the morning. But I did today and
James 1:27 says “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
A bit later I read your blog and, well, I did spend about $10 on Easter candy.
So I am thanking God for His timing and for your faithfulness and for a family for Sergey.
Thanks for posting Sergey’s need (again). What a privilege to be a part of something so awesome!

Jenn Wehrung - What an AWESOME thing to know that such love exists and is supported by people like you!! Thank you for reminding me that I can play even the tiniest part in helping to get Sergey to his waiting parents!

Jen W. - Just donated. So happy to be a tiny part of bringing Sergey home. Blessings to you all…

Amanda - Your post touched my heart. I thought about all the things I spend my money on every week that mean nothing. I donated right away. I will be praying for this wonderful family.

Jen - I am glad you’ve followed up. It’s a good reminder for people like me who meant to donate right away but read blogs in a rush or on i-phones, or both. We plan to come back and do things like donate.
We have good intentions but need the push.. I am so very appreciative for this reminder. OF COURSE I am keen to help and I thank you for letting me know about this beautiful family. Please keep us up to date, if you can. I will pray for them.
Clicking the donate now button right now!!
Happy Easter to you and yours.
xxx

Chantelle - Hi Meg. Just wanted to thank you for dedication to helping this family. I am mom to 5 adopted kids and appreciate your heart on this subject. God bless.

edie - love you meg and love this so much. just donated and can’t wait to watch it all unfold.
xo,
edie

pam - Boy this was a leap of faith to donate. We’re struggling to keep employees paid…but look at that sweet face…I couldn’t not give….he deserves to be loved! Praying God grants them favor through the rest of the process…

Janelle - I donated! But couldn’t get my comments to post, so I won’t be winning anything. Other than you know, the satisfaction of knowing I did something to help this little boy get to his family. =)

Robyn Farmer - Just donated and pray others will too. The Lord is always FAITHFUL.

Sophie - This high school senior didn’t spend any money on anything for easter, and instead spent $80 on Sergey.
If I can manage it, I’m sure everyone else can spare $10 for this little boy.

it’s easter…..come awake.

this was played at our church today.
lovely.

"He was pierced for our transgressions,
   he was crushed for our sins;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
   each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all. "
Isaiah 53: 5 & 6
——————————————————–

“Don’t be alarmed,” he said.

“You are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
He has risen! He is not here."
Mark 16:6

happy easter.

Anto - Well the last two years have been a little direffent for Easter. 2011 will be my one and only daughters 3rd Easter. So our tradition is we of course wake up and have a yummy Easter breakfast made by me and then we get ready to attend church. We alternate between my daughter’s aunts church and her grandparents church. Then after Church we come home and I give her what the Easter bunny brought her and we have lunch. She takes a nap. Then we have some play time outside and then a light dinner and then some mom and daughter time and then bath time then a good Easter book that the bunny brought her and then bed time. I couldn’t ask for a better Easter. Actually any all all holidays with her are the best

Heather G. - He is risen, indeed! Happy belated Easter!

Lori - That video was a blessing. Thanks, Meg. Happy Easter to you and your sweet family 🙂

Christy Rose - They played this at our church here in FL yesterday as well!

Amanda - It was played at our church too. Love it!

Laura Phelps - Genuine Faith….
hard to come by these days 🙂
I love Easter
I love the empty tomb
I love that in order for Him to fill us, we must empty ourselves
I love and am so humbled in knowing that Jesus would die over and over agin for ME
wow
hard to believe
but I do
Happy Easter, to my friend who inspires..who through kindness, color, and laughter, shows me the hand of God in action
love you

Julie - I love that our two churches, thousands of miles a part both played this powerful video during services this morning.
I love that God created the musicians that wrote the song and the guys who made the video.
I love that the tomb is empty.
It is finished.
We are free from sin.
That we have hope in heaven.
Happy Easter friend.
He is risen.
He is risen indeed.

Angela W. - Thanks for sharing that clip. I didn’t have the opportunity to go to church today. IT was really good to watch that. I found your blog from Lisa Leonard Designs. I’m glad I checked it out! I am purchasing an oval pewter piece to support bringing Sergey home. I don’t know his story, but knowing that he is a world away…alone without a mommy…breaks my heart. I can help contribute with my purchase. Happy Easter!

Carol S - and on that note….Happy Easter and good night. Beautiful way to end a(imperfect but) good day.

Jen - Happy Easter this is my favorite song… I have it on my blog today too… He is Risen Indeed!

Becky - We used that video this morning too and the response was awesome! I love how churches all over were proclaiming the same message for Jesus!

shauna reed - at 2 min 15 sec.
isn’t that like a 20 year old version of mr duerksen????
ps. my computer totally wants your last name to be deerskin…..hmmmm classy.
happy easter mrs. deerskin….xoxo

shauna reed - dude. did you notice the guy that has your husbands smile in the middle of the video?
that was kinda crazy.
i am sure you MUST have noticed it…right?

Christy - Just listening to that exact song, lol. Our community had a Come Awake vigil last night to celebrate Easter. This video was played on the side of a building on our downtown square. Amazing!

Jennifer - We sang that song this morning at church but didn’t watch the video. Thanks for sharing it. SO good. I never really thought of apathy as sin. Hmmm. Definitely something to work on.
Happy Resurrection Day! Hope you’re enjoying the day with your family.

Terrie G - Thanks for sharing! Have a Wonderful Easter!!

Kerry - Meg…. Thank you. After a trying day with my daughter, and a huge amount of stress work wise, I am so glad to have watched this refreshing video. Happy Easter to you all xx

Ellen J - I love this video. I’m about to watch it a second time to catch anything I missed the first time around.
Hope you don’t mind, but I shared it on my blog as well, and I linked you. Thanks so much for sharing!

HopefulLeigh - We sang that song to close our Easter service! I was so moved by the lyrics that I blogged about it today. Now in watching the video you posted, I feel like I saw it at my old church before I moved. Didn’t realize I’d heard the chorus before!

Maria - Happy Easter!

Kate @ Songs Kate Sang - Happy Easter! We sang this at Vigil last night! LOVE that song!
