Susie - I’m an acorn wanna-be. It looks like maybe you have bur oaks? They have huge acorns. I found two bur oaks that exist in my city, but they’re in a park and we found one intact acorn. I wanted them to make these cute mini-pumpkins:

The only acorns I found are about as big as my pinky nail. Not cool.
My sisters have big bur oak acorns where they live. They baked them (to kill the critters) and sprayed them with glossy clear coat, then filled hurricane vases with them. After Thanksgiving, they switched the acorns out for small glass ornaments for Christmas.
Just in case you wanted to know what you could do with them…

Tausha - ok-that is the greatest invention ever! I have two huge honey locust trees out front and they have teeny tiny leaves that get everywhere! I wisht that they would drop come acorns-then I could deccorate with them!
I will have to go and check this out-my hubby would be thrilled! No more snow shovels and whole bunch of wet leaves!

Sandra - What WILL they think of next? That is so neat. It almost makes me wish we had a nut tree or any tree close to the driveway so that we would have an excuse to get one!

Heidi - That is so cool, I had no idea! You definitely should get one, it looks like you need it! Love the pics!

Sara - Omgosh! That is super cool!!!! I had no idea they even made a driveway sweeper!! I have no idea what trees we have around here, but they are a royal pain with all of their droppings! I might have to tell hubby about this one!!! =]

kayla - I agree very scary. The fact that my daughter says she wants a computer with email but with out the internet at 5 years old is very scary.

princess lasertron - people my age dont even like myspace. the pedos have completely overrun the place.
facebook though…I’m still all over that.

traci - we dont do myspace, wont do myspace and I agree with your first writer.
We also dont want SNL…I dont think their humor is funny at all. It keeps getting more vile imo.

This segment made me laugh. But, as a prosecutor I know this is not much of an exaggeration. Pedophiles are constantly trolling the internet trying to find young kids to prey on. I went to a conference where FBI set up a fake profile of young girl she went to chat room. Within seconds, she had people trying to initiate contact which was inappropriate. It scared me to death. Also, kids reveal so much info about themselves it is easy for pedophiles to track them down. At the very least, myspace should be set to private for safety reasons.

southernseven - our kids cannot be on my space. My son had a Faith Freaks page (My space for Christian kids) and he put photos of himself with his band. Girls were all over him. And he loved it of coarse. My husband made him discontinue that because we didn’t feel that putting yourself out there where unknown people looked at your photo and were commenting on how hot you are is the best thought process for a 15 year old (or anyone) My husband (a systems administrator) checks out all their places. I have no clue how.
I took some photos of the kids yesterday. Not anywhere near as good as your but I was really happy. I took 97 photos so only put a couple on my blog. I have some really cute ones where I was trying to get a photo of all three and I just kept snapping and they were giggling and it is an almost real time of them laughing and you can just feel like you were right there. My oldest daughter saw the photos and said that I was making everyone think we were a bunch of hicks because the boys wore their cowboy hats.

Tausha - we have that issue at our house as well. If you go back a few weeks-you will come across the post where 4 turned all my clocks so that it would be time to go to school. She too can’t tell time, so it was just a pain in my butt to go around and fix all my clocks!
So glad to see that you have a little person at your house who dresses herself and I am sure is conviced that she looks darling! maybe that is just my 4 about the darling-she thinks that she is pretty hot stuff! Aislinn&Kirstin - What a beautiful family – I am sure that these pictures will help remind them every day of the perfect joy Cora brought to so many lives. I have never seen they beauty of a child in a purer form than in these pictures – they bring chills to me and tears to my eyes.
Cora’s look of such love and trust in the last picture is – wow. All I can say is wow.
