apple fest

we were invited to come pick apples at diana and lee's house.

IMG_7126

micah is annie's buddy at school and church.

IMG_7128

IMG_7140

there was an assembly line starting with picking and gathering…

IMG_7141

IMG_7148

then washing and drying each one.

talby was loving this assignment.

IMG_7150

IMG_7151

and then they peeled with the apple/peeler/corer/slicer.

(one of the best inventions ever made)
diana and i cut them and put them in tupperware.
she whipped up a quick apple crisp for munching.
craig ran out to get carmel.
it was such a fun yummy afternoon.

IMG_7159

the kids bobbed for apples.

IMG_7165

IMG_7168

i think they all ended up using the stem to pull it out.

IMG_7172

IMG_7188

IMG_7186

by the time they finished…they were all soaking wet.

sean really enjoyed using the apple picker they had.

IMG_7153

IMG_7155

diana, gb and i were discussing gb's pie crust recipe and sean says:

well…i have a recipe for YOU.
go to the store and get some apples.
find a bunch of sticks and put the apples on them.
get some carmel and put it over the apple…
BOOM you've got carmel apples!

he just cracks me up.
IMG_7199

their swingset has a swinging picnic table!

i had never seen that before.
they pretended it was a boat in a storm….loved to see them imagine.

IMG_7134

IMG_7178

thanks again diana and lee.
we had such a nice time.
i am determined to get my bucket peeled and in the freezer today.
THANK YOU!

connie friesen - megan, i’m addicted to your blog. i’m lynette in utah’s sister. she turned me on to your blog. remember how we made the corsages at jenna’s wedding together? i wish i knew how to blog like you do. i miss coming to the arts and crafts fair with lynette in hillsboro.

traci - what a wonderful day. the perfect fall activity. sean is the typical guy – gotta be using a tool. great photos meg!!

Steph @ Problem Solvin Mom - What a fabulous time!! We have apple pickers like that, way cool and much better than getting on a ladder. Sean is too cute, both in pictures and in print – love his recipe!

Gabrielle - what a nice fall memory for your family.

DebC - Great photos, thanks for sharing.

robin bird - another great photo story! i like the first photo, the way annie is looking on and then the other one where she look so intent almost taking notes, waiting her turn to apple bob, like “now how do you do that without drowning?”
xo

Suzanne - i may have more fall decorations at my house, but YOU my friend, take the cake w/the actual fall activities! my family & I will live vicariously through you:)

Jen - perfect fall post!
β™₯Jen

Diana Cornielle - Is that your little boy? (the one in red, in the first photo?) He has beautiful eyes! And the rest of the pictures are great, I could see how much fun it was through them. Nice.

Lorilee - My 4-year-olds at school LOVE my apple/corer/peeler! I sure wish I could have joined in on your day!
Blessings,
Lorilee

mallory Heffronm - Those are some great pictures… I love the last one

Deb - Oh! How. Much. Fun!

jesse - That looks like such a fun day!

carissa - now that is way cool!
my girles LOVE apples… to be able to pick em off the tree… TOO COOL!

Rachel - Ok’ where are the apple picking farms in Florida…or people who have apple trees…I am living through your photos…looked relaxing and so much fun! thanks for sharing!

Lee Ann - oh I love fall….and I love crisp apples! My Anna has Annie’s butterfly skirt and the sparkly pink Target shoes. The way they dress…..they could be sisters.

mom - Met this is so funny. We went to the Lewis for dinner before the arts and crafts fair. They were having the Big Squeeze (where they make gallons of apple cider) the weekend of arts and crafts. So she invited me to come out and pick apples. I did just this last week and got to use one of those pickers. I have made 8 pints of apple butter in the crock pot. It’s really good. Call me if you want the recipe.
Looks like everyone had a great time.
It’s great to have friends like these.

Nancy - Looks like a great day! Ours was similar…friends have an annual cider squeeze. They’ve re-furbished an antique cider press and invite a large group over for the event each year. The cider is so good that it’s addictive but you can’t have too much or you’ll spend your evening in the bathroom (or so I hear). And I wasn’t even thinking when I went to it as I left my camera at home and missed a prime opportunity for blogging.

PamperingBeki - Awww, that looks like so much fun!!
I *just* woke up today thinking I wish I knew a place to take my kids apple picking. Haha!

pure happiness

dance class today was happy, happy, happy!

IMG_7074

IMG_7087

flowy fabric laid out to roll up into worms….

IMG_7090

and then unraveling!

IMG_7098

IMG_7099

today they were working on learning curved, straight or angled body shapes.
takng turns under the parachute the other girls had to feel if the one
underneath was making a curvy, straight or angle shape with her body.

IMG_7110

talby was straight.
annie was curvy.

IMG_7113

then a goodbye dance out the door.
it's usually an individual thing but today they came charging all at once.

IMG_7115

IMG_7116

IMG_7118

we all left with happy hearts today.

robin bird - you captured that pure happiness perfectly! love annie’s whooshing by smile at the end. radiant!

carissa - I want to roll up in the fun fabric & twirl loose!
you canalmost feel their happiness!

Rachel - That looks like sooo much fun and theraputic…do they have it for adults? LOL

Alyssa - The dance class looks like fun.

princess lasertron - this makes me tear up a little bit.
I wish I had a dance class like this.
I think even as an adult, if I COULD find a class like this in my area, it would take me along time to shake off my inhibitions and self-consciousness.
your girls are learning such awesome skills. and having so much fun.

mallory Heffronm - I love the first picture….I wish we could do that as adults….Well maybe not, I probably could not walk in the morning,

debi - Yes! Adults need this too. Sign me up!
PS – I’ve linked this to my blog. Hope that’s okay. Just look for the Peeking Elsewhere button on the left sidebar. I figured everyone could use a bit of this happiness today!
πŸ™‚ Debi

traci - do they have that class for adults? i really think it would do me some good.

Natalie - Dance class looks like great fun – and such great colours – Natalie x

Liz - I could do with some of that energy! Lovely photographs.

Sandra - This reminds me of the gymnastics class I watched practice today because my granddaughter, Lulu, is a member. It is so much fun to see small children using all those little muscles and minds to make their bodies do things that even surprise themselves sometimes!

jamie - that would be a Fun class for many of we Adults! Gorgeous photos on your blog too. Jamie

Jenn Thomas - I need this class – what fun and joy they have in their faces.

Jenny - Beautiful fabric.
The girls certainly look like they enjoyed the class.

big night

here is my schedule for tonight:

1. sean's flag football game (last week it was super cute)

he's the one in the hat.  his dad wasn't there…so i let him wear the hat.

IMG_6759

2. photo shoot with london  (taking her out in the country)

3. lauren's volleyball game out of town (go lauren!)

4. the office (1 full HOUR!!) πŸ™‚

5. grey's anatomy  (it's tonight?  right?)

6. ER (i have watched every season…i can't stop at the last one!)

the dvr is going to be working overtime!

i am making yummy snacks and drinks for the big night.

i plan on cuddling up with craigers on the couch for the office

and then kicking him out for grey's and ER.

he has too many comments like "don't they ever work at that hospital?"

such an exciting life i lead…..
(again with the stupid double spacing?  typepad what is the problem?)
(i am sure it's me not them)

***update!
loved the office.
cried with jim and pam.  LOVE that ryan is the new temp.
watched ER (shorter) and cried waaaaay too much.  like a 10 kleenex cry.
saving grey's for tomorrow…too sleepy.
but it DID record.  barely.
so glad i checked it because it wasn't starting.
phineus and ferb was recording instead.  it's a disney cartoon!!
last year it started and then a child in my home
stopped it halfway through to watch fresh prince of bell air.
and now phineus!
shouldn't dvr just know that kids shows never override grey's?!
i should hide the remote.

Shannan Martin - The Office redeemed itself! I sort of thought last season got a little stale…Here’s the true test – my husband and I were just at dinner and I started cracking up to myself and then told him and then we were both cracking up about the awkward conversation between Holly and Oscar. And then Holly and Kevin. And what was up with Meredith’s face in the first half?
Now, only a few more weeks and we can add 30 Rock to the fun! (Our personal fave.)

amy d - i was sooo right there with ya with ER and needing tissues, the closest thing i could find near the TV was arby’s napkins and now i have a big fat red raw nose!! i stayed up til 2 watching grey’s. ya should of come over, (since ya had snacks and all!)

margie - laughing because as we watched grey’s in bed last night the comments were rolling out, “cheap to make this show, they just stand around looking at each other” “meredith is such a pain why haven’t they killed her off?” and finally i looked at him and said “i am planning on killing you off in the next ten seconds if you don’t stop talking!” after all this time i know how to be quiet during the bbc news, so what the heck?? good show but i must confess i don’t like meredith that much either.
margie

Liz - I KNOW! I was so excited after The Office I had a hard time going to sleep! πŸ™‚

Lisa - Hey Meg,
I watched half of ER this morning. I got all emotional too. I’m saving Grey’s for tonight when the hubby is at basketball. It will be Milo (my cat), the tv, and my sewing machine tonight for company. I have a quilt deadline of next Saturday.
Your kids always do such great stuff. One day I want to be a mom just like you!
Take care,
Lisa

PamperingBeki - I don’t watch Grey’s, or The Office, or ER. Can we still be friends?
πŸ™‚

traci - have never watched the office. must be good though – everyone loves it. can’t wait to hear what you thought of greys.

robin bird - i am so far behind on your life…
i would never have guessed you had any couch time at all. i hope you enjoyed yourself.. with all those exclamation marks and the red letters at the end of your post i gather it was a ‘good time.’it is 1 in the morning where you are and unless you went all wild and crazy with re-runs you ought to have had your fill of ER and Grey’s.
does binge TV watching ever give you a hangover?

Dana D @BoysMyJoys - I know what you mean! I’m constantly having to check the “priority” feature on the DVR to make sure that my boys haven’t added some new recording to the schedule. (New recording automatically go to #1 priority if you have Direct TV.)

Kara - Grey’s was so good!!!

Tausha - I am so glad that I am not the only one who MUST sit her butt on the ocuch this evening and veg! I have been looking forward to this evening since last season and they cut my Grey’s cause of th writers strike.
Food-I never thought of treats for this evening. I am such a slacker! sO-let me know what you think of tonight’s show!

krista - I had to fight with my kids to remove some of their timers on the dvr so i could record both The Office and Grey’s. Actually it wasn’t a fight. I just deleted their shows. nice right?!
LOVE the DVR, new for us. In my 9 yr old’s eyes…we ARRIVED when we got 250 channels and dvr. We were RICH.
Love the office, only this year getting into Grey’s because imaginary tv friends are better than no friends (we recently moved). Enjoy your night!!

holly - i’m just wondering what those yummy snacks are…??!! you always inspire me – love your blog; it’s my version of a good tv night. thanks so much.

Christy - That is a busy night! I agree with Leah, kudos to you for sticking w/ER, I gave up on it a while ago.
I have my son’s first Kinder program (nursery rhyme rap/hip hop special *lol*) & Grey’s! I actually planned ahead (for once) and already have soup in the crockpot. Must remember the video camera!
Good luck on the games & happy picture taking!

Aby - I’ll be right there with ya for Grey’s! I can’t wait!! Everytime I think of Grey’s I think of one of my twins last year (they were five).. I overheard them playing “grownups”. Of course you have to have imaginary names for that game… One said to the other.. “My name is Grace. Grace Anatomy.” It still cracks me up!!!

traci - just started watching THE OFFICE and LOVE IT!!!! Im sooooo excited about tonight I cant see straight. Its the one show my husband and I love together and laugh our heads off over. My evenings not as fun as yours though. I have parent conferences before hand so I will be listening to the teachers but THINKING about THE OFFICE..tee hee..not really.

Leah Schoonover - I am so excited for the office!!! By the way… I’m really impressed by your devotion to ER! Hope you have a great busy day.

Crystal - I am totally counting the minutes until the office…i can’t remember the last time i was so excited for a tv show…maybe the episode where jim was supposed to propose… πŸ™‚

Nina - numbers 4,5 and 6 sound like my night! Yes, my DVR will be working hard tonight!!

waffle and acorns

IMG_6930

this puppy is getting big.
he is also smelly.
but i love him.
he's my baby….isn't that right craig?

IMG_6937

i'm not going to buy him a stroller or anything…
i saw a woman crossing the street yesterday with a tiny dog
in a stroller made for dogs!
that was a bit much for me.

IMG_6942

but i do love this stinky dog.

i thought i'd show some of the acorns we collected.

IMG_6928

same picture different focal point…

IMG_6929

even after that big bucket full of acorns
we still have that many on the driveway.
amy…can i borrow the vacuum again?

Kelly - That is a GREAT yellow bucket! Kelly

traci - wow those are some big acorns. waffle is getting big. he’s such a cute little guy. yeah, putting him in a stroller is a bit much.

robin bird - you got yourself some great photos of that stinky waffle. i mean what does he smell like? oh wait..am i gonna want to know the answer to this inquiry?
wow that must be a midwest thing…vacuuming up acorns. we;re more focused on pine cones in our neck of the country…i think maybe they would clog the vacuum don’t you?
hey i wonder if Allikayes Mama has seen a real-life pine cone in the wild?

Crystal - I love your acorns!! I have never seen ones that look like that…a little jealous!

amy - just wanted to say i love the name ‘Waffle’…it’s perfect for your new baby!

Sarah - This comment doesn’t have anything to do with the post above but I have been coming to this site often and LOVE your style! I saw pictures of your craft room and just KNOW that you would be able to tell me (or link me) how to make a fabric covered magnet board. you have to know! Please help! All the way from the emerald coast of Florida I enjoy your blog every day! Thanks!

Suzanne - holy cow! those are mammoth size acorns…we don’t have those kind down here in texas:)
i thought you were going to say wafflle ate some acorns & ended up sick…glad that wasn’t the case!

melissa @ the inspired room - Oh, the puppy! What a fluffy face! Love him.
Such pretty pictures too. You always do such a great job of capturing your family. Even the furry member.
xo

Emily - Waffle is just beyond cute! I’ve already told my hubby that we have to get a Golden Doodle. SOO adorable!
As usual GREAT pictures! πŸ™‚

Jen - I have been pretty “hands distance” from loving our year old puppy. I guess I try not to get too emotionally vested. BUt we just got back from a 2 week trip, where he stayed behind, and I can’t stop telling him, “I love you”…and I really do.

McGee - Waffle is SO freaking cute! I absolutely adore labradoodles! We’ve been debating getting one as well, but we’re not done having children, we want to wait until the kids are older, blah, blah, blah. I’ll have to just enjoy Waffle’s pictures and live vicariously…

Staci - I LOVE YOUR STINKY PUPPY πŸ™‚ (I love the different focal points of the bucket too!) But mostly, I love that puppy πŸ™‚ (Can you tell I want one!!!???)

Tausha - Love those acorns. They look all furry and fun! Also-the yellow bucket-I think-no, I know that I would use as decor in the house! i am kind of weird like that-what can I say!
I forgot aobut the fantastic vacuum-until know, and my husband happens to be sitting right next to me.
Maybe he will love it as much as I do.

Sandra - Loooove the puppy pictures. He is adorable.

Queenie Bee - I can’t believe I’m saying this, but those are gorgeous acorns! REALLY! We don’t have any like that here in the south…not that I’ve ever witnessed anyway. I love their foofy little edges. Send a bucket my way! πŸ˜‰

Lisa - Waffles is so sweet. Funny, I call my cat Milo my “sucky baby”. Just ask my husband, Milo follows me all over the house, even into the bathroom. From the moment I walk in the door, until after dinner when he is curled up in my lap sleeping as we watch tv. They’re just so darn cute. Loved the cute finds from the craft fair.
Take care,
Lisa

carissa - those acorns are so cool looking… never seen that kind! very neat!
waffle… can’t take it… he may stink… like dogs DO… but too cute for words!
that doggy stroller thing… i’ve seen too… too nuts!

Kara - He is the cutest, cute like those acorns would look in a big jar.

April - My Chloe was looking at your blog with me today and ooooing and ahhhing over Waffle…then we got the the acorn photos….never in my life have I seen an acorn with that fuzzy look….Chloe said mom…those look like hedgehogs….well yea…I can see it.

chris - I have never seen a waffle like that nor acorns like that ?? our acorns are not fuzzy come to think of it neither do our waffles , πŸ™‚
so you never told me , do your kids watch Total Drama Island ?

Heidi - Oh he’s just soooo cute (said in baby talk tone). Precious!

cynthia - i bet that tree is big and beautiful!
love that bucket too…i’m a metal container junkie!

vanessA - Those are my favorite kind of acorns! I always put mine in an apothicary jar for fall. I also made a wreath out of them ala Marth style.

Rachel - that picture is really great…I love the feel of it…

Leah Schoonover - Sweet puppy! Your neighborhood always looks so peaceful and cozy…makes me want to pack up and move back to the south! Seattle is wonderful…but just doesnt have the same feel. Hope you have a great day!

mom - From the title I thought you were going to show Waffle chasing the acorns!
I had such a good time at the Fair, spending time with you and your family, and our dear friends.
And Burns Cafe was a real treat! Wish I had some pie right now!

Ashlie - What a cute puppy! Our HUGE black lab is stinky too but we love him anyway! Love the pics of the acorns…both ways! And, the bucket is so cool, it looks very vintage!

Allikayes Mama - Ya know..I don’t know if I have ever seen a real-life acorn…in the “wild”! Ha! And that cute waffle is soo cute! Redundant?!

craft fair

every year in the town where i grew up there is an arts & crafts fair.

IMG_6793

and it's a big deal.
hillsboro has a population of about 3000 and on this day
20,000 people women swarm into go crazy for crafts!
seriously.
i am happy i have grown up and no longer
have to sell pork burgers all day with my cheerleading squad.
(i still don't know even know what a pork burger actually is!)

IMG_6814

my family comes in for the fair to shop and see old friends.
my sister didn't make it this year and i missed her.
(lorel i thought of you many times…I LOVE BASKETS!)
i used to be a big buyer but my tastes have changed.
there were a few booths i loved but that was it.

i loved this one.

IMG_6804

she was so much fun.
her booth was my favorite.
but i didn't buy because it was so crowded and i felt overwhelmed.
i wanted it all so i bought none.
but i intend to study her website and shop in peace & quiet right here at home.
really really good stuff.

and there was so much more.

IMG_6811

my grandma bought a sassy new sun visor.

IMG_6812

what?  no WAFFLE?
what kind of dog place doesn't have a WAFFLE collar on display?
GB…do you see what i see?

IMG_6817

IMG_6816

princess lasertron please translate.

IMG_6795

my mom bought me one of these switchplates for my craft room.
super cute.
this was a great booth also but she has no website!
how can that be in 2008?!
crazy.

IMG_6833

IMG_6835

then there were these girls.
i know them and i had no idea they made these cute things!
if i had a baby…i'd be buying it all up.
sooooo cute.
IMG_6819

if craig would ever set foot in town on craft fair day….
this is what he would buy.
he loves Grannie's mustard.
a lot.
and now even grannie has a website.
go grannie.

IMG_6821

jackpot.
i love molly's antiques…a store in town…not a booth.
that wire basket thing was already sold.
that was good for my budget.
i would have had to have it.

IMG_6822

IMG_6830

i have wanted this display cabinet since they opened this store.
i don't know where i'd put it but it would find a place.
oh the possibilites….
(it's not for sale)
i bought this rusty turquoise wire basket.

IMG_6832

after we'd shopped for 6 hours and seen every booth and
stuffed ourselves with pie, noodle soup and cinnamon nuts
we called it a day.

IMG_6842

oh wait…just one more stop.
this chicken coop thing was also sold.
bummer.
how cool would that be as cubbies?
any farmers reading this have a chicken coop thing to sell me?
yes i am serious.

IMG_6843

IMG_6845

hi.
there's my mom peeking over my shoulder.
we were ready for dinner and meeting up with the kids.

IMG_6850

IMG_6877

the kids begged mike to go fishing again.
he's the best.

IMG_6864

this is me yelling at one of my kids.
most likely i am yelling "BE CAREFUL!! You'll get a hook in someone's EYE!"

IMG_6887

another year of successfully conquering the fair.
last year kicked my butt.
mom…i am glad you came.
you know that you & nancy & carolyn are influential women in my life….
even without the pictures!

Kelly - I am looking back over some of your old posts to get inspiration for planning out my crafty space in our new house and as I looked at this post I realized that I *just* saw that lemonade stand lemon driving down the highway the other day! I wonder if it’s the same one or if there are a million bazillion of them in the world. Kelly

Tracey Young - LOVE the Hillsboro craft fair! I haven’t been in at least 14 years though! Good to know it’s still going strong!
(just found your blog btw). We are from KS too-well, dh is, and we did live there for years. We are in NE now, and it is great to read your blog!! Great memories!!!
Thanks!!!

wheeler - Can you post some more pics of this craft fair… I would love to see more..

robin bird - now that was a fun jto come along for a ride on that journey. you have a great commentary style dear. very conversational. i ike going places with you. i don’t even have to leave the house or spend any money to feel like i’ve really “been there’.
i want to see that rusty turquoise in situ when you decide it’s location.
xo

Jesse - Looks like so much fun at the craft fair! I would love to do something like that!

Nichole - You are the cutest mom with your glitter shoes!!! From Target, yes? :]

carissa - 20,000 plus 1… get me there!

Lorilee - Wow, Soooo much cool stuff to look at! I bet it was hard not to buy, buy , buy!
Blessings,
Lorilee

emily - Looks like such fun.
My hubby hates stuff like that and refuses to go.
I just drag Ben around and he hates it too.
I think I need to have a girl now.

Staci - WAAAY too much fun! Hillsboro, KS? My High School sweetheart went to Tabor…I believe that was in Hillsboro…ahh, good times πŸ™ What a great fair! And isn’t your Grandma so cute in her snazzy visor! I so want to try to make one of those tin/bucket holder thingies that had the pretty paper around it! A little modge podge please! And it looks like your kids missed you oh so much :O

Art Cant Hurt - What fun the ladies had!
Thanks for sharing all the color in this post – I think I got a ‘craft fair high’!
Makes us moms appreciate everything more when we get a little “me” time, doesn’t it?
Take care, Meg!

Laura @ the shorehouse - Oh, yay! That was a fun fair. And I SO would have bought that turquoise basket. πŸ™‚

Jen - Sounds like a perfect day to me!!!!! Thanks for taking us a long.

Nancy - I’ve never been to the Hillsboro craft fair but I’ve heard many wonderful things about it. We have a family that lives behind us that moved from Hillsboro; she was quite active in the organizing of the craft fair. Sue Woods….do you know her?
I go to our annual craft festival, the Tulip Festival, but I rarely buy anything besides a funnel cake. It’s fun to look but I don’t need most of what they have. However, I would have spent some dough at Molly’s Antiques. I think I better plan a road trip to visit that store with my girlfriends!

Rachel - That is sooo special! You and your mom had a great day it seemed by your pics and your post…awesome!

Jenn Thomas - I told Russ on Saturday that it was craft fair day – he said we should of gone – yeah right with a baby and 3 other kids – what is he thinking?? Probably of the food. Great pictures and what a perfect day! beats those days when it has been rainy and freezing cold. Glad you had a great time with everyone. Acorns . . . . I will be over to get some.

Suzanne - if we ever have to move, “your town” is the place on my list! even your craft fair is way cool…LOVE that jewelry booth…gotta check out that site! we have a “fair” called Turkeyfest every October in our hometown & all they have at the craft show is J-U-N-K!!!
just love your taste w/the things you chose to shoot!

Marla - I really, really want those chicken nesting boxes. I looked and looked for an old set to use in my chicken coop with no luck.
I love little town craft fairs.

Jennifer Peterson - Wow! That was a long post but I loved every picture/word of it! SO fun!!! That booth will all the jewlery was AMAZING! I plan on paying a for sure visit to her website.
I’m not Princess Lasertron, but I was a German major. I’m trying to remember exactly, but I believe it said : coffee house, come in and drink in your heat.
You can pay me for my mad translation skillz at a later date πŸ™‚
Thanks for the great post
~Jennifer

Liz - Oh whoa. Craft fair = money shortage at end of month. I always get in trouble.

lorel - I had a nice time at my friend’s wedding – her boyfriend’s family is some branch of Mennonite (about half the women there were wearing bonnets, and I overheard someone introducing someone else as ‘so-and-so who works with Mennonite Central Committee’, etc.). So anyway, it has probably been since you guys got married that I went to a wedding with nothing but cake and punch! No alcohol and no dancing (awww, my favorite part!) but it was very sweet and touching, and I was glad I was there for my friend. But I missed the fair, and seeing everyone. Next year I hope to be back. I [heart] baskets!

Sharla - I was at the craft fair too – like you, I didn’t buy very much but the good food and weather was worth the 2 hour drive. Too bad I didn’t know about Molly’s antiques, that looked great. Next year!

PamperingBeki - I did pictures of the craft fair on my blog the other day too. πŸ˜‰
I didn’t take as many as you though.
I was a bit disappointed that there was not much to really catch my eye. The one frou frou booth you showed *was* a good one. But there were only a handful that I really loved. Most of the time I was thinking “isn’t this the same stuff that was sold 10 years ago at craft fairs?” bleh.
I liked the drive as much or more than the show.

Krista - that looks like sooo much fun! jealous. i could use some hometown tradition right about now… πŸ™

Aby - What fun!! Can I go next year? I’ll bring you a chicken coop thingy!!!! I don’t have one personally, but there’s a place down around me that sells them.. they have TONS of them. I have no idea where they got so many… but there’s a lot!! My sister uses one in her laundry room above her washer and dryer to hold all of her laundry supplies… it’s really cute.

traci - what an awesome day. i would have jumped at the turquoise basket too. great buy!! we are farmers, but sorry we don’t have one of those chicken coop things for ya. wish we did, then i could deliver it to you. have a great day.

Heidi - Eeeeek, so much eye-candy!!! I wish I could jump into the pics with fistfuls of money in my hands! What fun!

that girl - We have Alameda Antiques here in my neck of the woods, very similar! Thanks for reminding me it’s about time to get over there!

princess lasertron - “come in and drink it hot.”
Count me in with all the jealouses…what an awesome craft fair. now THIS is something we don’t have much of in omaha!

amy d - it sounds like you restrained yourself pretty well, i hope craig appreciated that!! glad u had fun, maybe one of these years i will try it again, i just got so overwhelmed the first time i went that i haven’t been back, i think canton has conditioned me enough to try it again though! oh, and i cannot for the life of me believe they didn’t have a “waffle” bling collar on display…shame on them! BTW, i think your acorn problem has returned. πŸ™‚

angela WIlliams - All I can say is I am jealous. What an awesome craft fair. The pictures were too much. Next year, I want to place an order πŸ™‚

Christy - Color me jealous! We have nothing, nada, zilch like that here in Phoenix.
Funny how the few things you showed are what caught my eye too, the chicken coop thing, the large wire basket, the type writer key jewelry & I love that basket you got too! I was just searching ebay last week for some. And also like you, no idea where it would all go, but I would make it work! πŸ™‚

a thorn among roses - ok…i am sooo jealous! where in the world do you get to see such awesome things at a fair? it is super fabulous! i love the pics..and the green cage is fab! i have a hen crate i got a garage sale…the lady laughed when i asked to buy it…so she gave it to me!!! i use it as a coffee table in the great room!

Kara - Molly’s antiques booth might be the best thing I have ever seen.
wow. I love it.
Also, I love pork burgers πŸ™‚

Deb - Oh, I LOVE fairs like this! Looks like you had a great time. And I really dig that turquoise basket.

Shanan - I could go CRAZY there! I wish we had something like that close to where I live. What fun pictures.
