how do you take your coffee?

i have a lot going on.

i bet you do too.

i have a bunch of things to blog about… but don't have time right now.

i just made my second cup of coffee SO i am going to pretend that you and i are having coffee togerther and just say a bunch of stuff… as if we met for coffee.  :)

my phone is still gone.  i am hoping it arrives tomorrow.
i have REALLY missed it…. but also not missed it at all.  that's weird right?  i love being in touch but i have had so much to do this week that it's probably best it's gone.

i really miss instagram and keeping up with my friends on there!  i feel WAY out of the loop!
i mean what are people doing right now?? what are they eating?  what are they wearing?  where are they going?!
i need to know!

just kidding.

but i do love that when i have it.  not because i want to KNOW but because my far away friends don't seem so faraway with instagram…. ya know?

see… i told you i was having coffee.
i also went running this morning with my girlfriends.
i am still in my gear… 2 hours later.

i did put on some lipstick because i brought no make up to Haiti and at the customs line to get back in the US the man looked at me and my passport and said "so… you are a missionary?"
i said "HEY…. come on!"  it was the no makeup i am positive.

no disrespect to missionaries of course.
if anything HE was disrespecting missionaries.   just assuming they look like that.
and i had thrown up earlier in the day.

then 5 minutes later a customs officer got my attention and said "Maam…maam?  Are you alright?"
i stopped and looked around and said "Me? Yeah i am alright.  What? WHY?!"
he said "Ohhh….well you just looked like you were sad."

what i wished i had said :

"ummmmm… NO!!
THIS IS MY FACE WITHOUT MAKEUP THANKYOUVERYMUCH.  now excuse me i have missionary things to do."

what i really said:
"I am fine.  thanks"

so i figured i should at least put on some lipstick for you since i am still in running gear.

i stopped at the antique store & thrift shop on my way to the Craft House because sometimes it just calls to me.

look what i got!

a coca-cola crate with big spaces…. my favorite.
and a little chalkboard.
the chalkboard will look so nice in a grouping of other wall hangings i think.

and i got this quilt!

these pics are from photo booth on the computer.  and my screen is smashed (bummer!) and so they are all grainy.

but you can see that i found a neat-o quilt.
for $15.

yes…. kansas thrifting is ammmaaaashing.

oh… have you seen the SNL skit of the californians.  it's from last may.
it is so dumb.
but so funny when you watch more than once and start talking like that.

craig and i quote it all the time!

see….. i told you it was dumb.

🙂

but sometime today you will catch yourself saying aammaashing.

ha ha ha

alrighty.
i am cleaning the craft house again today.
because it's rented this weekend!

did you know you can rent the craft house?

yep.

all the details are coming soon.

if you can't wait and you need them before i get around to blogging it…. email me.

so i have to get to it…. time to crank up the Pandora and rock the vacuum.

one last sip….

wait….

i forgot to ask about YOU!

How are you?  what have you been up to?  what are you doing this weekend?

(see… that is truly what happens when people run into me out and about… they ask a question and i blab on and on and then have to run and then realize all i did was talk and didn't ask how they were.  i want to know those things but i am poor question asker. but on the flip side…. i am a great question ANSWERer! 🙂

so…really…. what IS going on with you?

Karie W - Shut the front door… you got that quilt for $15! I think I need to come to Kansas to shop!

Kari - so what airport 🙂 my brother is a customs officer – ha!

jenny - love your blog! I appreciate that you are real with everyone….no makeup and all! 😉 lol

Valerie @ Chateau a la mode - Hi Miss Meg, it’s Valerie from California, surburban LA to be almost exact. Do we really sound like that? We always laugh so hard when they talk about driving on the freeways because that does sound like us. Cleaning, hiking and Superbowl fun ths weekend! Thanks for making me smile especially with the no makeup story. I’ve had people not recognize me without makeup. What’s up with that?!

shauna reed - i miss you on instagram.
i always blab about myself too
and i quote the californians with my sister all the time….even though i guess its making fun of…me?
get you phone back so i can see what your eating for breakfast and annie’s sassy faces again!

Kristin S - I’ve said it 450 thousand times (well, not quite that many) but your random posts are my fave!
Careful keeping that running gear on too long. My gyn got on me for that. Yep, TMI.

Sue Linse - Hi Megan. Loved the post…you haven’t changed a bit. Still wished you lived down the block from me. Renting the Craft House? Josh is always bugging me that we should come visit you. Maybe we can rent the Craft house? Although I’d really want to meet the two black labs you have next door. We have 2 labs again too. Can we bring them ? 🙂

tinaehb3 - This post literally made me laugh! And thanks for asking about all of us. Truthfully, I’ve had a really crappy week. But I refuse to let other peoples issues bring me down. Today I had a piece of chocolate and the wrapper said “Happiness looks good and you” and you know I really felt like it was speaking to me. So news flash people… you can’t bring me down!!! Thanks for listening….. and GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!

Jenny B. - Black with a side of cake, please. Or a doughnut, or a cookie, or anything sweet, really. 🙂 I feel like a horrible person. I completely forgot about your trip to Haiti! Where have I been?! I am a poor question asker too. So, if we were friends in real life and ran into each other, I would have been like, “Hey! How are you?” and you would have said something like, “I’m good, how are you?” and then I would have blabbed on about painting my kitchen cabinets (which I’ve been doing this week… probably why I have been neglecting the blog world), and then it would have been time to say goodbye, and I wouldn’t have even asked you about your trip to Haiti. And then I would have read your blog later and felt like a huge dork and a bad friend. So goes life.
P.S. I think you look perfectly lovely without makeup. Now, I can’t speak for your post-puking face… 🙂

gale - I feel like we just sat around talking about posters we had in our rooms as kids – giggle – so fun to “talk” to you again! The missionary thing made me laugh out loud – when I was little a missionary from India used to come to our church and I always asked my mom why she didn’t wear makeup – that was the one thing I was most interested in about her – crazy!
Have a fun weekend!

wesandruthb@gmail.com - HONESTLY MEG! You crack me up- we honestly would be besties
if we weren’t states and timezones away!
Number 1: I was a missionary for 1.5 years in Panama (with all that
humidity hair was SCARY!)
Number 2: My friend from Wamego KS. has told me for like 12+ years
that antiques and thrifting there ROCK!
Number 3: I think you are the ONLY blog I comment on… you just
draw people out!
Have yourself a Merry Little Weekend…

Tracey - I’m good. Thanks for asking. I’m having my coffee too. I’m cold. You know that cold when you are all dressed but your legs are still cold inside your jeans? I hate that cold.
I need to finish cleaning too. I swept and mopped floors yesterday. Laundry is going. But, I’ve gotta do bathrooms.
The plan is to make a raggy, scrappy rug for my laundry room today.
And some spray painting. That’s the plan…or I could watch Downton Abbey. 🙂

Lennie Jackson - Is that a new ring Miss Meg?????

megan@contentedsparrow - ah-ha! so, that’s why i haven’t seen you on IG! i was missing you over there. for reals.
thanks for the no-makeup-missionary-story giggle this morning.
it feels good to laugh at your foibles. hahaha.
may your energy overflow today so you can get a lot accomplished!
and get to those CW house rental details. (can’t wait)
xoxo

Fivemarshalls@ymail.com - Hi, Meg! I feel like I should introduce myself! I have been following you for quite some time!
I can’t even remember how I found your blog, but I’m so glad that I did! I remember reading your blog for the first time and being so excited, i love the use of color and craftiness!
I was reading your blog this morning and drinking a cup of coffee myself! i really felt like we were having coffee, so I wanted to introduce myself! i am a proud coaches wife, my husband coaches baseball in San Antonio I am a mom of 3 and I teach preschool three days a week! I use some of your art and crafts with my 10 three year olds! I love teaching preschool! Before starting our family, I taught middle school English! God has a sense of humor and there are days I can’t believe I teach little ones…in some ways preschoolers are not that different from 6th graders! They both need love, direction, fun, and movement!
So, hello from Texas! Have a blessed day! Ashleigh

Heather - I keep coming back to look at your awesome rings. I’m trying to figure out, is the square one on your right or left hand? I love it! And I still don’t believe you don’t have mascara on. Sigh. Oh to be a brunette.

Jla@bex.net - Meg, I would love to know how to sign up for a craft weekend. Thanks!

Melissa Wilds - Hi Megz
Thank you so much for your blog! i love it!
i read it daily from Cape Town – South Africa and wish there was something like craft weekend here 🙁
keep on keeping on!
Melissa

Roganne - Ohhh muh gawsh I totally love that you love Saturday night live. My husband thinks I am a total dork but I laugh out loud at EVERYthing! And at least you are still adorable without make up! I have red-blonde hair and without mascara my eyelashes are practically clear!

Tonia - I LOVE YOUR RING! I LOVE YOUR BLOG! CUTE FINDS!

sara @ the land of ozmabomb - ohmyGOSH, meg, i can totally relate to the whole make-up thing. every time i’m around a friend and i’m not wearing make-up i get one of these: “sara! i wouldn’t have even recognized you if i didn’t know it was you!”, and “you look tired. are you tired??” everysingletime. ah well. and YES – the californians!! my beau and i talk like that, too. especially when we’re trying to figure out how to get somewhere…….and instead of thinking we’re dumb, we think we’re cool. haha! : D

Terrie - I take my ‘coffee’ with lots of hot chocolate.
And seriously….I dun’t knoe whut yu thaink is so dumb
’bout the ‘Californnniannss’. I’m frum Californinniya and I dun’t
know y you thaink we sounddd likkkke thaaat. Like, (I’nsert imaginary hair flip here),
I’m suurrre I donoooot talk like thaat. I’d better goooo, ’cause I’ve got ta put up the Christmas
decarations. Then I’m headed on the 61 to the I-135 to take care of the graanndbabae.
Toodles!
This chat was aammaashing!! Luvved it!!

TonyaElise - My friend gave me that mug today because she said I bring sunshine to her day. It made me smile when I saw that you had one, too. My friend is awesome! So is coffee.
And don’t feel bad, anytime I don’t wear make-up, people ask me if I am feeling okay. Especially my father; he tries to convince me I am deathly ill when he sees me without make-up, and I’m like, “Dad, I’m fine, THIS IS MY FACE WITHOUT MAKE UP THANKYOUVERYMUCH.”

Sarah{Handbags*N*Pigtails} - Great finds! Sounds like the Craft House is becoming bigger and better all the time. I miss it as your house but its wonderful that its not going to waste and people are able to enjoy it. Big old homes are the best(yes, I’m biased there)

sara boller - i am a babbler…well, a sarcastic babbler. i tend to use a LOT of movie/tv show references. AMASHING? i actually use ‘aammaaazzing’ (sounds like lamaze) from the tv show ‘happy endings’.
i was working today during your coffee talk. bummer, but, right now i am watching ellen and responding to you.
your house is BE-A-U-tiful! I sooo want to go to craft weekend…or throw a craft weekend. To see that Lindsey (pleated poppy) and Lisa (lisa leonard) were at craft weekend was CRAY-z since a- i read their blogs daily, and b–they live here in slo town (san luis obispo) like moi. and can i just say…i get star struck when i see them. ALL silent and nervous. cant say a peep–silly. Probably what i would do if i saw Oprah.
silly.
ANYHOO…thats my ramble.

Susan - That was fun! You are too funny. Okay, two things: 1.) I love the (new to you?) ring – so pretty; and, 2.) I NEED a few of your photographs, will you be stocking your etsy store again soon?

Su@TheIntentionalHome - thought of you today. . like you were my bff or something. . .lol. I was at Michaels today and they had bins and bins of items 90%off. Oh, I wanted to stock the craft house for you. I got 140 items forjust $40. Spools of ribbon, journals, picture frames, jewelry findings, Henna body markers(to my 15 yr old’s delight), bath paints for my little boys, brads, oh. . I could go on and on. But if you have a Michael’s near you, you may want to call. I am marking this date on my calendar so I can check this time next year.

Susannah - I want to move to Kansas!!! I want to be able to rent the Craft House and go antique shopping at amazing prices!!!

Heather - Oh my gosh, Meg, you crack me up! I do the exact thing, blathering on and on. Then I walk away and think “what a tool! I didn’t ask a dang thing about them.” Verbal diarrhea. 😛
But seriously….all you have on is lipstick? No mascara? I rarely wear lipstick but I only leave the house without mascara if I want to horrify people.
What am I up to you ask? Well, for starters I actually blogged today, for the first time in nearly a YEAR!! Yay, me. And I’ve got a ton of projects on the horizon for this year.

Jennifer - I’ve never actually commented here, but I’ve followed you for a long time. Funny thing is, I was actually drinking coffee when I checked my reader – but that’s because its 6:30am where I live, Perth, Western Australia! So here’s what we’re up to on the other side of the world: school starts again on Monday! So excited (me, not so much the kids). Both my littles will be in school full time for the first time – on in Year 2, the other in Pre-Primary (equivalent to US Kindergarten). Uniforms have been purchased, supplies have been labeled and new lunchboxes ready for the packing. This momma is looking forward to getting our house organized, not volunteering for much (way over-committed last year) and focusing on the family.
Love your blog – so much fun!

Kirsten J - Yay for missionaries without makeup – you made me smile. Me? I tend to do the same thing – ramble on about myself, sometimes because I’m nervous and socially awkward, and sometimes because I’ve been home with a sick kid or stuck in the office alone too long, and sometimes….maybe I’m a little narcissistic. Right now, I’m procrastinating a walk in the Seattle drizzle, and making a few PTA phone calls. And some paperwork. If I just did those three things, I could go play in my craftroom and not feel guilty. Instead I fart around on the internet and wish I could go play with fabric and papercrafts, and put off the things I need to do…..

Kimberlee Jost - I love Missionaries.
The end.
🙂

May - LOL You are too cute, Meg!!!

Tanya H - hahaha, I love everything about this post! I was enjoying a Dr Pepper, but it works great. My weekend plans include Saturday housekeeping ‘jobs’, my son’s science project and me continuing to organize/clean out my house. Spring cleaning in January? Sure, why not. At least I’m enjoying the cleaning-out!

jen - love this! i actually did feel like we had coffee together! is too pathetic? too much info? anyhoo – this weekend is the start of our no spend month. we have oodles to do around here but we seem to just dream up new projects and go and buy the supplies for that and never get them done. i have bags of supplies and cans of paint everywhere. NO MORE! this month we are going to use up what we have here and get things done! also i am going to cut our food budget way down and see if we can live like that. we have three full freezers {two fridge ones and a half chest} plus lots of reserves in the dry good department so i think we can do it. it’s an experiment and i am up for the challenge. this just means though that i have to stop looking at your craft weekend photo’s! they are so inspiring!!! happy weekend.
😉

Seriously Sassy Mama - Sitting here at 3:56pm watching my kids paint on some canvases I am going to hang in their hallway. I really wish I was cleaning the craft house because I love your house. I always wanted an old home, but would not give my big backyard up for anything. Finishing up laundry then it will be time for dinner. I totally have that coffee mug, and was at the gym at 0900 this morning.

tiffany gardner - awesome. i would totally rent that house all for myself. not to be selfish to my 3 kids and husband…. but man… that would be an awesome place to be by yourself. i can only imagine all the inspiration it would give me. and sleep…. i could definitely use some sleep.

Tiffany clark - Oh, how I adore you. YOU MAKE ME SMILE! I’m good. It’s Catholic School’s Week at our school this week. A week dedicated to the joys of teaching where I do. Fun themes each day, service stuff, fun stuff (Like volleyball today, teachers against 8th graders.) I didn’t rock the court or anything, but I survived. Not much else… just surviving working full time teaching and being a mama. Oh, Henry is talking a ton now. He can string together 4 words! Like “Where are you nukie?” which sounds like “Weh ah ooh nu-nee?” Adorbs. Hugs to you!

Lindsey - I ALWAYS get asked if I am tired when I don’t wear makeup or don’t wear ENOUGH makeup. Ha!
Jealous of your thrifting scores. Nice!

CathyC - Oh my goodness Meg, you crack me up! My own mother has accused me of being angry, when in fact I just had no makeup on either. MY OWN MOTHER!!!!!
And you rent the craft house????? All over it–let me go tell my husband………

Lori Austin - I liked your coffee chat. 🙂
My husband and I quote lines from Elf all the time. I also quote Friends.
Oh how I miss Friends.
So…I’m waiting for gallbladder surgery. Consult with surgeon on Tuesday.
Mom’s are not supposed to be sick or have surgery. Boo!
Love the crate, btw!

Jen - I had to laugh about the comments to you when you weren’t wearing makeup–happens to me all the time!!! The few times I’m out without eye makeup, EVERYONE asks me if I’m tired/sick/sad. I JUST DON”T HAVE FEATURES I want to yell!!

Elisa - BEST BLOG POST
I like them all but with the randoms, the honesty, the open-ness, quick story – all good stuff. I like these, just totally felt like we just had a chit chat together.

kerry - Awesome!!!!!!!!!! Have SO much fun! xx

kerry - Oh Meg, having coffee with you has been the highlight of my day! Such a cool post… We’ve been down with flu – blech… coming right now and trying to get my blogging mojo back so I’m sat with Tiramisu, Tea and a big notebook! xx

JennD - Baha, that missonary comment made me snort my coffee! Too funny, thanks for taking time to chat, I always look foward to your blog posts. 🙂

Rebekah Mathis - Eeeee! I can’t believe you were cleaning the Craft House for Me and My Group of Friends for this weekend! None of us can believe we’re coming there for the weekend. We are all so excited that we can’t sleep! Thank you!

Lisa - “Excuse me I have missionary stuff to do.” Hahaha! Very funny! Loved this post. And the SNL sketch, dumb but funny. I grew up in CA, do we really talk like that in a less exaggerated way!? 😉

Stevie - aw…meg, enjoyed the cup of coffee. i however had hot apple cider. i have a cold and it is kicking my bootay. serioulsy a $15 quilt, i either haven’t hit the jackpot in the KC area or the ‘big’ city has hijacked the prices. my inlaws live in Independence, KS and i need to work in a thrifting trip when we go down to visit.

Meg - Would you consider adopting me? Sure, I’m not that much younger than you but I could really use a mom/friend like you. 🙂

Cyndi Hamilton - Meg, I am so interested in renting the house. Since the first group didn’t get to stay in the house, I have always wanted to come back. Please Email me or PM me on FB the details. I dont blog anymore, but I always love to read what is going on with you and your family. Thanks

megan - I am coming to Craft Weekend! In May! That’s what’s going on with me. So excited. Can we go running together? Does that fit into craft weekend? My guess is no–we’ll be too busy crafting and eating and having fun and I don’t care one bit. Did I mention how excited I am? I am considering it my re-introduction to the world, ten months post-baby. Finally getting a little bit of myself back.

Annie - I just moved from Wichita to California and that sketch cracks me up. Especially since we spent Saturday in Ojai. Wish I had a condo there!

mjwood - Oops, I meant chuckled , um I’m thinking I might need a third or fourth cup to finish the day out…..LOL

mjwood - I absolutely enjoyed my cup of late afternoon (for me) coffee with you and I have to say you made my day!! Thought your post was amazing and I smiled and chucked too!!! thanks! much<3!

Amy@littleforalittlewhile - Hello Missionary Meg! You crack me up! How exciting to be renting out the craft house! I would still love to return to Newton someday and take my husband out to the barn, he would love it there! Hmm, well since you asked and all, I am going to sew some burp cloths and bibs for my baby who is due to arrive in just a few short weeks! Can you believe i’m nearing the end? When I was at craft weekend I felt that it was sooo far away. And also? I felt huge then. Now I really feel huge! Ready to meet baby! Happy cleaning day and hugs to you! xo (sorry about all the !!!!s. Guess you bring out the happy in people!)

Laura - That should be “A” shy.. not I. Oops.

Laura - I shy girl like me is happy to sit and listen while you talk about what’s been going on!

Cheryl - Okay, so I’ve never commented before…but I had just sat down with a big cup of tea and I totally felt like we just chatted (okay, I listened and you chatted!). So…so not cool of the security guy and the no makeup and missionary thingy. Love those quilts…$15?! No. Way. Aaannd, I just moved to Kansas (ok actually it was 2 months ago, but still) and I can’t wait to snag some serious thrifting. Oh, and I’m from California so I should prob watch the SNL skit, yes? Or no? Super intrigued about the Craft House rental dealy.
Oooo, snow flurries…gotta go!

Sabrina - My husband and I quote the SNL Sketch all the time!
DEVON! What are you doing here?

Lisa M. - I don’t wear makeup on most days becuase I work from home and if I have to run out to say, the grocery store or my business, I think “why put on makeup just for that?” Then I run into a neighbor at Starbucks (cuz while I’m out I might as well get my fix, ya know?) who is always stylishly dressed and made up (always)and I feel like a lump. And just the other day I stopped by my place of business (w/ no makeup, and sweatpants) and my employee asked me if I’m sick. Nope, I replied, just no makeup. My mom just asked me if I was sick too! Maybe I need to put on some eyeliner and a little mascara from now on. By the way, you always look pretty…makeup or no makeup 🙂

Kristi Rediske - It was fun having coffee with you, but I had vanilla dr pepper from sonic, that is my morning and afternoon drink. It does sound like you are busy, I am so excited to hear that you rent out the house. I am hoping I will be able to afford taking you up on it sometime, I am from that town(won’t mention it in case you don’t want it all over the internet), anyway, I use to say at my parents house but my dad passed away and my mom moved to Arkansas where I live and now when we want to come back we have no where to stay. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn but its not like being in a home. Can’t wait to hear details. Have a great day!

Melissa - I was JUST telling a coworker about the Californians sketch.

Leadia Jarvis - I always think you look aaaamashing…for what it’s worth 😉 The Californians has to be one of my favorite skits of all time. SO funny. Do you ever get a chance to watch Portlandia? Kind of offbeat, but Fred Armisen does so many funny characters.

AnnMarie - Oh and I like my coffee double double thank-you!

AnnMarie - This past week has been my first week back to blogging! I too have lots to say but seriously feel so silly having no followers. I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall or in this case a computer screen. But, I look up to ladies like you so I am just going to keep it up! If you have any tips I’m all ears! I totally relate to the no make-up thing. My mom says I should be a spokesperson for make-up because it totally transforms my face when I wear it. I was not sure how to take that when she told me that. lol! I know she ment it as a nice comment but to me I was like, “so… without make-up I look like a total wreak????”.

Colleen - I have recently had people ask me if I were sick…wait, what? No…why? “Oh, you just look like you feel bad” …….yep….no makeup days. Do men ever get asked these questions? Hahahaha..oh well some days are just like that. I recently found your blog and would some day love to go to one of your Craft Weekends. Dream come true! Just had to comment today because you are too funny! You made me laugh out loud! Love your coffee mug! Have a happy day!

shar y - You have been running for awhile now and that is super great. Just wondering if you have noticed any specific body shape changes? I know people sometimes get leaner over time and you look great, but just wondering if something has changed significantly? Like my friend did have larger thighs even tho she was skinny all over but then after running, her legs have gotten so slim!!

tara - a few years ago, i had two different older men on two different occasions ask me why I was mad. when i asked them why they asked me if i was mad, they both replied that i just looked mad.
come to find out…after looking at myself in the rearview mirror….i realized i look mad sometimes because of the ridiculous #11 wrinkle between my eyes.
to botox or not to botox. that is the question.
it’s been a few years and now that #11 is permanently fixed on my forehead. it’s sad….this whole aging thing. the only thing that makes it okay is that wisdom comes with age.

mary kay makes me feel pretty.

i like makeup.
i do.
i can appreciate several days of not wearing it, but after a while, i NEED to put it on so i can feel like myself again.
i like wearing it.
a day when i put on makeup usually means i have somewhere to go and people to see.

Mary Kay sent me a box of goodies to try and i was so excited.

they sent the NEW TimeWise Repair Volu-Firm Eye Renewal Cream.
let's be honest…who doesn't need a little extra help in their eye area?
we all get tired, we are aging, and this refreshes the skin around the eyes and feels silky!
it even has a cool applicator shaped for the eyes.

also in my box was a Mini Compact with eye shadows and blush.
there are even little tiny brushes hidden under the makeup so everything you need is in one place.
IMG_7141-3

they sent lip gloss in three colors.
i am partial to the shade CafÈ Au Lait…just enough color and all the shiny sparkle.

IMG_7139-2
my favorite makeup essential is mascara.
i don't feel like i am done until i put on mascara.
they sent me Ultimate Mascara in black and Lash love Waterproof Mascara in black.
i almost always have to wear the waterproof…because i cry so easily.
just this week i was reading at my son's basketball game and i had to put my book away because i couldn't keep the tears in. So…waterproof mascara is the best bet for me.
but i love the Ultimate! it looks lovely on my lashes.

they also sent Lash Primer.
i had never even heard of Lash Primer…but now i love it.
it gives my mascara more volume and keeps my lashes curled longer.

my most favorite product Mary Kay makes is the TimeWise Microderabrasion Set.
this set makes my face feel AWESOME.
i am not kidding.
i use these two products all year round.
IMG_7136-1

"wash your face every morning and evening" is the best makeup advice i ever recieved.
and i follow it 100%.
unless i fall asleep watching a movie or something…

tell me the greatest beauty tip you've learned for an opportunity to win a fabulous Mary Kay gift basket.

And I did…who knows what shape i’d be in if I hadn’t!

Breeanna - I have two beauty tips that I follow daily, sunblock and wash my face before bed!

Alisha - My best beauty tip is that when you look tired and haggard use a light shimmery eye shaddow under your eyes (just a little) to brighten up your eyes and help conceal the dark circles a little better. You’ll look more awake even though you make not feel like it!!

Wild Orchid - tweet–https://twitter.com/WildOrchid985/status/280743630539464705

Hannah - I have Mary Kay’s Timewise also! It’s an amazing product! Glad you like it! 🙂

Jill - Drink lots of water and smile! I have trouble with the water part 🙂

Carol S. - Probably best tip is lipstick, my go to beauty item. Just began a skin regime on this 50-year old face in the past two weeks…clean, moisturize, bleach cream for sun spots, then retin A. Why didn’t I start something decades ago, when I thought lipstick alone did the trick, lol?

ginger - I will try the lash primer – need it on these old lashes

MJ - Even if I won, I would give it to someone else because my favorite tip is to use coconut oil as moisturizer and to use watered down raw apple cider vinegar for a toner. People always are surprised when I tell them I am 38, because I look 25!

Jenna@CallHerHappy - I was told to shake my head and not my hand when putting on mascara. I look like a fool, but it totally works. I don’t care if my mom laughs hysterically at me when she sees me do it. No clumps!

tiffany gardner - NEVER leave home without lipstick!!

Cortney - Wow! Lots of good beauty advice here. I follow most of the ones mentioned here, and have to be shot with a tranquilizer to stop me from washing my face at night. I love makeup, and use almost all exclusively MK. I really have yet to find a product I don’t like. But….the one of their best products is the eyeprimer. It really works wonders. I think good beauty advice it to not be afraid to try something new. Many women get stuck in a beauty rut. A new color, a new technique, whatever. Go for it.

Karen - Pamper yourself! Treat yourself to a good facial whether it is something you do at home or whether you go somewhere. Makes you feel wonderful. Great advice from a friend.

kellie - YAY! apply moisturizer to your neck too, or your face will look amazing when you’re old, and your neck will look, well… old. 🙂

Melissa - Mine was also wash your face every morning and evening….and I fail at it big time!!!

kristina - I always put on moisturizer!

Katie Jones - The best beauty secret I know came from my Memaw. She wore make up til the day she died at age 84 just last year. Always put effort into it. Weather you have Mary Kay make up or some from the $ store, put effort into it. Take your time apply it evenly, and take time on your eyes and lipstick and it will show. And always apply a fresh coat of lipstick right before your Man gets home from work. He will appreciate it!! I loved my Memaw she taught me everything I know about make up. 🙂

karen peachey - Love the mary kay timewise set! Best tip is to use it twice a day for clear skin!!

Tracie - Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Helps keep your skin looking young. I also use organic/ natural products and sunscreen that has zinc oxide as the main sun protection ingredient.

Tracy - Wear sunscreen!!

Amy - Best beauty tip: sounds weird, but i heard a famous hairstylist once say that all women’s faces appear much thinner with their hair pulled back. i know everyone thinks hair down is pretty, but his statement is so true for me!

AJ - 1. Smile!
2. Look people in the eye when speaking w/them!
A great attitude makes a face shine!

TiffanyB - Love Mary Kay! The best beauty tip I was ever given is to always have lipstick and mascara with you – these are the two items that are needed if you can’t put “your whole face on”. True.

Alisa - When putting foundation on your face,
always put alittle on your neck too,
so they are both the same color
and blend well so there is no line! 🙂

Dena - Use Mary Kay’s eye makeup remover……. it’s awesome!
That’s my tip!

Brady - My favorite beauty tip was to put your makeup on, then spray some hairspray and walk through it so it falls on your face. Helps makeup stay on MUCH longer 🙂

Peg - Use sunscreen and smile

Gretchen Bookout - Wash face twice a day… and use a moisturizer with sunscreen!!!

#1 – Use eye shadow primer. I always had trouble with keeping my eye shadow and liner on and then I found the beauty of primer potion and now it stays!!
#2 – Sometimes less really is more. Tone it down and not only will people notice but they will comment that you look beautiful and what did you change with your makeup because it looks good.
#3 – I really do like mascara. It’s not a have to, just like I often go without makeup, but when I do use it, I like it. I like it more than I thought did or I thought I would. (Now I just need to find the perfect mascara for me.)

Linda B - Drink enough water. It is amazing how much better your skin looks when you are not dehydrated!

Lydia - Like you, I don’t like to leave the house without my mascara, but I’ve recently learned to appreciate my blush a little more. It makes you look awake and healthy, plus, if you get a great shade for your skin, you can use it as eyeshadow or pat it on top of chapstick for natural-but-better lips!

Lisa - Washing my face regularly is the best advice I’ve received. Especially with working out and being sweaty! Sometimes I’m really bad though and don’t follow this and end up breaking out! 😉

Deb - Always wash your face before bed and ALWAYS moisturize!

cyndiloohoo - moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. I too use Mary Kay!

Cara L - the best advice i ever got was to use a good moisturizer! i love mary kay products!

D - Good sharing, welcome to joy fax server: http://www.joyfax.com

Megan - Greatest tip: Always smile. 🙂
But also, always wear sunscreen!

Jenn - Sunscreen! No doubt.

Crystal Swoverland - I am one to forget advice…but someone once told me (I think a Mary Kay rep) that you age 7 days for every night that you don’t wash your face before going to bed. I don’t know if that has any truth to it but it does make me wash my face when I’d rather skip it and crawl into the covers!!!

Jody - Be comfortable in your own skin.

Nicole B. - You should apply your make up so that it looks as if you are not wearing any 🙂

Cory - The greatest beauty tip I have gotten over the years has been to keep your face clean, especially at night. It solves a lot of skin problems just to do that. Also… wear lipgloss when ever you go out, even if you don’t have on other makeup. It brightens your face… 😉

alyssa - get some sleep!

Jana - Stay out of the sun! 🙂

Gina - I make sure I always moisturize my face morning and night!! 🙂

Jamie - Moisturize! And that you should wear sunscreen…. which I don’t!

ginny - When I was 18 and at a beauty counter, the lady asked me what i was using for moisturizer. I said I didn’t use anything. She told me that I needed to protect and take care of what I had then, to keep it looking young. So I’ve used good moisturizer and eye cream every since.

Emily - hmmm… the most helpful advice I’ve been given is based upon my skin tone and coloring, what colors look best… I am an “autumn” 🙂

Adrienne - To. Use sunscreen!!

Kate - Well, besides sunscreen and washing nightly…a lady at a Clinique counter once showed me how to brush my brows up and trim them just a bit. I’ve been doing it ever since. Also, ironically, I’m going to a Mary Kay brunch party on Saturday. I’m glad to have read your thoughts first!

denise@victory rd. - a mary kay friend recommended i run my unopened mascara container under hot water before putting it on- warms the mascara and it goes on smoother. works!
i like kensie’s answer though, and want to be her best friend, who she makes feel special and beautiful. 🙂

Kate - BB cream is the best!

Sandy - Wash your face every morning and night and apply some sort of sunblock. Wish I’d listened to the sunblock tip as sun spots are appearing with age. :-/

Aby Gittings - Moisturize. Even if you think you don’t need to.

lacey poag - Use a TINTED face lotion with SPF daily & drink lots of water!

lindsay - the best tip i have heard over and over is to never go to bed without a clean face!

Katie G - Use a face lotion with SPF daily.

Toni :O) - The best tip I was ever told is to always wear sunscreen, every day, regardless of the weather outside (I promise I didn’t steal Annie’s it truly was what a beauty consultant told me years ago!). Ever since then, haven’t missed a day. :O)

Anne-Marie - My grandma said to wash your makeup off every night. Also, don’t forget your neck when you moisturize!

Karie - Keep your skin clean and moisturize!!

Heather Simnitt - The best beauty advice I ever received was to smile – and it’s true – everyone looks ten times more beautiful when they smile! Didn’t Annie sing “you’re never fully dressed without a smile?”
Timewise IS amazing! Love me some MK!

Jackie W - Best makeup advice I’ve learned is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Laura W. - Best beauty tip – – sunscreen!

Lorie - The greatest beauty tip I’ve ever learned is that if you run out of eye makeup remover, you can use baby oil, and it takes the mascara right off!

Erica - Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30 Best beauty advise ever. 🙂

Megan - My mama always says to stay out of the sun and moisturize! She has awesome skin so I have always listened to that advice!

Holly F. - Start using eye cream…before you think you need it !!

Carolyn - moisturize! and get 8 hours of sleep every night 🙂

Erin - drink lots of water

Kensie Conner - The best beauty tip I’ve learned is to make other people feel beautiful/special. When you do that, people see a beautiful person when they look at you. A more practical tip maybe: moisturize! I apply moisturizer probably 3 times a day and have since my preteens.

Annie - The Greatest beauty I have received is to also use sunscreen!

have you tried this yet?

Procter & Gamble has a campaign called Have You Tried this Yet? where you can get inspired to try and learn about high performing products from brands like CrestÆ, OlayÆ, PampersÆ and TideÆ. You can also check out product reviews, receive great savings including coupons and samples and even score expert beauty, family and home advice.

They asked me to participate and write what i thought about one of their new products.
I looked over my choices and decided that since i am a runner (i love saying that) i would be a good candidate for the new Secret Outlast Deodorant.
Because when I go running… I sweat.
I don't glow.
I sweat more now at 37 than i have in my entire life.
My clothes are soaking wet when I get home… so deodorant is a top priority.

IMG_7871-3

I am picky about it though, too.
I only use the solids.
And if I sweat or smell with it on… it's out.
I want to put on my deodorant in the morning and not think about it again until the next day.
I don't want to worry if i smell or if i have sweat rings when I am talking to people.
I am guessing you feel the same way about your deodorant.
Secret Outlast says it can work up to 48 hours!
It will outlast whatever you have going on in a day.
IMG_7873-5

There are two different versions of this product so I got them both.
One scent is "completely clean" and the other is "protecting powder"
They both smell very nice… the powder one smells like… powder.   :)

The Olay helps soothe irritation from shaving and conditions your skin.
IMG_7868-2

The applicator is different than most solids.
When the dial is turned the deodorant comes through the vented applicator, and then you apply it.
This deodorant seems lighter than other solids.
It seems more like lotion.

I used it before my four mile run, and i can say that is works!
I really thought it did the job beating the sweat and odor.
If my arm pits were the only part of me that was sweaty i could have just cooled down and gone on with my day.
But after a long run i need a shower for all of the other parts of me that sweat, too.
Trust me.
IMG_7872-4

P&G has a website that has all the information about their new products.
The information is helpful, but what i thought was cool was that you can request a sample of Secret Outlast Deodorant!
And you can receive coupons for their products too!
I like to save money and I like free samples!

I already went to PGeveryday and signed up for samples and coupons. I am defiantly going to try this Deo! Maybe it will be THE ONE! 🙂

Tiffany - i have not tried this yet…but i need too!!!

Denise C. - I am a runner, and am currently in training for my 3rd half marathon. I also strength train 2-3 times a week. While sweat is great while I am working out/running, it is NOT good for my day to day activities as a stay at home mom! 🙂

Molly - i teach and some days my room is nice and cool and some days it is BLAZING hot! i would like to not smell stinky like my middle schoolers do:)

mami2jcn - Secret Outlast Deodorant would make my life easier so that I can exercise and feel like my deodorant is working.

Marla - It would help me work out in public places, like a work out facility or zumba class.

cambria - Garmin is the best thing to have when training for a 1/2 marathon. I had never ever ran befor and I started in May and ran a 1/2 in Oct. I would still choose my iPod over my Garmin, but the Garmin is SO SO SO helpful when you start getting to higher mileage and want to know how much longer you have to go (suffer) =), and what rate you have been running at. I would try to stay at a 10 min. mile for the first 6 or 7 miles and then go down to a 9.30. I would highly recommend getting one, all my running friends have one and we all LOVE them!!!! I got mineo n Ebay for around $140, but if you look hard you can get them cheaper! Good luck, just keep telling yourself. “I CAN DO HARD THINGS!!! I CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!”

Jen N. - I would feel a lot more confident wearing tank tops.

Laura - I have tried it, and it DOES work! I go to the gym (walking on the treadmill) during my lunch hour and don’t have time to take a shower. This Secret does the best job of keeping me “fresh” and socially acceptable to my co-workers. Hey, I haven’t been called into the HR office yet 😉 Merry Christmas, Meg!

Kim - I dont want to stink by the time I get out the door for work. I shouldnt have to reapply after just getting ready.

Linda Totman - Once my deodorant goes on in the morning, I want to know that I’m “protected” all day long … no sweat rings, no stink-o smells coming from my underarms. Simple is becoming my way of life because of some wiser choices and this sounds like another one that I need to make!

Susan C. - I use Secret now, so I will have to give this one a try.

Amber P. - I don’t want to stink!

Alice H - I have not tried this yet. But I think I will give it a try because like you, I don’t want to think about being sweaty and having BO!! Thanks for the giveaway.

Ann Marie - I haven’t tried this yet! I run a lot and this would come in handy!

Molly B - i want to not be sweaty! : )

no matter what age.

Olay asked me to participate in their 60th anniversary celebration.
i love Olay products and i have been using them for years!
that made saying YES very easy
i am thrilled to be a part of their party!

Olay encourages women to be proud of their age and challenges them to find out what is possible no matter what your age might be.

IMAG0752-1

I think i am doing that…or trying to at least.
i am 37 years young and i think life is going pretty well.
i am much more confident than when i was 27.
i am more comfortable with WHO I AM than when i was 30.
and i am in better shape now than when i was 32.

IMG_1024-1

have you ever made a bucket list?
i had only made yearly goals in the past but when Olay asked me what i was checkin' off my bucket list i knew i had to get to it.
my life is moving on everyday and i needed to be intentional!

so i started writing things down….thinking about what i really want in life.

i want to live a great story.
IMG_6586-1

what does that mean for me; a mother of five, loving wife and crafty business woman?

HOW do i live a better story?

i think it starts by giving myself a challenge to do new things and don't let my days waste away.

some of the things i wrote down————————————

go to africa (lots of times)

meet bono

learn to crochet

see a kangaroo in australia

run a half marathon

go on a real camping trip (become a camper)

help people all over the world (even in my own town)

hike a mountain (without feeling like i am going to pass out)

learn to make pasta

read more books

swim with a sea turtle

random acts of kindness

visit a castle in europe (not on a cheesy tour)

raise chickens 🙂

ride in a helicopter (with dramamene)

take my kids in an RV trip

memorize bible verses

———————————————————————————–

i am already working on several of these things right now.

Living a good story requires GOING.
all these experiences, the things i have done and things i will do, make up who i am NOW.
i am 37.
and i am living a good life.

IMG_4601-1

what about you?

what do you need to get up and change to start living your own great story?

Leave me a comment with your answer for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card courtesy of Olay!

olivia rubin - At 31, I am not where I thought I would be 10 years ago. And I have no idea what I will be 10 years from now. But in that time I would love to visit the Redwood forests and hope to visit southern India as well.

Dina - For me, the key to living a great story will be letting go of the assumption that something has to be done a certain way in a certain time in order to be meaningful. For example, I feel like reading to my youngest daughter doesn’t count unless we’re snuggled up on the couch for a half-hour or more reading a quality piece of children’s literature. With that mentality, I’ll be lucky to ever read to her again! Grabbing her and the nearest children’s book for a quick 10 minutes before dinner makes us both happy without the pressure of perfectionism.

Judith VanAlphen - Still on my bucket list is trekking the Inca ruins.

Lee - trekking to Machu Picchu is on my list or story!

Thomas Murphy - Id like to find a new career field.

Kelly Green - well I need a hair cut and money to afford to spoil myself with instead of always using second best and I would like to say at the age of 48 I weigh
less than I did at 13. Only 128 lbs right now.

Marie - I am a mother of 3 and my one goal right now is to graduate from college. I am almost there!!

Samantha Daleo - I need to wear make up more often and take care of me every now and again…I need to make more money so I can look up from the bills sometimes and enjoy what’s around me more often. I need to worry less and trust more.

and i make every excuse to avoid it.
like, i’ll even fold laundry or unload the dishwasher to avoid it.
but i want my body to be healthy and feel strong.
it’s not like i want to be a size six.
i just want to feel good about me.
ugh.
see, i just need to do it.
why is it so hard to make time for ourselves?

cw - Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37, however,on a positive note, it has made me do things that I have put off for years.
Travelling with kids, spending more time with relatives

Tiffany Winner - I need to change my spending habits so we can start saving more and get out from debt
thismomwins@gmail.com

Nanette - I always feel like I need to do certain things (eat better, lose weight, sleep more) before I can tackle the big things…but really you can only live each day as it comes and make the most of it…it goes by too fast.

Meredith - This year has been a big year for me, at least I think so. I have organized my house a little more as well as my life. I have gotten more involved with school and other things as well. Trying to simplify but be helpful. I work full time an hour away from home, so trying to get all the little things done and spend time with my boys. This year (Monday) I will be 39 years old. I want to be my best me at 40, the person I have always wanted to be, not someone I think others want me to be. I am lucky to have a husband and kids who support that. Thanks for asking this question, sometimes it make it more real when it is out of your head and on paper.

Elena - I just want to be happy with the life we have chosen for ourselves! yes we can live with less! yes I can spend more time with our kids!

Bailey C - I need to get up and move more – get in a routine of exercise!

GretchenP - save some money and travel.. stop dreaming of the places i want to see and go there! 🙂 thanks for the giveaway!

Chi Anne - It took a long time and a wonderful husband, but I’m living the dream 🙂 It’s cliche’, but life is too short. Instead of making a list we just do it. If you want some help with that see a castle in Europe part, we can help. We currently live in Germany which is filled with lots of castles and cathedrals and other beautiful architecture!

Julie - what do i need… more money? jk, i need guts. just the guts to do what needs to be done.

Cori Ashley (@letseatgrandpa) - I need to stop dreaming and start DOING. Actually, I am finally starting — big things ahead! I freakin’ love life.

Amy - I tend to run around doing things for everyone else and never taking any time to work on me. I am not the best person I can be and I haven’t figured out yet who I really am and who I want to be. I need to spend some time figuring that out and learning to be the best person I can be. Because the clock keeps ticking. I need to do this not only for me but also for my family.

ira lee - for me- its an easy answer, but a hard one to practice. to quit being so tired to get things done. i work outside the home in the medical field and it is very stressful. i want to paint, play with my kids, go see a movie, go camping more, organize my house, redecorate my house, cook more dinners, print off pictures. its a constant struggle between making motivation for myself so i can get something accomplished and allowing myself to rest and chill with out feeling guilty. constant struggle. i also battle clinical depression, and im anemic a lot of the time. so tired seems to be my lifestyle! its frustrating, i feel like an inadequate mother sometimes. i have to remind myself that things wont get done unless i take the first step, its ok to rest my mind and body, and im a good momma and my kids love me despite my flaws!!!
love your blog- u are an inspiration!!!

Jamie - I need to have confidence in myself- be brave. That will get me on the right track, because without, it holds me back.

Robin Anderson - I need to finish some of the many awesome projects I’ve already started 🙂

kath - I reckon my goal can be to have you come to australia and run that half marathon with me at Gold Coast! Awesome course! And I’ll let you see kangarros while you are here 😉

Ashley B. - I need to stop giving up just because things cost money, and make an effort to find free/cheap stuff that I can afford to do instead of just being a couch potato 🙂

suzi failing - I need need to read my Bible every day not just once and awhile……….sigh..
And I need to rearrange the bedrooms that the kids are using with the ones that the grown kids have moved out of……..big sigh……..
suzi failing
suzifailing@att.net

Jenny B. - I need to clean and declutter so we can have a welcoming, peaceful home that I feel good about inviting people into.

dhdearmon@gmail.com - We are very blessed and have a boat. It is a great way to get my older teens to come do family stuff as we go out skiing and tubing and kneeboarding. Well, except me. I need to lose weight so I can get up on skis. So, I am the picture taker and the one who doesn’t want the photos taken of her. I want to be happy with my body so I can enjoy being in photos and be more active in participating in our life.

Ashley E - I need to remember that God is always in control and has a plan. I also need to get back to the gym, because a healthy mom is a great example to my girls!

Kim - I need to get back to a regular exercise regimen. I’m more positive & get so much more accomplished when I’m feeling happy and healthy.

amber - I need to stop comparing myself to others and let go of fear.

shannon Stout - Wow! Seriously food for thought. Hubby lost his job recently and we have been struggling ever since, so to make a bucket list seems a little crazy considering we can’t do anything right now……but I NEED to make my moments with my kids COUNT! Not to be distracted by computers, tv and phones. I need to live in the moment more and make a difference in their lives and with hubby. Things seem so messed up right now but God is seeing us through and we give Him all the Glory and Praise. So for me, these simple changes in my life would change how great my story will end up.

Larissa - I need to learn to be more content…also not to worry.

Diane - For me, it’s the fear. Fear holds me back so much and I’m realizing how sad that is. I come from a family that doesn’t seem to “live” but merely survive. I don’t want that to be the same for me. And especially for my daughter. I want her to LIVE and live LARGE.
Feel the fear and do it anyways needs to be my mantra to really get out and live life.

tiffany gardner - WRITE IT DOWN. Doesn’t that make it so real. I need to write down my dreams for my life. Then each day as I think about how thankful I am … I can also look at my list and be reminded there is so much to come! LIVE. Live.. each day!

Brady - I want to lose some weight to get healthier!! There are so many things I want to do if I will just get in shape and DO THEM!!

Routhie - I really want to be happy with what I have and what I have to be less.

stephanie - be postivie

Lisa - – take better care of my health before real problems arise
– daily bible reading and prayer
– stop being afraid to try new things
– let go – some things just aren’t that important

Jessica - Not comparing myself to others and knowing my life is perfect for me.
jessicaikiehn at gmail dot com

Becky Jones - I Need to invest much more into the lives of others…I have spent too many years focused on me…I am ashamed to say it, but it is true. I want to end well in my life- bringing joy to God’s heart.

Brenda - Trusting in God! He has big plans for us this year! I have lived in Kansas for 39 years and we are in the process of moving to Savannah, GA!

Elizabeth.cannata@csulb.edu - I am celebrating 20 years in remission from a childhood cancer this January 28,2013. I had Hogkin’s disease at 16 and am now 36. I beat the odds and was able to have two beautiful children. I would so love the $100 gift card as I want to take them to Disneyland on Jan 28,2013. I want to surprise them at school and take them to the happiest place on earth for day of family fun!!! The next thing on my list is to get all of my dental work done (I am terrified of the dentist, lose some weight, and take better care of myself.) Everything I do I do for others and I need to start doing some things for myself. Thanks for the chance to win. <3

Rena Frey - Great idea! I’ve been meaning to sit down and write my bucket list. Such a wonderful thing to appreciate yourself more as you get older. Happy birthday, Olay!

Jen - I need to learn to balance. Balance time with family vs personal time, work time vs volunteering. The time to work on bucket list goals will come about when that happens, I think!

Trina - I need to learn to relax and stop worrying so much! I have 3 great kids and great family and friends that I need to enjoy more! I would also like to learn to crochet!

Crissie - I need to let go of the fear that is holding me back! If I trust in myself and make things happen!

Amy Griffin - I need to start doing things for me and learn not to worry so much!Life is to short!

Robin M. - Like you said, I need to stop wasting my days!

nancy b - I would really like to slow our life down and take the time to really enjoy everything instead of feeling the need to rush rush rush. I have a bucket list also and one thing for me is to never give up trying to full-fill it. That is part of what makes life fun.

Analia - Love the bucket list! You are inspiring. I need to have more patience….and look forward to the future.

Lisa A - Way to Go Meg! Being intentional is so powerful! I need to FOCUS. I have lots and lots of things on my list and I need to focus and actually check one off. I get so caught up in the day-to-day tasks and happenings that I don’t STOP and focus on my kids, focus on myself, focus on my husband, etc etc. Instead of trying to do it all, I am going to focus my efforts. Thanks for the inspiration!

Ann Marie - I need to be more intentional and put a plan out there for myself. Until that happens nothing on my bicket list will be check off

Verna Lantz - I need more money. 🙂 Hehe. Don’t we all? No, really, it’s a decision. Make the decision to go for what you want, then do it.

robyn - I need to get up and DO more not just make lists or talk about it….your blog is awesome

Crystal Swoverland - *Visit NYC
*Be WITH my kids
*Say yes more
*Love Jesus more
*Take my son back to Ethiopia to meet his first family
*Learn to cook (try to enjoy it)

Megan - I need to learn to love myself and be more confident in the woman God has created me to be… and STOP COMPARING!!!

Kristi K - i need to stop letting others hold me back and do what I want to do…..even if it means doing it alone 🙂

Heike - I just do it – it’s now or never!

tara - i made a 40 before 40 list when i was 37….i’ve done a boat load on that list, but i’m no where near finished, and i turn 40 in JUNE.
I’ll just add something else to the list every year and make it a 41 before 41 and a 42 before 42…etc….. 🙂
i love a great solution. 🙂

kellie - i would visit the cabin in the mountains of Montana, where i lived up until 2nd grade. i remember SO MUCH about that place, and so little of the rest of my life. i want to experience the feeling of memories flooding back to me. a mom of 5 and i feel like my memory of my life is fading fast. and i want to choose grace and joy in the hard.

Christina - I read many blogs, and feel inspired (or depressed, depending)…but I just sit. I need to do. Be with my kids. Fix up my house. Act like I care. Because I do. (Sometimes it’s hard to get started, to get moving…)
I like Olay products too, and I just started using this moisturizer plus foundation that I really like. 🙂 The smell of it reminds me of my Grandma, too, so I like that. 🙂
I love reading what you write, Meg. And seeing your photos. You are beautiful, inside and out.

Kate - We need to have a craft weekend for those of us who want to learn to crochet!!!

Christy B - I need to spend more time away from a computer and enjoy the world around me!

Denise - I just want to live more deliberately instead of being swept along in a tide of busyness.

Elena - I need to be able to find time for myself
elena150980 at yahoo dot com

Shelley C. - I need to win this gift card!

wendy - i need to make a plan for how i spend my time. i need to schedule working out, time with God, make a plan for meals, etc. i feel like i am just passing the time and surviving instead of making my life count. basically, i need to be more intentional! 🙂

Tonya - I need to let go….and let God.

Barbara (WA) - I am old enough to be your mother, or maybe your grandmother!! My challenge is to not go to regrets or self-contempt for what I haven’t done yet in my life. I have been learning to care for myself in healthy ways and exploring what I love (not what I am expected to love). Life is very good!

Amy - I am SO proud of what I’ve done in 2012. I started running. I worked in a Ugandan orphanage this summer. We adopted a baby (not because of infertility, but because we believe in adoption).
Now, I want to KEEP doing these things. Live. Life. Whole. Heartedly. For. Christ.

mandy friend - finish my book and look to get it published , become a runner{ugh!}

Amber - Like my wise little 8 year old says, writes, and draws for me all too often, “To mom, Believe in yourself” (What is she trying to say!) Believing in possibility and goodness in self and others will foster connections, friendships, and success. Embracing and redefining my own awkward (cause yeah, social situations not my strong suite) will lead to such good fortune. That’s my start…

Tracy Fisher - Well for staters, that $100 would help! haha. Seriously though, I want to one day drive along the coast of California and stay at little cheesy seaside bungalows and eat at a few restaurants I’ve seen on Diners Driveins and Dives. And maybe learn to surf. But mostly drive with the top down and have the music turned up loud. All this with my family of four of course 🙂

elizabeth - I want to ride a big roller coaster. I havent since I was much younger and I do not think it was that big compared to coasters nowadays. I need to do it, and conquer my fear. I did do one thing on my bucket list last July – I took my teenage boys to NYC. Just us, we navigated fine and had a blast. I was nervous but it all went well.

Gretchen - I need to take the first step. I have so many great ideas swirling around in my head, but I need to take the plunge and try it out (without fear of the unknown or fear of failure).

Dara - I would say I mostly need to improve my attitude!

Laura in LA - Wow! I need to just get out of my own way and do it! Do everything! Whether I think I can or not. Just go…do…

Meg G - I need to stop worrying about pleasing everyone else or letting anyone down. Not making myself more of a priority leaves me the one unhappy and let down!

Traci - You are inspiring! A bucket list is a great idea! I need to get busy however as I am 51! Thank you for the encouragement.

Flower Patch Farmgirl - GO, girl! (I’ll go, too.)

mami2jcn - I’d love to travel but it’s just out of our reach financially.

Life with Kaishon - You are incredibly beautiful. I love your smile.
Have fun in Africa. Thank you for wanting to make a difference in the world. What can be better than that?

Stacey - Quit being fearful, especially about traveling!

Meredith Welborn - I need to be present…fully in the moment. I don’t have to spend lots of money or travel the world or make a name for myself to have great success. I do, however, have to make the most of what I have…

Amy K. - I think I need to spend some time making a list like yours!

Jane - I need to get up and read my bible each morning, to ground my day and my life in God’s word would make a big difference to my ability to living my own great story.

Christina - I need to spend less time on the internet and more time creating!

Lucy F - I love Olay products and your bucket list!

E - Hey, for whatever it’s worth, if you come to Liberia, we can help you knock half those items off you list.

gale - Such a great post – and so glad to see and hear that you’re having fun in your own skin (and taking great care of it, too, with Olay products!!!!)
I’m 50 and just now figuring out how to slow down and enjoy life – wish I hadn’t waited so long 🙂

Amy - I need to take more risks. I like being comfortable. Life doesn’t happen there.

mary - oh meg what a great post!
i am 49 and finally ready to start living my life
for so long i had been just doing what others wanted
working retail the last 32 years you get used to just being
pushed around and going through the motions
i don’t know what got that spark in my going this year, could be the diagnosis
of type 2 diabetes in february and knowing that it is now up to me to make MY life the way i WANT and NEED it to be!
one of my closest dear friends gifted me a year membership to the best all woman’s gym in my area, which i now and slowly getting in the groove of
i now make menu’s out for the up coming weeks and we are on a great budget plan with a goal of being debt free in 1.5 years instead of 5-6!
amazing what you can do when you finally decide to take charge of your own life
(a very happy birthday to talby!)

tinaehb3 - I feel like I live a good life too!!! But this is my last year in my 30’s and I am determined to be debt free by the time I turn 40 next Oct. This of course won’t include my mortgage but hopefully everything else. Also on the list is to run a half marathon…I’m up to 7 1/2 miles and tonight I ran my fastest 5k at 26 minutes. While I’m aware this isn’t the speed of lightening…it is breaking Tina (me) World Records and that’s all that really matters. I’m going to learn to make bread and try to knit. I’d also like Keith Urban to attend my birthday party… we all have dreams right? I guess I’m just lucky enough that we both celebrate our birthdays on the same day 🙂 And last but not least I’d like to blog more.

Amy@littleforalittlewhile - You will rock so many of those, especially the chickens!!!

Breeanna @ a brilliant melody - As I get older (I’m 29), I find that each year gets better. I’m actually looking forward to my 30’s! (Shocker, I know!) I have such a blessed life, but the one thing I need to get motivated on and change, is my health. I eat all the bad foods that taste so good! That is the one area I lack in. But there is always time to change!

Melissa - allow myself to be open and willing to the interruptions God brings into my life. to live in the moment, be flexible and be willing to be used by Him no matter what the cost! my desire is to be fully used up by God. it’s not always easy, but it’s my desire.

Amy - I need to go back to my New Year’s resolution of writing (fiction) every day…I want to see my dream of being published come true, and that can’t happen if I’m not proactive about it.

Molly Jenkins - I need to learn to let things go and focus on the future.

Sarah - I need to start getting in shape – I keep putting it off but I’m feeling like now is the time! I need to get up and get moving!!

Sarah{Handbags*N*Pigtails} - I need to TRUST…that the One who controls my paths in life knows what is best for me. Hubby and I took our first missions/teaching trip this past summer to Central America and even in the midst of some scary situations we were at perfect peace…because we knew we were in the right place at the right time. Where we’d been called to.
I’m excited that this path of life will take me through exciting journeys and difficult ones(that’s where we’re stretched and learn to grow) and to do it beside those I love the most.

Tiffany Clark - Inside and out, you are such a beautiful person. I feel so blessed to have met you in real life. I created a bucket list a while ago, but you gave me some new ideas. Really I think my big one is: Help people. In big and little ways. Far away and local. Through my job, random acts of kindness, mission trips, etc. And, to teach my kids to do the same. I don’t think I really need to change. I’m already doing those things, but I need to do them MORE. I need to be creative with how to help others when money can be tight.

Megan - I need to make a list and schedule time to complete it. I overschedule everything & need to learn to schedule me time

Allie - strive to be the best mom to my two boys, pray daily for patience.
need to join the gym and lose the last of my baby weight!

Hannah O - I need continued willpower throughout life AND to remember to always make myself a priority!!

Janel - I LOVE my life…although there are always, wish I would do this, that, the other. Maybe I should start with a bucket list too! Great idea! Check the Whatever blog…tops my list most days 🙂 Enjoy it!

KT - I need to just once give myself the compassion, care, enthusiasm and inspiration that I strive to give to others every day. I am just as important as the people I help every day. 🙂

Molly B - I need to get healthy and stop making excuses before I do ANYTHING else!
PS. . .I can teach you how to crochet. . .at the next Craft Weekend, perhaps?!?!?!
: )

Deb Meyers - great list! You could make pasta before bedtime tonight, however. It is the easiest thing EVER and I waited too long to try it.

Christie - I think sometimes I need to let the little things go…and to really be present in the moment more. Sometimes I’m thinking 10 steps ahead and I miss what’s happening right now! And the NOW is the living worth investing in!

Jamie M. - I need to let go of the fear and just go for it.

Carolyn W - I have been a teacher in CA for 12 years, but my position is about to be eliminated thanks to budget cuts. I feel like I am on the verge of “what’s next.” I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 7-years-old, so I never took the time to consider anything else. Now is the time for me to see what else is out there and be open to it!

Kimberly - Oddly, I need to say “no”. I am very quick with “yes”, leaving no time for me to relax/dream/be! My story is being written by other people’s demands. I think I would be happier & more giving if I took control again!

Becky - love the messy paint pic of you. i want to go to NYC and run like Phoebe in the park. that’s just one of many many things. i can now officially cross off craft weekend. that feels good…a bucket list item marked off;)

Caitlynne - I need to start dreaming!!

Nina - Create then Donate! I am going to donate something I made to someone who is less fortunate.
Something made from the heart, can warm the heart of someone you
may never meet. That’s what I am going to do right now. I made a advent
calendar, I going to drop it off at my food pantry, for someone who can
enjoy in there home this holiday season. Thanks for the push…

Kara - I really don’t know – but now I’m motivated to sit and think about it and come up with a list. Thanks!

s - I need to remember to enjoy and really LIVE the little everyday moments…

Angela A - I need to learn how to dream big. And bigger.

Daina Funk - Love this post…..love your picture of you with paint splattered all over your face….love that you have running a half marathon on your list (Woohoo!! You can do it!!) Stephanie Thiessen and I are coming to Craft weekend in February and we are pumped….I wonder how many of these things on your list will be checked off by then?? 😉

Jody - I need to get “back to work” after being home with my kiddos for 8 years!! It’s such a big step.
BTW, did you read Ashley Judd’s memoir?? Just reading it now – great book about doing God’s work & helping women & she mentions Bono quite a few times!!!! 🙂

Pippa - Stop being afraid! Pray for me!

Donna - I need to remember that a day that hasn’t gone the way I thought it would go, is still a GOOD day!! I may not have gotten everything checked off my to-do list, but good things happened anyway 🙂

michelle@decorandthedog - I need to live in the now instead of always worrying about the future!

Angela - I’m an almost 25 year old zoo preschool teacher who needs to not be ashamed of the Gospel in my workplace.
I also want to visit every continent (with the possible exception of Antarctica) at least once.
I want to be more active on the mission field (even the local one) with my husband of 2.5 years.
And I need to keep workin’ on my fitness (I know you just sang Fergie in your head.)… I’m 20lbs down with 40 to go! Yippee!

Tracy - I need to trust God and accept wherever he sends our family next year. This is a big year for us. I need patience and faith.

Heather - I need to change my attitude! I’m a new mom and left my career to stay home with my son. He can be very needy and fussy and is a terrible sleeper, and I am not handling it well. I need to learn to love him and find joy in him even on our worst days and nights. I need to learn the lessons God is trying to teach me here. I need to continue to be refined by Him and to rest in His grace EVERY DAY. I know he won’t be little forever and he won’t need me quite so much eventually, but it is so hard to see beyond the demands of each moment to the bigger picture.

Kimberly Parker - This topic really hits home for me. This year, my mom passed away and I have been left alone–no husband, no kids, no parents, no brothers or sisters, and no family. I honestly don’t know what I need to start living again, but I need to find it soon. I just know that I don’t want to continue going home after work everyday and just sitting there by myself. Maybe a list would be a great place to start!

Amber B - I really need to stop and enjoy the moment. So often it’s go go go that I can’t enjoy where I am right now. Thanks for the reminder 🙂

Andrea - I need to change my tendency to let fear keep me from just doing it! Even if I fail, it’s true what they say…we learn from our failures. Thank you for sharing your list. You’ve inspired me to start one of own…then not just file it away, but get down to living it!

Diane - I need to soak up the moments with my kids. They are only 9 and 6…and I often think I have plenty of time with them but really, the years are disappearing before my eyes!

Jennifer - I need to learn to let things go. Just be happy with where I am and who I am. I used to be that way but I kinda lost it over the last few years.

Barbara - I’d like to learn Photoshop. Oh, the things I could do with it! And I want to start a Bible study for 20’s and 30’s.

Michelle - I need to not be lazy, to not procrastinate and not be afraid. I want to live a good story!

Ashley - I want to be more giving of my time. be more willing to go and do things and less of a home-body.

Lori H - I just turned 50. I need to put myself out there more and take chances. I can be a worry wart and a chicken. I don’t want to miss any opportunities to make the most of my life.

rae - i need to figure out what i really want to do and make it happen. i’m 27 and work in a lame job i don’t like but it is safe and easy. i need to get the courage to take that leap!

Jen N. - I need to stop saying things like “in the future…” and start making things happen now. There’s no reason to wait for things like big trips because you’re not guaranteed a tomorrow.

Luis - Dear Meg,
Making pasta it’s a pice of cake for a mother of 5, really it’s very very easy.
If you are coming to Italy to visit some castle, please be my guest.
Ciao luisa

Gina - You’re such an inspiration Meg!! 🙂 I need to get serious about eating right and getting in shape!! =P

shelly - My dreams keep changing—those steadfast if only this would happen dreams of my 20’s don’t seem to matter much anymore. Living intentionally, fully, and having fun while doing it…that is my dream 😉 And if you ever need a mountain to climb, come on down and we’ll go hiking! (we could camp in the mountains and then you’d knock off 2 things lol)

kristiina - I need to get off the computer!!! I see all of these great ideas and then 3 hours slip through my fingers…..also a time zap is TV. We turn it on once the kids are asleep and just lay around until bed time. That’s precious time! Maybe I should ‘lose’ my remote LOL 🙂

Margaret - i need to stop letting my young age and my lack of money keep me from getting out into the world and the community. i need to trust that God will provide, and go be His hands and feet, even if that means by myself! whether that be down the street, or across the globe, i want to end each day knowing that i was used by the Lord to spread His purposes.

SandraD - I am 35 years old and I can honestly say I don’t have one true friend (except my husband who has loved me for 18 years). Two years ago my husband and 2 boys and I moved from FL to PA, and I have been so shy since then I can’t even make myself get out and meet people. I had a great group of friends in FL, and I feel as if I am somehow discounting those friends by making new ones? Plus it’s just not in my nature to step into a room and start talking to people. I honestly don’t know HOW to make friends..how sad is that? 35 years old and I don’t have a friend I can call when I need a morning out for coffee, or someone to do some Christmas shopping with…My story can’t end with me moving to a new state and never talking to a soul besides my poor husband who listens to everything I have to say! I have a sewing and embroidery business that I run from my home, so I can literally go days without leaving my sewing room…I miss my girlfriends!

cailan - Learning to live intentionally and for me that often means staying on top of my days by making lists and setting clearly defined goals – otherwise the days slip-slip away.c

amy jupin - you are beautiful.
inside and out.

Terri Fretwell - Very inpsiring! I need to live each moment. Take it in and know that I cannot get it back. I have mellowed in my years and now at 40, I feel 25. I truly try to enjoy each day as much as possible given the daily stresses of life. I am blessed!

Marsha Kern - To live our dream of being a small farmer, goats, chickens, donkeys! We can’t wait!

Alice H - I need a better attitude sometimes and just to sit back and relax. I always feel like I am going going going. Thanks for the giveaway.

Su@TheIntentionalHome - I keep checking for the craft weekend post 🙂 But I’ll take my chance at a $100 visa card. . thanks!! I need to spend a little more time taking care of me;it is at the bottom of the list. I need to eat better and exercise so that I have the energy to do all that God has called me to do. . . I know that exerice and eating better affects the body and mind.

Kari - I need to make more time for my husband and friends. I’m consumed with being a mom, which I love, but I wouldn’t be the woman that I am if it weren’t for my husband and friends and I need to take time to rebuild those relationships.

Molly - I need some energy. I lost my mom this year and I miss her so much. I’ve been in depression but trying really hard to move on. I need to see what’s in front of me, my husband and family. I want to make more jewelry and sell it. I want to get up and move each am (I used to walk every am, but can’t seem to motivate myself to do it these days). And stop sweating the small OCD stuff I seem to be fixating on lately. A bucket list would be a good thing to make now.

Dawn - I want to see the best in each day even when it’s a day at home doing laundry, changing diapers, and washing dishes! Life is so short and I want to soak up as much as I can. As a mom of two little ones,
I want to enjoy them and just be the best mom as I can.
I want to seek out new adventures! I want to make others feel special and feel special myself!

Preethi - I want to live life to the fullest! Not waste a minute of it 🙂

Amy Woods - I need to move my body! There are so many things I want to do – zip lines, mountain hikes, bike tours…and I’m just too heavy to do these things. I need to move my body!! Like, NOW! 😉

Sabrina - I need to start making healthy choices for myself… I want to be a mom who is full of energy!

Janelle - Oh some energy…I just oh so need it!!! It would probably come with eating better and exercising.

AJ - I need to take better care of myself in regards to my health and weight.

Heather S. - I need to stop thinking, “I should call that person and offer help/ask them to coffee/etc” and actually start picking up the phone. I am getting better, and God blesses it every.single.time I am faithful to do it – but I still need to do it MORE.

melissa erin - be INTENTIONAL. that’s all. all it takes is a tragedy to happen around me, to make me stop and realize we are not promised tomorrow, and that helps me live today with all the momentum that i have…

amanda - maybe I should start with a list too? I have NEVER made year goals or a bucket list or anything. So I think that’s what I need to do. Get a pen and paper (cute paper preferrably) and just start writing things down. Surely that would be a good start.

Ashley - I love this! I actually have a List List on my blog. I need to stop the “I’ll get to that someday” excuses and prioritize what’s important to me! Thanks for the reminder.

Christy - a post like this is what I need!! A wake up call..lol
I need to stop making excuses or waiting for the perfect time. Or what I think is the perfect time. And just go for it

Aimee - I need to live in the moment more and stop looking to the future too much. I also need to get my butt in gear and finish losing the weight I want to lose so that I can feel better about myself, be in better health and have more energy to live the life I want to live.

Aby - I need to actually stop. STOP and breathe. Stop and realize the blessing in my life and how quickly it all passes us by. STOP sweating the small stuff. STOP and smell the roses. Because they truly are ALL AROUND ME!!!

i think we are ready….girls will be here in a few minutes!

what are you doing this weekend?
please tell me about it.
are you making something…getting creative….baking…. watching a movie? (i want to see "Flight" soooooo bad!)

i can't wait to show you the crafts we are making tomorrow!!!

happy friday night!!!

Tiffany - We had the storm last weekend, so this weekend we had to put the house back together. I so wanted to make a Thankful tree or pennant for the fireplace, I didn’t get to that though. But u have to see Flight, Denzel is ah-mazing! Oh and the movie is good too. It is (and it isn’t) what you think. INTENSE. Very intense.

Ana - I spent all the weekend listening to U2 !! How good is that ?? Love U2 !!!

Michelle from australia - We are getting over jet lag. It is a long way from Australia to La and then to Vegas. But we are here after nearly two years of dreaming about it. Love it!!

Shairee - Ran the RAGNAR race – fantastic weekend!!!!!!

Jill @ 4 Fab Franklins - I had a Great time! Thank you again, and again, and again. *mwah!*
Oh, and the food! My Gosh! The food was Out Of This World Delish! Thank you all so very much.

colleen sullivan - I bought a rotary sander and am going to paint my laundry room cabinets (formerly in the kitchen) wyethe blue this week. This is very gutsy for me… you are very cool in that you are a mom, you nap, and you encourage others to create! Wish me luck!

April - I had a blast! Thank you soo much!

Jennibell - We actually had a wonderfulnweekendnplanned! We traveled out of state so I could stand up with a little girl who was a flower girl in my wedding……she was saying HER vows this weekend……funny how the circle of life works :). Sunday the kids were receiving their Christmas gift….to watch the Cincinnati Bengals play….it will be a full one….can’t wait for my chance to go to Craft Weekend….I put my name on the list in the very beginning…..

Jennifer Kasper - Loving the Photos!!! The beds look comfy, especially with kiddios and husband sometimes a mama needs a break!!! Thanks for the endless hours of inspiration and the “go to” recipies for this family of five. I am thankful I found your blog 4 years ago…. This weekend we had soccer and two birthday parties Saturday, and cleaning and laundry with some skateboarding, art and maybe a movie Sunday. We live in Maui so I love the farms and chipped paint you have. We rust and have bugs…

Lisa - What happy pictures! I had visions of spending all of Saturday in my craft room working away on Christmas gifts. Instead, after cleaning/supervising a play date/a parade/making dinner, I FINALLY made it to the craft room. Within minutes, I was trapped in there (with both children) when my youngest pulled the door knob off. Now I’m hoarse from yelling to my husband who was in the room farthest from me. And wearing headphones. There’s always tomorrow for crafting, right? 😉

Anna - We’re going to a holiday market and I hope to finish some Christmas outfits for my girls. Church and children’s choir on Sunday. Since its a 3 day weekend I hope to get some Christmas shopping alone on Monday!

Jen - I so love your pictures. I get so happy when a see a new post here! Hope you’re having an awesome, rockin’ craft weekend! No big plans here. Spending quality time with my two girls – dinner at Cracker Barrel last night, lots of outside play time (having beautiful Nov. weather in Ohio), library. Hubby’s been gone with the Army for the last eight days. They return him to us tomorrow. Yea!!!! I can’t wait to see him!

ChristineW - http://www.netplaces.com/angels-guide/fun-help-from-the-angels/finding-lost-objects.html
Pray to the angels about finding your keys!! Believe me, it works!
Hope to be able to come for a craft weekend sometime. It looks like SO MUCH FUN!

Breeanna @ a brilliant melody - Have fun at the craft weekend! I so wish I could afford to attend one of them! They look amazing! Do you know anyone in San Diego who does something similar?

Lisa - After telling one of the parents (& fellow crafter) at the school I work at about your Craft Weekends, she invited me over tomorrow for a crafting afternoon 🙂
I love seeing all the pictures of your craft weekend!

steph - oh man… i can’t WAIT ’til february!!!! 🙂
this makes me so very, very excited!
we are hunkering down at home for the weekend.

Only see “flight” if you never, ever want to get on a plane again! LOL! But seriously, such a good and intense movie.
Just got home from dinner/wine with friends. I’m sure I’ll be knee-deep in kid activities the rest of the weekend. Have fun. I’m envious 🙁

dcgraber@cox.net - Drove by the house tonight on our way to the Bread Basket (the elders and wives got together for the German Buffet). The house was all lit up!! I told Al that you were having a craft weekend and had to explain what that was to him. Just showed him these pictures. Sounds like so much fun, Meg!

Sara Torbett - Glad you got another key-I kept wondering if you ever made it out of the farmhouse, lol. 🙂 your craft house is so happy! Hope you girls have a blast.this weekend I am hoping to go into labor, I’m 37 weeks pregnant with girl #2,lol :). And probably crafting while waiting! Do you ever read Artful Blogging or Sommerset Life? I love their mags.

Molly B - Has any one ever cried upon arriving at Craft Weekend? ’cause I think I would–tears of joy!

Robin Canter - spending wkend at our ‘farm’ in north carolina – our retirement place in 2 years. not a working farm with animals – just lots of acreage. been cleaning out linen closet today and finding some vintage fabrics from years ago! super fun organizing it all. however, i’d rather be crafting in Kansas. 🙂

happygirl - Have a great craft weekend. Give Farmgirl Paints an extra hug from Happygirl. My favorite bloggers in one room. Bliss.

Caryn - I’m staying home and doing some sewing tomorrow… not sure if it will be for myself or my shop yet though 🙂 Also planning a crafty morning with some friends in a few weeks, thanks to the inspiration of Craft Weekend! Take lots of instagrams 🙂 I’ll be following.

April R - cookies
lots and lots of cookies being made 🙂

Naomi - It’s super duper cold here so I’m hoping to stay indoors and keep warm.
I just moved to Canada from the UK and I am seriously missing my sewing machine. I really really want to make some bunting to make my room pretty, and I’d love to tackle making my own quilt to keep me warm!
Hope your weekend is awesome 🙂

Lindsay - Inspired by a post I thought I saw here- or you linked to at some point- my husband and I are assembling bags of stuff for the homeless people we see on the corners who are standing with a sign, begging, etc. Just got back from Fred Meyer (like Wal Mart) with tons of travel size goodies, clean socks, protein bars, etc. A humbling start to our weekend, but as the temps here in Seattle drop below freezing tonight, I’m reminded how blessed we are and thankful we can share our blessings with others on a personal level. And I thank you Meg for being an inspiration.

Jen - i can’t believe this is your ‘job’!! not that it isn’t a lot of work (i’m sure it is) but what an amazing, fun way to ‘work’ right? have such a fun weekend!

KirstenP - Maybe I’ll finish raking leaves/blowing leaves in the yard this
weekend. Temps are supposed to be in the mid 60’s.
This afternoon I attended a Veterans Day program with other
veterans. Yep, I’m a vet – Air Force. Over 500 elem students
sang patriotic sons for us – some tear-jerking moments.

Kristin S - Thank you Meg for taking us along on your journey of following God’s calling in this unique way. Craft Weekends are a ministry!
Have a blast this weekend.
Praying for all of you.

I hash-tagged a picture of OUR own #whatevercraftweekend. If we can’t be there at least we can craft!! Can’t wait for our turn to roll around!! Thanks for always being enthusiastic about the weekend. What a blessing for everyone.

Lynne - Flight is soooo good. The “flight” scene is so real, I almost cried out of nervousness-just like if I were on a plane! Go see it. Denzel should get an Oscar nomination!

Karen Gerstenberger - Your Craft House is sooo beautiful – thank you for showing us the pics each time. Have a wonderful weekend with the ladies!
I am going to make beach wreaths to sell in my friend’s online store, help a neighbor write his resume, make a book for my mom’s 80th birthday (a surprise), and try to catch up on Katie’s Comforters Guild’s blog postings and my own blog.
