last week our entire family traveled a few hours away to watch Lauren and her team compete
in the end they got SECOND! GO RAILERS! people prone to Liver imbalances such as migraines, menstrual irregularities or PMS, eye problems, muscle cramps or twitches this is even more crucial. As spring approaches and energy starts to rise it is important to direct this energy towards physical activity or new projects to prevent it from becoming stagnant or scattered. Congrats to Lauren! Looks like a fun weekend…the craziest part about the volleyball uniforms…they’re longer now than they were back in the day when I played volleyball (and the ball was still made of stone j/k LOL) congratulations to Lauren and i love the family photo! don’t know how you do it with 5 beautiful kids, i kept busy with just two back in my day 🙂 two things…#1 congratulations lauren! i just love watching high school sports. #2 what are your camera settings for inside the gym? i tried taking pictures of my sons first basketball game and they s-u-c-k-e-d big time. nothing but blurs and horrible lighting. i have a rebel xti but you’d never know it with the pictures i produce :O) That brought tears of joy to my eyes. Because 1. my daughter played volleyball and I miss watching, 2. I’m so proud of them for going to state AND for getting 2nd place!, 3. It’s so great to see Lauren (the missing teen) again and see her smiling and so happy. It’s obvious from your pictures that she’s an awesome blocker – great pictures! Way to go, Lauren & team! Man seriously… Well dome Lauren, that is a great achievement! And on the shorts…. I remember having legs that could wear shorts that short… I only wish I worked harder at keeping those legs……. I know it’s short but if a girl can pull them off confidently without needing to be sexual then you should be as proud as punch! She seems like a sweet mature responsible girl from your posts, enjoy her xxx and well doe S mum and dad… We are the same age Meg and I cannot imagine anyone over 8 yet!!! You are doing great! I even get emotional watching my little ones taking part in school sports day (all that effort on their wee faces!) so I can’t even imagine how you must have felt. Watching kids play sports is always so fun! To see them persevere and succeed…regardless of where they place. Congrats to Lauren (who is so pretty, btw) and her team!! Congrats, this post brings back SO many memories for me! FYI- when I was playing the “shorts” were called bunners and were basically swim suit bottoms so Lauren’s are WAY better! wow that is so exciting! love the family shot of all of you. and Lauren is gorgeous. Your daughter is so beautiful and strong! I’m always shocked at those shorts volleyball players wear and thing they should probably just put on a bikini bottom, right? I think I’m just jealous, though — 🙂 I just realized, it wasn’t a leotard type outfit, but more like bikini bottoms with a long sleeve jersey. Felt the need to clarify! haha 🙂 I love volleyball! My 10 year has played for a couple years now. I secretly hope she continues to play at a more competitive level. So fun! By the way, I remember YEARS ago, college volleyball players wearing a “leotard” type outfit. It wasn’t even shorts!! I remember as a young girl going to watch games with my dad and thinking, ” I will NEVER play volleyball if I have to wear THAT!” 🙂 Congrats to Lauren. What an awesome thing to be a part of!! My youngest is really into v-ball this year, for the first time, and is doing great with it. She’s in grade 7 and is the tallest on the team. They’re wearing their school uniform gym strip shorts… looong blue satin! Julianna is so glad they’re not short! It’s a Christian school and so far I think the school finds the short shorts too ‘distracting’. I’m with them! Wow!! That’s incredible! Go Lauren!! It looks like she was a key player on the team – look at her jump! Great job Lauren! I would go back to high school just to play volleyball again 🙂 YAY … that’s awesome! Okay – I live in the Central Coast Section of the California Interscholastic Federation — where we have some of the best girls volleyball in the nation. I work during playoffs and have for 15 years. I KNOW what a big deal this is! Congratulations to Lauren and her team! Anywhere in the top 4 is huge, so 2nd is great! I also recognize how high she gets on her blocks! Very nice. An experience she will hopefully have for the rest of her life! Meg – every volleyball girl in America wears those same shorts. At least their bellies weren’t showing. 🙂 ha! That would be California. :/ wait till she starts playing beach volleyball in a bikini….. So glad that they got 2nd!! Lauren looks like she loves to play. About the short shorts…I agree they seem SO short. But I seem to remember a time when a group of girls went to cheer camp and had to have matching outfits everyday. That group chose shorts and sports bras for 1 of their uniforms! I can not believe that we did that!! Hey, for all that hard work, they deserve to hold up a #1 or whatever they want! Congratulations. And I love the family pic – what a crew. What fun it will be (and what good lessons) for us to teach our kids when they’re older, how to support one another in their activities… even if it means sitting and drawing and not watching an ounce of it. 🙂 I can’t wait for our kids to cheer one another on! JUST GOT TO READING THIS POST. The puddle pictures were so awesome made me wish it would rain! I have deoderant in my purse too! and my desk drawer! You just never know. oh, sweet annie. she looks more and more like talby all the time!! LOLs Meg…you are such a funny lady 🙂 Great pics! And glad your breath always has the opportunity for freshness. I buy tons of it, and can’t leave home without it. 🙂 Great picks of playing in the rain. I’m also weird about B.O. and other smells. Especially in my home. Is that the gum with the “juice” inside? if so, I love that stuff! And Im the exact same way-deodrant and gum all the way. In fact, Ive carried my toothbrush and travel sized paste around with me before. Theres just nothing worse than bad body stink. 🙂 Looks like you live in WA state..haha. We just moved to Kanas this weekend while it was raining. wahahha! love how you just bought it all … i do that. if I’m shopping and I’m cold, I just go buy a jacket. pfffttt! I’m a freak when it comes to smells too, especially how I smell 🙂 I have to say, never heard of anyone keeping deoderant in their purse….hmmmmm!!!! I might have to try that! Except mine usually ends up falling out of my purse and onto the floor in my car and then melting because I live in Texas. So I am always buying deodorant. I wish more people did it too! I also have deodorant in my purse. And in my desk at work. Deson’t everyone? Ha! Stinker – you got all the rain they kept promising us in Topeka that NEVER showed. Poo! We REALLY need it! I absolutely can’t function without my gum. Deoderant in your purse? You are a genius! I have deodorant in my bag too!!!! HA! and I can not live without Chapstick. So basically, if I was stranded on an island, 2 of my must have items would be deodorant and Chapstick. I love the way you catch the water droplets as they fly in the air. Ethereal. Love the volleyball pics. I just took my baby over to a volleyball game. Totally forgot how loud they are. She FREAKED! Poor baby. My bad. Meg, where do you get your super cute fabric? I love the puddle photos! Makes me want to go jump in one! Every time it rains here in AZ, my kids get excited about jumping in puddles. Sadly, most of the time it “rains” for 5 minutes and then stops, leaving no puddles. Bummer! Im the same about diet coke and chap stick. they are my gotta haves but I am working on the diet coke habit…..it could get ugly:) Love those puddle pictures!! Ahhhh, how I miss Saturday volleyball tournaments! I loved all the rain this weekend! Splashing in the puddles is a must. My 8 year old is crazy weird about smells. I have to have lipstick before I leave the house. That and mu iPhone. It is like another organ to me. Great picture of Lauren hitting the ball over the net. Were you afraid of getting your camera wet taking the pictures of Annie & friends? Love Love Love the puddle pictures! LOVE! these are the best pics ever of Annie, and there’s been some good ones!! That’s funny about the smells because I am the same way. I keep deodorant in my car in the console. And I always keep some kind of mints and never leave without the mint lip gloss from bath and body.

Where did you find your sign in the back ground of your picture? the grey sign that has family rules on it/ I love it! pffff.. it’s a relieve to hear something is not going your way ( crafty thursdays) you still sound like a miracle mother to me! making beautifull pictures of your own children and others.. enjoying your daughters sport, and still visit lots of blogs and write your own. wow.. Go Annie!! And I’m dying that “the mustache was free.” Emmet is soooo cute! I love watching my kids play sports and I think we they are all done I’ll miss the getting up and being at those early games. My eldest just started playing basketball for her Middle School and she LOVES it…she has played soccer since she was five so I don’t know if that will ever stop.. Enjoy the season of sports… Love it! I grew up watching my older brother play in a gazillion games. He was always the smallest guy on the court, but played with the heart of giant. His hard work landed him a spot at KU for two years….then on the coaching staff at KU….and now he is the head coach of his own team and couldn’t be happier. Maybe someday you’ll be watching your son run through the tunnel at the fieldhouse! Tell him to dream big!! i LOVE bball! i used to play in highschool (and was pretty good if i do say so myself :)) i’m tall. it was my thing. so naturally, i’m hoping one of my three love it too 🙂 yeah for your guy! I grew up being a “gym rat” and now I married a wrestle what a change of pace! That is so awesome. 🙂 When my 7yo said he wanted to play basketball this past winter season, I was skeptical. Turns out I love it. I love the sounds, the scoreboard (even though we’re not supposed to care about that at this age) and the controlled climate. And my son is really good at it, which makes it more fun. that’s exactly how I feel about football, I watched my husband play through HS, then in a semi-pro league, then once his body started screamin’, he played in an adult flag league. Now both of my boys play and he coaches….I LOVE football season 🙂 Enjoy it, time passes so quickly! LOVE the new header!!! our craft thursday this week has March Madness theme to it. i found these big paper mache letters at Joann's for $3.00 each on sale. (how great is the NEW joann's in wichita?! awesome.) i grabbed the KU paint colors and we had the glitter at home already. sean and talby painted the K. it took a few coats to get it covered fully. then covered it in glitter. FANCY. we also made posters for our windows (just like when i was a cheerleader!) tonight we are going to watch the game together as a family. i will fight my urge to get up and do other things while it's on….it's hard to sit still and just watch. i think. I have a small cheer girl with big cheer dreams. KU is on her radar which delights me as it is just close enough to be away from home. I am so sorry that you haven’t even had a chance to talk about your sad jayhawk loss. I am wondering if I could borrow your letters and turn them into UK for the Wildcats 🙂 My sweetest friends are Jayhawks…and we always joke because they live in LExington, KY….home of UK. We always talk about how their letters are confused. But through the years, they have turned me into a jayhawk lover (behind the cats)….so I was so sad to see them go out of the tournament to VCU. Hope your kids are not too bummed! Hubby and I were just in San Antonio for our 10th anniversary & the KU people were everywhere! There was a section of the Riverwalk that was sectioned off with large KU Alumni Association welcome banners and all that. One of my roommates in college was the baby Jay mascot. I used to go into a storage room at the arena to help her get into her outfit. I still remember the size 20 something men’s B-ball shoes laying around in there. Thankfully when I was in college in the 70’s it was not as hard to get tickets for the games and we won a lot then too. I can never walk away from our boys when they’re on….they do some amazing passes and slam dunks….just don’t want to miss any of it. rock chalk! i have a hard time watching the games though—i get all funky and nervous. LOVE IT! Rock Chalk! Love the sparkle and the team spirit. I lived in Witchita from 1999-2000. A brief stint but I loved it none the less. So glad there is a new rockin’ Joann’s. Congrats. Hmmm…I noticed a shirt change on Annie in the pictures. We only watch the Superbowl. The letters would be cute for anything though! they are sparkly!!! But what in the heck is rock chalk jayhawk??? honestly….they loved it! sean got a frisbee that was thrown into the crowd. all of my kids are happy just about anywhere if there is dr. pepper involved. then the kids and craig slid down the railing….and only one kid fell. we drove through neighborhoods and looked at the lights on houses taking the long way to Krispy Kreme. family night is always better with late night donuts. i am exaggerating…but that is me doing the teenage wink that i seem to see everywhere on the facebook and the googles and the intra-nets. this really was a good night. oh….i am so dang hungry for a donut right now…..not cool. ***************************************************************************************************************************** BUT….IF you are feeling like a cranky pants and don't want a mastercard….DON'T GO. it. is. Kimberly Dial - Brings back memories of my youngest (who is now 29!) … if he wasn’t actually outside playing b-ball, he was dribbling and spinning the ball inside or making imaginary baskets as he leapt down the hallway towards his room. Basketball was his first love! I can still hear me saying “Philip Andrew, enough already!” … I wouldn’t take anything for those moments & that sweet boy … thanks for sharing!
