crazy busy

do you feel crazy busy?

i don't like that feeling.
i want to be relaxing in the christmas season….enjoying the moments…being INTENTIONAL.
but instead i am doing the opposite.
bleck.

i have only TWO sets of photos left to finish up and deliver.
then i am taking a break from pictures (mostly) for awhile.
i plan on getting crafty with my etsy shop all winter.

i have to share the family pictures i worked on yesterday. (took them over a month ago though)
it was our second shoot…and so much fun.

is that cute or what?
we had great light…i missing those fall evenings already!

change of subject:

ashley ann…my online best friend who i cannot wait to meet in person…
and have her take MY family's picture…
and go to the barn sale…
wrote some very sweet things about me on her blog today.
she makes me look pretty good!
HA!
i check in on ashley everyday.
and i bet you will too now that you have been properly introduced.

****i am so happy that so many of you made crescent chicken.  that just made me so happy!****

AND…Jody has a raffle going on for water4christmas.
and i just bought her husband's christmas album and can't wait to get it.
he is a seriously rockin' pastor!

adrienne - omgosh… those blue eyes are beautiful!

Pat - Great crescent chicken dish! I love all these photos ~ your children are adorable. Hope you have a fun weekend!

sharmilla - Just another comment to say THANK YOU for the crescent chicken recipe!!! It has been snowing here for days, it’s minus two billion degrees outside,(no seriously… I’m in Canada) and this was the perfect, warm, gooey, comfort-food dish to get my family over the mid-week hump. Even my fussy 14 month old gobbled it up like it was a cookie or something. We will be making it again, and next time I will even blog about it myself to pass the goodness on.

amy wade - ha! i went to high school with sara & was good friends with her older sister! it is such a small world! 🙂 great pics btw!

Rach - It’s bad when your list keeps getting longer right? Even if you are constantly checking things off it? I can totally relate!

Laura Phelps - yes, cut out the pictures for a while
I know that crazy busy feeling…it is EVERY CHRISTMAS
but not this year
by the Grace of God I have figured out how to NOT make myself crazy
and it has been wonderful
(for now…this can change in a matter of minutes!)
join me in the peace!

amy - ~dying over that adorable family.
~baby fever kicked up two notches.
~miss fall too–it’s actually COLD here in the south!
~miss seeing those horse apples on the side of the road. now it’s just ice. bah!
~guess i better make crescent chicken or i’ll be the only one in the entire northern hemisphere who hasn’t tried it!
~hoping you find some time for you in the craziness.

H-Mama - Girl, you’re one of my faves. Those cheek pix are priceless!!

Sara Cameli - Crazy busy seems to be (sadly) the norm this time of year. So…I called in sick yesterday (bad girl!) and got my hair colored and a trim, had a nice lunch with hubby at cozy mexican cantina, and felt like I had switched from super crazy busy to just kind of busy…if only for a few hours. Today its back to the whirlwind. Love seeing what you are up to!!!!!

Ashlee Archibald - those cheeks! those striped socks! oh man, i’m already in love! 🙂 those are beautiful meg 🙂

christine - Awesome photos. What do you call those bumpy green things!Found some on a hike recently and i love them!Obviously from some type of tree but that was the first time i’d seen them. So it looks like I can check off whats for dinner tonight.Crescent chicken it is!!!!!!

Tracy Sharlette - I just made the Cresent Chicken tonight…my kids ate it up like crazy!! I can’t wait to share it with some of my fam and friends! I also made a bit too much Chicken/Cheese combo but have it saved for Quesadilla’s!! Thank you again 🙂

Kate - Those kiddos could not be more adorable – love them! (Doesn’t hurt that I’m their aunt!) Great pics.

Kae - I admire both you & Ashley! You both have amazing pictures & so talented!

Casey - Incredible Blog! Ashley Ann turned me on to your blog today and i cant stop reading I’m becoming a stalker! I am a fellow Photographer (more for fun only) and love your pics and sense of design! I also made your cresent chicken tonight (amazing) and my oober picky husband ate 2nds and maybe 3rds…Thanks for sharing!

Kathy - Love your blog and Ashley’s too! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Stephanie - I also made the crescent chicken last night-awesome!! I cooked way too much chicken last night, so tonight I made your mexican chicken-another winner!! Post more recipes please, I’m counting on you for dinner next week! Not to add to your stress level or anything!!

jenjen - Beautiful pictures! I know the feeling – I have been like that for the past two weeks. I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind — getting only 3 hours of sleep a night. But last night was my last big thing (except for a birthday party on Friday — which I have no idea what I am doing for…) I hope things settle down for you soon!
XOXO
Jen

Carrie - well it looks like I am not the only one who loved the Crescent chicken so good!

jennifer - Oh those cheeks!!!

Sarah @ Clover Lane - Those are some of your best pics yet Megan! Gorgeous, and sharp and the light is beautiful.

Elizabeth - All of those pictures are beautiful, but that second one is ADORABLE! And, yes, I do know the feeling of crazy busy, and I don’t like it either.

Sara - Hey, Meg! I’m all the way in yucky California and your blog makes SMILE! I love it. My husband says I’m a blog stalker, but I think he’ll stop teasing after he tries the crescent chicken I’m making tonight!!

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - Ahh I’m missing that autumn light too. Love the photo with dad pinching the little one’s cheeks…precious!

julia - OH.MY.GOSH. I love that second picture! Perfectly hilarious!

Debra - I love your blog so much, it is so happy and bright! Wish we were buds!

Heather Giustino - love the picture of the dad holding the baby’s cheeks – so sweet!
and we’re having crescent chicken for dinner tonight! : )

Tess S. - crescent chicken is on the dinner list.
you AND ashley have been on my blog list for awhile now. i’m inspired by both of you daily.

Ruth - i think these are some of my favourite photos you’ve posted! what a gorgeous family and beautiful light.

Jaimie - 1. i can’t wait to see your etsy goodies
2. that family is ridiculously cute. you are so lucky to have photographed them.
3. ashley is awesome.

Christy - The photos are great! Beautiful family.
I totally hear you on the busy! Trying to juggle full time work, full time mom-wife-housekeeper-pet mom, etc & Christmas crafting, cooking, decorating & shopping. I hope to finish this week & enjoy the final days before Christmas.

shelly - We made your Chicken cresants last night too! YUMMY! Our 6 year old ate 4 of them…then my lovely hubby took the last 4 to work today (he never leaves the good stuff!)
Sorry that you’re frazzled but its nice to not feel like I’m the only one! Your pictures are beautiful!!! If I had a baby with cheeks like that, I’d spend my whole day playing with them too! 🙂

Suzanne - I love looking at Ashley’s blog as well as yours! And I am seriously looking forward to your Etsy shop! I love your pillows! I bought a couple of your last batch and one is going to my neice. The fabric was perfect w/ a quilt that I had made for her!

the inadvertent farmer - Came over from Ashely’s blog…and she was right, you rock! I have already added you to my blog list (which I usually never do on the first visit mind you!) You have a very uplifting cherry site here and I will certainly be back! Kim

elizabeth - That baby is just to die for. And your photos are always, always so full of joy and color! Thank you for sharing them with us.

Heather - We made the crescent chicken last night and gobbled it down. Even my 21 month old asked for more! Thanks for sharing that recipe!
I LOVE the pictures of dad squeezing baby boy’s cheeks. SO adorable!

Angela - It should be illegal for kids to be that cute!!!
I bought crescent rolls yesterday to make crescent chicken soon. And to my happy surprise, the Pillsbury butter flake ones were cheaper than the Great Value ones. Yay! 🙂

Alaina - Hey Meg~
Just wanted to let you know my family LOVED the crescent chicken. My 9-year-old literally inhaled them! Thanks!
By the way…..what are those green ball thingys? And those cheeks – OMW!

Toni :O) - Those cheeks are adorable! Great photos, especially the one of them both looking up…SO sweet! :O)

Cori - I love your blog. It makes me happy.

Christy - Ooh I love Ashley I check both of your blogs daily.
I can’t wait to see the pictures!!

I am not a sewer and don’t think I could make one myself. I love the animal print and green one also. Just let me know if your selling them this year. Having been on computers for oh, 25 years (eeek!) I always take a break about every ten to fifteen minutes and look far away, making sure I focus on something out there. Don’t have to get up from the chair. Just look outside. Keeps the eye muscles working at different focal lengths. Blessings always ~

The frosting was fantastic, too. I was a little worried about the mess they would make but there was not a crumb left on the floor! I swear, the children inhaled the cupcakes. My own three are begging for more….in Christmas colors, school colors, Colts’colors, Valentine colors, etc. Thank you!!!

he is proud of his car….it IS pretty sweet.

he parks it on the other side of the high school parking lot.
i pointed that out to the 4 youngest kids one morning and said "he is smart to protect it".
and now every morning…literally…annie asks "wheras smote jonafon's cawar?"
(where's smart jonathon's car?)
and then when she finds it shouts "THERE IT IS!!!"

thanks jonathon.
hope your senior year is the best.

amy d - those turned out SO good…i can’t wait to tell him what annie does…that’s too cute. i remember when he got that car and i just kept thinking as i was looking at it…not fair, it has more gizmos than mine!!

kasey - so cute !!
xo

Mother Runner - Those are great!
And he’s such a cutie…never seen his hair so flat – adorable.

susie whyte - i just took my husband’s picture on those steps when we were in town last week! i keep calling them justin’s senior pics(except his is halfway to senior citizen). ha ha.
that annie is one smart cookie!

Tracy - Awww.. what a doll – he’s SO CUTE and the car is pretty sweet! :o) Great pictures as usual, Meg!

Sharla - I loved those stairs the last time I saw them and I love them this time too.

Renee Khan - What great pictures.
You have a fantastic blog and it is a real treat to come here.
Renee xoxo

Dana Banana - Remember my blue Monte Carlo?? Fun times.

Jeannine - Beautiful photos, as always =)
My first car was an ’89 Caprice.
Just sold it last month to help pay for another year of school, heh.

Stephanie Carroll - I want to babysit Annie.

Sarah @ Clover Lane - So so good…love them all…my favorite is the one on the steps too…something about that color really pops. You are awesome.

traci - that is a sweet car!! my son parks at the far end of the parking lot too and he has an old truck. i think it’s cute. great photos meg.

Michelle - Hi Meg! I so enjoy all your photos. You are super talented!
Would you please share some photo tips such as lens, camera settings, etc.?
Thanks so much!

Gratsia - I’ve just discovered your blog and its amazing, such beautiful pictures. Really your great at photography you really have an eye for it.
I’ve been trying to find your etsy page as well but havent been able to.
Have a good week
xx

Kathy - Great pictures he is a cutie!

Diana - I’m gonna sound like the oldie here… oh wait, I AM! LOL! My first car was a *ahem* used 1971 Ford Maverick, in that awful shade of green they used to have back then. But I loved that car, for sure!
Really love the fifth photo down, the closeup of his car with him leaning on the front of it.
Have a great year, Smart Jonathon! 🙂

Heather - I love the antiqued one on the stairs!! I parked on the other side of my high school parking lot too, but my reasons were a little different. My car was sooo big -1985 Caprice Classic- that I had to park in the back where there was enough room!

Staci - What a cutie 🙂 and NIIIIICE car 😉 And of course….I love your Annie!!!!! I’ve never even met her…yet I can just HEAR her saying that 🙂

Julia - all the pics are great – the third from the top is really creative – did you mess around with the image or did it come out like that?
hmmm..would he have been as excited about a 1979 powder blue Monte Carlo??? that’s right…you have a right to be jealous.

amy - the third pic, on the steps, is pretty amazing.
why didn’t we have cool senior pics like this? mine were the typical, black wrap/faux off the shoulder dress thingy.
100% pure UG!
anyways, i digress.
great job!

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - Wow that is a nice car. My first car was a cranberry colored Buick Somerset…sweet ride. Those were great pics Meg.
