Daphne Paramo -Your photos are beautiful and brought Christmas cheer into my morning .
God Bless you and Merry Christmas!
the whyte house-how fun!
i LOVE mpix, however i just switched to picture perfect, a locally owned store in wichita. both companies do the same quality of work and have generally the same prices. mpix has a more user friendly site, and they show you the preview of your photo in all of the sizes(I LOVE THAT!),but they don’t do PAYPAL!!! do you hear me, MPIX?!?! i need you to do paypal!! 🙂 haha.
Emily-So cool! and really loving mpix. Never heard of them before but in love with too many of their products!!
Ruth Baumgartner -Meg, Congratulations! If you are a dork, you are the coolest dork I know…. I always think-along with the rest of the world, “If I lived in Kansas, we would be total BFF’s…” You deserve every happiness, and any spotlight you recieve!
Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!
PS If you ever come to Montana, or go to Utah again, PLEASE tell me! I would LOVE for you to photograph our family!
Brandi Pryor-Lies-i love mpix. i love that you are featured on mpix. it’s always fun to see someone you know in places you frequent. smashing good time! 🙂
sue -Love everything you do Meg. Any chance of a little look at the Winter List. Please.
Suz -cool, just a comment on your outfit though…next time make the jeans super skinny if you are wearing a long top like that…better lines for you, beautiful Meg.
megan-squeee, that’s awesome, meg! the pic is great! and, do you know what else I think is awesome, that you linked to my humble blog….what??! girl, you’re the best. xoxo
Heather G.-You’re so famous!!! Great picture! xoxo!
Isabel Kallman @AlphaMom-so cool and you look fabulous, of course! Congratulations. Your family must be so proud.
Tiffany -You look so official. Mommed out, then the Chucks. I luv it. Thanks for keepin it reals. Talby is gorgeous in the b&w and Sean is so handsome. Keep up the good work.
Cindy -Such a great ad! You look adorable and your list is so NOT dorky! We had our wedding gallery wrap from MPix too. Great company! Thanks for sharing!!!
Kimberly Dial -You’re a celebrity! Congrats! You are so cool 😉
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-Well congrats Miss Meg. Very exciting for you I’m sure. You look like a real live celeb!
Deborah-I opened our Jan issue of Pop Photog the other day, and there you were. I promptly showed my hubby and after her drew a blank look, I explained to him that it was Meg, the awesome blogger and toger that I always talk about.
How cool!!! I was thrilled to see you there! Btw, you do NOT sound like a dork!
Blessings!
Deborah
Anj -Ack! meg you are so cool!!! I want to be just like you 🙂
seriously sassy mama-What a cool place! Now, if I could just take a good pic to print.
Ellen -I was looking at my Jan 2012 Popular Photography mag on my Nook Color when I saw this ad. I have been following your blog and knew you immediately! It was exciting to see a familiar face, even though you do not know me at all. Great ad!
danielle-I saw your add in the photography magazine I get! I was like I KNOW HER! Oh wait I don’t 🙂 I get the blog world and the real world confused sometimes. Congrats!
Sandy -WOW that’s so cool! Congrats!!
Kelley Wenzel-How fun?! I love mpix.com, too. Ten years ago, would you have guessed this is the life you’d be living? Reaching and impacting thousands through your blog and being featured in magazine articles. Good for you, Megan!
Kim-My 3 year just pointed to your picture and said she wanted to, “go there.” I said, ” inside that picture?” she said, ” yeah, I’ll just go there and play and then come home.” your photo display looks like a good time to her! 🙂
Lynette -Meg,
This is soooo cool! Congrats! Very proud of you!
Sharla -Very cool! I think I am the dork. I have never heard of mpix! Definitely checking it out
betsy-You look SO cute! What a perfect photo shoot! I’ve never met you in person, but I feel like this picture is a perfect representation of what we know about you: fashionable, friendly, crafty, great mom, artistic, great designer, brave, bold, warm!
I kept looking at that picture of the crayons and couldn’t imagine where you found such GIANT crayons … but then realized it was probably a canvas of one of your photos. Right? Am I the only one that wanted to google “extra large crayons” when looking at this? 😉
elz-I love mpix. I’ll make sure I continue to use them now that I “know” someone in their ads!
Southern Gal-I love Mpix. Thanks to them we were able to get my daughter’s 16×20 bridal portrait mounted on matboard with lustre coating and put it in a frame from Michael’s all for $51! How neat that you’re a spokesperson for them.
Di -Yea, you, my friend! what does it mean that our pet turtle made it onto the background photo? the boys will LOVE it! shh…matt hasn’t gotten his pic yet. So proud and thrilled for you, my favorite dork!:)
AshleyAnn-So I’ve been looking for the magazine EVERY time I’ve been at the store this month. The anticipation was killing me. Such a great shot. Love it…so happy to see you featured. They are smart people over there at Mpix 🙂
Lisa -My husband just saw this in Popular Photography and showed me. You are SO BIG TIME! So happy for you. (Oh, my semi-oblivious-to-blogdom recognized you. Double big time 🙂
happygirl-This is so cool. You deserve the best in life. Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your new found FAME.
Katie -The Winter List is genius! Congrats on Mpix…I am hoping to make photo books soon…January!
Terrie-How exciting! You are far from a dork! Goof maybe…dork nah! Just Kidding! 🙂
I’m getting ready to place my first MPIX order this week. I’ve heard a LOT of good things about them from the peeps in my photography club!
Phew! No pressure on a new craft today! LOL!!
I’m making an ornament wreath from my son-in-laws Grandma’s ornaments.
She passed away last year, so this should be a nice way to remember her for them. 🙂
Thanks for the inspiration from last year!
Tanya H-That’s WAY cool!! You don’t sound like a dork at all!
Mae-Awesome!!! Can’t wait to check it out! Love your Winter List…
Laura Phelps-fabulous
so happy and excited for you
I wish I were a nice dork
I am way too sarcastic
and vulgar
but NICE sarcastic and vulgar
your hair looks AMAZING too
Mindy Harris-you don’t sound like a dork. you are adorable. i want to be in a magazine someday. there’s a little pic of my holiday table in women’s focus. 🙂 ha. it’s a start.
it started out a little rough. i thought "it's so cold, i'll make the kids some breakfast…they will like that" (you know…like those good moms) i made them scrambled eggs. NO ONE wanted them. rejected.
i drove my kids to school and went to get gas on the way home. i was so happy because i had $1.00 off my gas per gallon from our fuel points! (we bought gift cards to buy the gifts we are already going to buy anyway and that way you get 4X fuel points until the 11th… it is so RAD!) after i finished filling up…. my car wouldn't start. i was in my pajamas!! and my cell phone was at home on my bedside table. i waited and hoped it would fix itself. it didn't. so i had to go and ask for help in the store…. in my pajamas. niiiiiiiice.
two different guys tried and they finally got it going. thankful for that. i went straight home & cuddled on my couch with a cup of hot coffee & tried not to move for the rest of the day.
here are my feet…. parked in front of a space heater…. all day.
i wore my hat all day… and that blanket.
i kept my hands warm too.
i sat here until i had to pick up the kids. and i FINISHED all my photo editing!! hallelujah. when my computer broke awhile back all of that work had to go on hold so i was still not done. but now i AM! finally.
i made my christmas card online. i finished up my online shopping.
oh internets….how do i love thee.
i have one more thing and I AM DONE with all my shopping! that makes me happy happy happy.
but we have no decorations out other than the tree. so that will be started on today.
AND my washing machine is still broken. i know right?!
it was the week before thanksgiving!!! can you say S L O W ? ? ? not too happy with our service center…. not at all. they obviously don't have five children & don't understand the enormity of three weeks with no washing machine. it's safe to say my kids' hygiene could be a bit gross at this point.
i did hop up to put dinner in the crock pot and make some cookies. it seemed like a cookie kind of day.
i LOVE when my kids come home and they are overjoyed by homemade cookies on the counter. that's a good feeling. much better feeling than having your scrambled eggs rejected.
some happy mail arrived from heather bailey….lovely fabric but what i love even more is this cup!
MOM's ONLY. no one else may use my cup. ever. MOM's. don't even try it.
i found some cute stuff while surfing….
border line ugly/really awesome mirror that would probably rock in my house at pier one. it's BIG
love this zebra chair…. it was at Kirlands. cute set of pencils… at paper source.
you can believe me when i say…. i got on the NOTIFY ME email when i saw this watch.
i fed my kids a quick dinner at 5 and then they all loaded into the car with Craig and left for the WHOLE night to go to a KU basketball game! he had a few tickets and wrestled all day with who to pick to go with him. and then finally decided to find two more and take them all. i love that. i love that he didn't want any one of them to be sad so he found a way to take them all. this was the picture he sent me. he said annie fell asleep after half time. HA!
as soon as they left i sat right back in my spot and kept working on pictures!
i got up again at 11:15 and put on real pants instead of pj pants and my coat and went to walmart for this…
annie's teacher is starting a KNITTING CLUB during indoor recess. i teared up when i read the note. that is the cutest, sweetest, most adorable idea ever. how awesome is she?!! would you volunteer to teach first graders to knit? me either. she is amazing. and annie was SO excited about it.
so it was worth the cold trip at 11:15 to an empty walmart to get knitting supplies for today. totally.
ok…. it's TIME TO DECORATE THIS HOUSE for christmas.
crank up the Vince Guaraldi Trio. (hee hee hee)
oh yeah…. i know how to rock.
happy wednesday. i hope you get some chrstimas cheer going on at your house too.
Renee -Baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies using your recipe right at this very moment! It was an after supper surprise for my daughter who is 7 and LOVES to bake with me. This is something I don’t do often enough and during this busy time of year I begin to realize it is not the amount of gifts under the tree but time with me that she truly cherishes!
Thumbs up for the recipe from our house!! Thank you for sharing!
crystalbeutler-Pajamas + broken car + no phone = one of my worst nightmares. So glad someone was able to get your car started so you didn’t have to wait for a tow truck.
Knitting club — love it. My old roommate (before I got married) was a school teacher and she did that for her class. She wrote to all the knitting companies to get free yarn and needles. It was so cool. Love teachers who love teaching. Annie will always remember that. Always. Can’t wait to see what she makes. My first project was a midi skirt and top for my Barbie. I still have it. It’s hilarious looking.
Is it awful that it’s December 9th and I still don’t have my house decorated??
Heather@Creative Family Moments-I can SO relate. My washer broke the day before thanksgiving. Thankfully a neighbor let me use her washer, until – desperate and not wanting to bother her anymore – I did two loads in my bathtub using a swiffer handle as an agitator. Yeah. We have a new washer. SO thankful!
Lindsay F. -I saw that mirror at Pier 1 this week! It looks much different in person, almost like stained glass… Loved it. I’m sure it would look great in your house!
Randi-I love that Annie’s going to learn to knit. I do knitting camps for little kids all the time and it’s so rewarding to see kiddos catch on to something that’s almost a lost art.
Kate S. -And this is exactly why I will NEVER, EVER leave my house in pajamas. I live in fear that something like this will happen . . . it’s like that joke about never wearing your “holey” underwear because that’s the day you’ll end up in a hospital, having your clothes cut off of you and every nurse in the building will hear about the hideous undergarments you wear.
karen gerstenberger-You probably made the guys’ day at the service station in your pjs! My mom once drove my brother to school without changing out of her bright green bathrobe…and her car was totalled on the way home. Mom was fine, but no more 1966 Mustang – and many embarrassing moments spent on Main Street in a bathrobe, as buses full of kids (and countless cars) passed by.
We need to decorate, too – I’ve been editing my book all week and haven’t had time yet. Today is a Christmas cookie-baking party, and tree farm day is Saturday! YAY!
Mrs Montoya-You are just the cutest ever. I’ve always feared I would get stuck in a situation like that when I leave in my PJs. I am sure you rocked it. And I do think the knitting club is the sweeest idea. That’s one brave lady.
Jenna@CallHerHappy-what a fun little post full of fun things to do! cookies, knitting, surfing, editing, pjs 🙂
Jenna
callherhappy.com
Tiffany -Cute hat Mamasita. And why oh why does food rejection hurt so bad. Happy Thursday!
Gemma @ Musings of a gem-I love these posts Meg! You were brave to venture out to Walmart in the cold!!!
Gemma x
Lisa -As bad as this may sound, I cannot wait for all my kids to be in school! 🙂 The thought of working on whatever I need to get done or doing what I want while they are gone sounds great! Glad your day didn’t end up as crazy as it started.
Aby -you totally and completely crack me up. I want to be your bff. lol
sue -You need to come live with me in the desert. Nice and warm most of the time.
Tonya-i’d much rather be caught in public in my pj’s than w/out some support for the girls…no one needs to see that i promise you!
i’m so envious of your day at home! i used to have days like that until i decided to go back to college. somedays i really, really miss being home!
my hubby took our daughter to the ku game last night too! so eli and i had a nachos, popcorn and transformers dark of the moon night…it was perfect! i even got told numerous times that i am the best mom in the history of moms!!! he’s only 7, so he still thinks i’m pretty cool! 😉
Amy-What a sweet, sweet teacher! I love it! And what a lucky little Annie, I bet she’ll remember it and that teacher forever, you never forget the good ones!
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-I’ve been caught in my pajamas before…not pretty and I still go out in my pajamas (such the risk taker that I am) but I did learn to never be in public without my bra….HA!
becky@oursweetpeas-OK we are long lost sisters. My washer is broken and we are on week 4. Our lovely service department keeps saying “well, this is the LAST POSSIBLE THING it could be” and then they tell me they have to order another part that will be here in a week. I have 3 kids, one who still poops her pants and one of my twins has potty issues at night. Yeah, it’s good times over here. 🙂 Thankfully my sis lives close and she gets to have me crash her house 2x/wk. to do laundry. I am a total freeloader, what can I say??
OH and I rock out to Vince too AND declared today a cookie day (sugar cookie though)! Enjoy your days bundled up and I must agree with the others you know how to rock a hat and gloves. 🙂
erin -I felt that way today. No makeup, sweats, Uggs, big ugly mens t-shirt, not so pretty ponytail. To cold to care!
Amanda Fuentes-These are my favorite kinds of posts! Keep them up! Can’t wait to see the house decorated pics. Happy Wednesday.
Jennifer-Meg…you are just too cute in your hat and PJs…I love it! It’s finally getting a little chilly down here in South Texas–I am enjoying it. Lots of hot chocolate and homemade cookies have been on our short list these past few days with the weather change. Have fun with all your Christmas decorating. 🙂
Ivie -I rarely comment – but I always check in. And today your post cheered me on a very cold and windy day in the Netherlands. Thanks Meg! x
Kimberly Dial -OMG … don’t ‘they’ realize that if ‘they’ don’t get your washing machine fixed soon it’ll break down again catching up all the laundry! LOL God bless your heart 🙂 Struggling with Christmas cheer today in WV … it’s raining & cold (with ‘talk’ of snow on the evening news!) … my bones hurt & I’m …. stopping right there … (sorry, I was sounding like a bit of a brat … I apologize) … Merry Christmas!
April M -Not sure what it is but I don’t feel like whining ’bout anything after reading that 🙂 what an awesome thing! Thanks Meg!
Teresa Thomas-Gee thanks, now I need to make cookie dough. 😉
Cecilia-Awesome hand warmers! I’ve had a similarly cozy day with ups and downs today. I’ll take it 🙂
Kim from Miracle-Round-Glad to hear your car started again. I often forget my phone at home. Gotta work on that!
It looks like your day got better as it went along. It must feel great to have all your pictures edited.
Cute coffee mugs are a must. That way your kids (or in my case, husband) won’t steal it!
Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails-Funny…that same CD is played in my (third grade) classroom on a regular basis now. The kids LOVE listening to Christmas music during free time/indoor recess. And the best part? I scored a ton of brand new, still in plastic Christmas CDs at the local thrift store for only $1.99 each!
Love your slippers:)
Kacey-These are my favorite posts! I’m sorry your Tuesday wasn’t wonderful, Meg – hope your Weds. is much better!
p.s. I occasionally wear my pj’s to drop off my kindergartener and I always think, What if I have to get out for some reason? But it’s just so much warmer and cozier in comfy pj’s!
AshleyAnn-I really want to sit and drink coffee and eat chocolate chip cookies and get work done on my laptop…in pj pants…next to you.
jen@thecottagenest-Poor Meg! And that is why I rarely wear my pj’s to take Emma to school. I had a friend that was in a minor car accident a few years ago after she dropped her daughter at school and she was wearing her pj’s. She was so embarrassed and I have always kept that in my head. But then I read your story and I thought. So what? You survived it. It wasn’t fun but the world didn’t end and now I think tomorrow I will wear jammies to take her in celebration of you! Thanks for liberating me.
Ashlyn@Pinecone-I always think about that happening when I am in the pj’s – isn’t it great to know our worst fears CAN be realized 😉
xoxo
Kerstie-Just listened to the song with my 3-1/2 year old son. His response…… “what are you joke-en me with that song”!!!!! What do kids know…… 😉
52scrap -I absolutely LOVED this post! Probably because I can so relate!! 🙂
Vonda -That has always been one of my biggest fears when I bring the kiddos to school!!! The elementary school is very close, but now that they are in middle school I do at least put on my sweats-I still wouldn’t want anyone to see me tho!:) I think the knitting club is the most wonderful idea! I wish I knew how to knit. Your cookies look soooo good! Have a wonderful day!
carissa... brown eyed fox-bless your heart… in your jammies!
darn cars… why do they have to break at the worst possible times!
and i say… even though i loooove eggs… cookies win over eggs anywho! :O)
gOOd moms make scratch cookies!
Erika -I am so sorry to hear about your car and washing machine. The washing machine would kill me!!! May I ask where you got your darling hat? I LOVE that there are other great teachers out there.
Seriously Sassy Mama-I love to knit. i am doing it right now, next to my space heater.
jeana-Ha! I’ve been sitting with cozy boots and my gloves on all day. It is TOO cold for me. Love that they are starting to knit at school…if only I had one girl…just ONE! Ha! Merry Christmas!
Missy -Klutz books publishes a great learn to knit. Really simple, easy instructions with a few little projects too. Even I used it to help me refresh my memory!
Tracy -Rock Chalk Jayhawk, Go KU!!!
Wish my kids could have gone to the KU game, but alas, I married a Mizzou alum!
happygirl-Awwwwe. You’ve got troubles my dear. But you look MAAAAHVALOUS.
Amy G -I really, REALLY want that cookie recipe – they look amazing and I don’t have a great chocolate chip cookie recipe. Just can’t find one that I totally love. Please share it!
alaina -That is soooo cool that Annie’s teacher is going to teach them to knit! LOVE!!!!!!!!!!! However, i must say i was a little shocked that she is allowed to take knitting needles to school. We had a little boy in kindergarten get suspended for a plastic knife in his lunch pail to spread his peanut butter on his apple slices. Appalling, isn’t it?! When I inquired as to why, that this was OBVIOUSLY not a weapon in a 5-year-old’s hand, the principal told me, “The rule is no knives on campus, so it must be enforced”. Granted this was in OK right after the bombing in OKC, but still! Crazy. So glad to see that common sense is playing out in Annie’s school! 🙂
D-I read your blog all the time and am also consumed with RAINBOW colors. I saw this on Pinterest today and totally thought of you. Oh and I WANT that recipe for those cookies, love crispy cookies and they look like just my kind!!! Mine have been turning out chewy and I do not like that!! http://pinterest.com/pin/83246293081782387/
Dana @ Bungalow'56-Loved this post Megan. The car incident? As I’m driving my suburban to drop off the kids, I will often say a little prayer that I make it back home without anyone having to see me. I get especially nervous when I don’t have my phone. So I can rest easy now, since it happened to you, you’ve cleared the universe of bad mojo for the rest of us : ) haha. Although I’m guessing your PJS are colourful and cute, and it wasn’t quite as bad as it would be for most of us.
Dana
Lisa -My first grader is begging to learn to knit too! I got her the round knitting looms (cheater knitting) for Christmas because some lady in Michaels on Black Friday told me how great they. I LOVE that Annie’s teacher is starting a club. How awesome. Yea for teachers who go the extra mile!
Tricia-Meg: First, I’m glad that you were able to get your car running again! Second, I can totally relate to the pajama problem. I’ve been letting my take-the-kid-to-school clothing routine slide for awhile now. MY excuse is that I’m sick and combing my hair just takes energy I don’t currently have, but honestly I’m just lazy. However, yesterday was really icy here and, though I couldn’t work up the energy for a shower, I did get completely dressed because I could just PICTURE MYSELF sliding off the road, wearing my incredibly old and ugly pjs and bad hair! I even managed to wear a bra and I was incredibly proud of myself! 🙂 Clearly, I have a problem…
Angela-Ohmygosh, you’ve got to tell me where you got your slippers. (But of course, they probably don’t come in size 11 and/or don’t work well for women w large calves, so never mind…)
I don’t even go to the bathroom without my cell phone, much less actually LEAVE THE HOUSE w/out it. But I do leave in my pajamas sometimes. 🙂
BTW, have you been watching Parenthood lately? Thoughts? And do you watch Revenge? Soooo good.
Hope your Wednesday is better than your Tuesday was. (My kids would reject scrambled eggs, too. Well, two of them would. The third would probably eat them, but, alas, he’s allergic. Naturally.)
we have been planning this day for months. we knew it would probably be cold but i was so optimistic that we'd have decent weather for this race. we didn't. we were the Merry Mamas. but we were pretty FORCED in our merriness.
at least we looked cute! they postponed the race 30 minutes because of lightening but then we had to do it. i REALLY didn't want to. but we did. the WHOLE 4 miles.
3d player software-Such a lovely pictures which you share above. I like it so much. Every thing looking so beautiful. I impressed by that. It such a great photos.
carissa... brown eyed fox-ohhhh… saw that yall did it… and forgot to come by…
whooooop!
way to go merry mamas!
you rocked it meg… you did it!
Andrea Smith-Awww, so proud! My friends and I do the EXACT same thing! We run so we can hang out at Starbucks (usually for longer than our actual run takes). We celebrated for hours after we ran our first 2 miles without stopping! I do not lie. And look where we’ve come — we’ve run 2 marathons together. Keep it up Meg! There’s a bond between running friends that’s incredibly special. Exercise is just a side effect:)
Tina I -Congrats! Aren’t running friends THE BEST!?!
Brooke -So fun! Socks from target? I have the polka dot version. All races stink at the start but feel so good once you get going! Way to go!! You rock! I am recovering from baby, trying to gear up for a 5k…
Stephanie-Way to go, Mamas! Way to persevere! Can I skip the run and go straight to the Starbucks and chocolate covered strawberries?! 🙂 Great job – keep up the great work!
I love your blog. Lifts me up every day. Thanks!
Tracy Fisher -you are really an inspiration! i need to get moving!!!
tracy
crystalbeutler-Sooo cool that you did that!!!!!! You go girl!
My friend is trying to talk me into doing a 1/2 iron man with her.
Me. That’s hilarious.
But I might work out with her while she does the swimming and biking parts.
That sounds fun.
Miss you friend, hope all is well with you!!
Deb Meyers -woo-hoo!!! great job!
deb meyers
Jen Brandt -You go, Merry Mamas!!!! Congratulations!
Last weekend my girls and I did a sequel to your 2010 Christmas crafts! We made the handprint ornaments and handprint Christmas trees, along with some other crafts. Thank you for the awesome ideas. We had a great time making them!
Kacey-You are awesome!!! Every time I read about your running adventures, I think, “I need to start running!” Thanks for the motivation. 🙂
Brandy-Congrats! That is a great accomplishment. I hope to run in a marathon some day. Aren’t you glad you had friends there to push you through it when you didn’t want to do it? I’m glad you did!! 🙂
Brandy @ Brandy Designs
Cecilia Madden-Congrats on the race! Love your spirit…and those outfits of course 🙂
Jennifer-that’s awesome and I too love the outfits!! 🙂 I raced this past weekend too 🙂
Jenna@CallHerHappy-I’m so jealous! I miss racing. Maybe I need to get back into this. The baby is 4 mos old now. No more excuses!
Jenna
callherhappy.com
Alicia @ La Famille-yeah meg!!! i love races…well, sorta…it’s very nerveracking at the start, but such a great feeling afterward! way to go!!
se7en-Amazing, Well done you… you are such an inspiration!!!
Shannon-Awesome! love the socks! my hubby and i went to a hockey game for his work outing. he volunteered us to compete on the ice at half-time, against his other co-worker couples! we had to race on tiny little round sleds around the ice!!! we tied for 1st and 2nd! it was crrrrazy!
Kristin S-Well done Meg! That’s a great accomplishment and ya’ll did look really cute.
You look great BTW.
Did I just type “BTW”? I’m 40 years old. That’s so not OK.
Shannon R -I’m doing a Jingle Bell run Saturday here in Birmingham, AL. It’s supposed to be the coldest day in about three weeks. I’m sure not as bad as Kansas though. Great job on the run!
April R -Wowza! In the cold rain?! Awesome 🙂 Well done ladies!
Holly-awesome! We have been working none stop on projects at home this week!
Katie-yay! great job! your socks are the picture of cuteness, too. i’m glad that you spoiled yourself afterwards – you deserved it!
Emily -You look fantastic!! Congrats on the race!!!
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-Meg, you are awesome to run in the rain and for four miles 🙂 My weekend included a day out with the girls and it was amazing and it didn’t include any running (thank goodness)!
Heidi Jo the Artist-That’s awesome! I used to wear crazy stocks when I was in cross country in high school and my final gift from the team was another pair of weird/crazy socks.
My brother runs in races all the time and is encouraging me to run in one/some. So my goal is sometime in the new year, because I think it will push me more. I ordered my first pair of running shoes in a long time and they sent me the wrong size. 🙁 So hopefully will get right size soon and I will start running more than once a week.
Happy running!
TinaM.-way to go! i hope that was a peppermint mocha in that cup 🙂
Kathi -We decorated the tree and the house. Great job running 4 miles! I can run 4 miles in my dreams. haha! You are very inspirational.
amy jupin-y’all ARE crazy!
and motivated, and inspiring, and awesome, and MERRY!
so proud of you!
and it made me so happy to see jana too!
hi jana! (me doing a goofy wave)
xoxo.
Katy @ Live Laugh Love Craft-Whoa, that DOES look like an amazing day! You all had such adorable attire. 🙂 Pat on the back for running four miles!!
Kerry-Go Merry Mama’s! you should be so proud of yourselves 🙂 So glad you had an awesome day – you totally deserved it, and MAN you all looked cute 🙂
i saw this at francesca's but their website doesn't have it… i found it on amazon though. i thought spray painting it hot pink or yellow….or turquoise….CUTE!
i am home again from my getaway with the mister. ahhhhh. it is so nice to just be off the clock for awhile. together. Soooooooo NICE! my friend hooked me up with a college girl that has watched her kids to watch my kids. it was perfect.
i encourage you GREATLY to think outside the box when looking for a way to get away. ask everybody in your church…. ask your friends…. ask your neighbors…. ask your co workers "Who watches your kids? Do you know anyone that would be good to stay with my kids" and you will find someone. when i was a young lady of the college age….i would have LOVED to be asked to watch kids for an entire weekend. it would have ranked higher than a party or a date or anything. so i know they are out there waiting for you to call.
GO FOR IT.
you need it. HE needs it.
it is too much fun!!
ps….we went to see Tower Heist and i really and truly DID like it. we had super low expectations and we really were surprised. it was a good movie!
not perfect…. but not bad….some language but it is PG 13. i am saying it's for grown ups.
and i liked it.
🙂

Naomi-Heck yes, I’m a university student and I would LOVE to watch kids for a weekend. Anyone in England needing a weekend away, give me a call!

Jen-I’ve been thinking we need to get away “just us” more often, thanks for the inspiration! And I may or may not have the exact pink outfit you posted…the sweater socks are way too comfy 🙂
shauna-you are cute.
i want to go shopping with you.
i saw a similar bird house deal at cost plus world market!
do you have one close by?
lc -I made a LOT of money in college watching peoples kids during their getaways. So much fun.
and I think I saw you out this weekend, but saying “hi, I read your blog” sounded super creepy. So I kept walking 🙂
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-I don’t think the all pink is too much. Looks just like what I’ve been wearing all weekend 🙂
Alicia @ La Famille-glad you were able to get away…we just moved to NC and know NObody so i feel like we’ll never go on a date again! let alone a weekend away 🙁 we’ll get there tho…and thanks for the nifty list of things i need now 🙂
Kate-I love any think made by knock knock. they have the best journals, notepads, grocery lists, ANYTHING. I just LOVE them.
Jenna@CallHerHappy-I received the wine sock monkey as a gift this year! We are using it to hold a very special bottle of wine that my brother bought us for our wedding. It has to age ten years before being drank, so we have to wait until our 10th anniversary. He is such a thoughtful bro!

tiffany gardner-I rocked a leisure outfit like that at walmart this weekend..but it was blue and some 20 something guy said….”seriously…this that a blue suede suit”…funny..I said…No! It is velour…thank you! And I am a mom…and even had one of my children with me. She said…boy mom…he must have liked your outfit. So glad she doesn’t know sarcasm yet! 🙂
D-I just ordered that dress for my 11 year old, don’t you just love it? I love the bird cage thing too but I don’t NEED it so I won’t be ordering it:(
Holly-sounds like you had a great weekend! It is so important to spend time together without the kids around!
Jess -Wow. Slang Flashcards and Real Life Report Cards are TOO cute.
Cindy -Okay, so the slang flash cards are a riot. We ordered some as a “guy exchange gift” one year. They have great options on http://www.ucommongoods.com (best website ever, by the way) for other slang cards. They stole the show at the whole family get-together that Christmas. They’re hilarious!!!
CarrieBeth-i want that wine monkey!
and i’m glad you and your hubby had fun! y’all deserve it!
Rebekah-I love that birdcage. Am thinking about buying it for myself and using as a place for jewelry. And I’d totally paint it like you mentioned!
happygirl-I am not going to the mall this year. I love the cute things, but this year it is mostly homemade and service. Am I a fuddy duddy? I’m just trying something different this year. LOVE the wine monkey, though. 🙂
Meaghan -I am 25 and I still babysit! My favorite was babysitting 3 year old twins while their (single) mom was away for a week on a business trip. Super fun! There are websites that you can use to find reliable sitters and see what other parents have to say about them. Am I allowed to put in a plug? Sittercity(.com) and Care(.com) are the two I am registered on. I encourage parents to check it out because I agree, every couple needs some personal time!
brooke-girl…you get that pink leisure suite and ROCK IT!
Alycia-those slang flash cards are hilarious! can you imagine giving that to your grandparents hehe 🙂
sarah-I would have LOVED to do that in college! Lets be honest, I am 25 and would love to do that now! Too bad I’m in Tulsa and not Kansas!!
there were 13 cars waiting to get into the mcdonalds drive thru this morning? not even in the drive thru part yet…. who waits that long for a mcdonalds breakfast?
i counted that when i was out running. ran 4 miles straight today! WHOOP WHOOP! loving this healthy running thing so much!!!
************************************************
basketball has begun. i like it. i like it A LOT.
************************************************
i am going to take my kids to see jack & jill today. i am not looking forward to it. there are only so many bathroom jokes i can take….
but who wants to bet $20 that i still cry at that movie?!!
************************************************
i am behind (like ALWAYS!) so i don't have photos but i wanted to remind you about Operation Christmas Child.
i am going with my kids to pick out some goodies and we are going to pack our boxes this weekend.
check out the website HERE to find a drop off location near you. they are everywhere!
you only have another week or so. it's worth it!!! make it happen!
it was FUN wasn't it?! i loved it. it feels good to focus on others. to try and see what God sees when He looks at people around us. to show His love to those around us. 🙂
it's super cool.
************************************************
well….. i jumped on the erin condren bandwagon. what a happy place to be!
Nike Free Run-I think you probably live close to where I lived. My daughter played basketball every summer in Hesston. We moved from Kansas to Indiana Dec. 2009 and I miss it. I enjoy your blog! blessings
Elizabeth -Meg, I would just like to say thank you for your Christ centered blog…My family and I have been able to really reach out and have become a giving family because of all your ideas of giving. The 7 of us shopped this past weekend and packed our shoe boxes for OCC. It was such a blessing reading the letters my kids included in their boxes. Thank you for helping me raise caring children.
Kacey-I love my Erin Condren planner! It makes me so happy to look at all the rainbow colors.
Debbie-I think you probably live close to where I lived. My daughter played basketball every summer in Hesston. We moved from Kansas to Indiana Dec. 2009 and I miss it. I enjoy your blog! blessings
jimaie-It seems like everyone has an Erin Condren planner these days! I must admit, they’re awfully pretty!
I don’t think I have ever seen you & your husband’s names next to each other before- Meg & Craig, that’s kind of adorable 🙂
erin -We are doing the Operation Christmas Child for my daughters brownie troop. Such a great project! Also LOVING that planner. I’m addicted to planners and organizers.
Kate @ Songs Kate Sang-I am sooo with you on the bandwagon. I got my planner today. I am so, so, so excited! Now, i Have to use it – lol.
Ashlyn@Pinecone-I’m with you on Jack and Jill…I don’t want to see those movies, but if I do, I will cry easily as some random sweet moment. My kids will look at me – “mom are you crying??!” they can’t believe what a sap I am.
I love your planner – apparently I am the last to know about them. 😉
Lori Austin -I love your random posts – they are the best! 🙂
OCC is such a terrific organization. I wish we could afford to
participate in every worthwhile organization – not possible. We have decided to take toy/craft donations to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital each time our daughter has an appt. She has been a patient there many times and has benefited from toy/craft donations every time. I love knowing that our donations might bring a smile to a child’s face that could be facing tough medical issues. Makes my heart smile. I pray one day we will be able to donate to more than one source though. Eventually….
Kimberlee Jost-Yay for Erin Condren in your mailbox!!!!!
Now you can write all of Scott’s games down in it.
😉
amber-Thanks to you, we’ve done OCC for the past 2 years. It has become an amazing kick off to Christmas tradition for our family. And, it’s about others. My 4 year old is super into it this year & it makes me so happy. So, thank you for posting about it again & again.
Southern Gal-Four miles? Woohoo! I haven’t run in a month because of a stupid cough/cold that won’t let me go. I’m getting back out there though.
OCC is so near and dear to our hearts. We volunteer at the warehouse and my daughter gave out boxes while serving in Botswana her summer before her senior year in high school. It’s a lovely way to share God’s word with children and their families.
Melissa -How funny, we’re doing our Operation Christmas Child boxes tomorrow too! Have a great time!
Jan -So happy that you mentioned OCC shoeboxes! They are one of my favorite parts about Christmas.. I go each year to Boone, NC and help process the boxes. My brother has worked for Samaritan’s Purse for 30 years, so we have been packing shoeboxes for a long time… Would love to go overseas one year to help distribute them. So glad that you and your family support such a great cause! Thanks for the shout-out!
Michelle Gallimore-I saw a commercial where MCdonalds is giving away free coffee for the whole month of November, could be why? Anyway, I love your blog, your honesty, your real, we could be friends. congratulations on the 4 miles it’s kindof a big deal I’ve done it only twice Iam new to running but never thought in my whole life I would actually “like” it. Now, I crave it, sick isn’t it? Scales not moving but I also like to eat…I blog about food, I cook…a lot, it’s okay, my heart will be healthy 🙂 thanks for all the inspiration.
lisa-I love my Erin Condren planner, too! Happy weekend! 🙂
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-Okay, gotta say, I want to see Jack and Jill….love potty humor. Just being honest 🙂
Andrea T -jumped on the e condren bandwagon myself. i almost hugged the fed ex man. i smile everytime i look at it!!!
Jenna@CallHerHappy-We are excited for bball over here too. Right now we are watching the MSU/N. Carolina game. Go green!

Liesl -Are you finding that running has helped you lose some weight? I think I’m similar to you in size and am hoping to see some results from the running I started this week, along with some better eating habits.
Julie L. -YES!! My Erin Condren planner came in the mail today too and I’m seriously scared to start writing in it because I love it so much.
jackie grandy-Love that calendar! I am definitely putting that on my Christmas wish list 🙂
Leah-I just got my Erin Condren planner the other day and I can’t stop staring at it. I love it and wonder where it’s been my entire life.
Kelly-McDonald’s breakfast grosses me out. I remember eating there once when I was little and it was horrible.
I have the same Erin Condren planner. I love it! That it’s so cute is a bonus! 🙂
Heather -I often think, when I see the line at McD’s “Wouldn’t it have been faster to have breakfast at home?”
Elizabeth-I just told my sons that you couldn’t pay me to see that movie. How about a million dollars? they asked. I said, well maybe then.
Have fun! 🙂
Jennifer-your run = awesome!! 🙂
I’m always amazed at the long lines for McD’s too!
Happy Friday!
tiffany gardner-wow…four miles…you go! my calendar is on its way? wonder if my life will get more organized?? have a fun weekend!
TinaM.-I’m going to McDonalds on my way to a Penn State game tomorrow. I hope people don’t judge me because I still like, actually love Penn State. Anyway.. to brighter subjects, I can’t wait to see the Muppets !!
Mindy W-Yes, I did do the Happy Day Projects and I loved it!
Yes, we are doing the shoe boxes again. And I loved that you posted your fillings because my kids said I did a lame job last year and you are way cooler than I.
No, I’m not going to see Jack and Jill because I’m betting I saw all the “funny” parts in the commercials. But you have fun. 🙂
Jodi @ The Un-Soccermom Blog-I just got my Erin Condren Month-at-a-glance Notebook TODAY!! So much happy going on, I can barely contain myself.
Sabrina-I think McDonalds was doing something special for Veteran’s Day today??
I LOVE my erin condren planner!!! Aren’t they awesome!!!
Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails-Yes, we’re doing the Happy Day projects but since Ive had a super crazy week we’re getting caught up on them today, since we have the day off.
We’ve always done the Operation Chrismtas Child boxes but again, with going back to teaching this year, I got behind. We are sending packages to a soldier as our project. The kids collected items all week in school and we’re sending the boxes out tomorrow.
And Erin Condren…I ordered the deal on PlumDistrict but havent heard anything yet. Hoping it comes soon. Love the one you chose.
Have a lovely weekend!
Nicole -I read your blog pretty much daily and I’m fairly certain you go to the same church as I do. I never comment…just not my thing but…I noticed in your basketball pictures that your son plays for the Swathers and that he plays with my first group of students I ever taught. (It’s been over 4 years ago…those kiddos were in 4th grade then!) I’m also one of the girl’s 7th and 8th grade coaches this year! I guess I didn’t realize your kids go there! It’s a great school district!
happygirl-I can’t wait to pack our shoeboxes. Such a fun and thoughtful Christmas project. Our family is packing a box as a Christmas gift to each of us. So, each of us pack 2 boxes. It’s fun to shop and pack and play Christmas music. 🙂
Seriously Sassy Mama-Have fun at the movies. I am taking the fam when The muppets come out.

feeling: overwhelmed. SO MUCH going on and SO MUCH needs to get done and SO MANY decisions to be made…. i am not complaining. it's just at a point where i am feeling a little C R AaaaaA Z Y .
missing: chicago jenny :)
thankful: good friends…. i love/need to talk stuff out with people & my friends are so good at doing that with me and for me.
weather: perfect day. 80 degrees. sunny. fall colors out all my windows!
praying: for Pam leaving soon for Africa.
needing: to go for a run today.
thinking: about what to make for dinner…something with chicken…. probably this.
dreaming: about craft weekend and where God wants to take it…. who will come… what we'll make… and eat. it's all very dreamy for sure.
loving: my new cottage style magazine (guilty pleasure from the grocery store)
קידום אתרי אינטרנט-Great post always with new topic! It is very informative and useful to me. I like to read it. I never found such a great and amazing post.
Melly Bee -Must be something in the stars…. I having that kind of week too 🙂
Karen Gerstenberger-I drove to Portland (OR) with my blogging friend, Laura (Live Happy) to hear a Franciscan monk (Richard Rohr) speaking about his new book, “Falling Upward,” and about “Sacred Balance.” We visited friends, ate well, learned a lot, talked about faith & family & everything in between. It was my first time away from home without my husband in about 2 or 3 years…and it was wonderful to have “girlfriend time.” Thank you for asking, Meg!
amber-i saw the glitter paint too! my husband said don’t you have that?
I was like umm hello it’s GLITTER!!! duh.
he didnt get it.
oh well I will go back without him and purchase =)
jennibell-What a fun post! Doing right now: avoiding the few things that need to be done before we can leave the house (in an hour!) to start the day. Already showered, make-up on & hair done, and dressed, though, so just need to realize that all of my favorite posts will be here later for me to read. Time to go get the brownies I made last night cut and packaged, put my cooking co-op lesson in order, and finish my bible study lesson. . .yep, I’m leaving to go do all that! Have a great day Meg. Keep praying about where God is taking you and your blog and your craft weekends. . .what an awesome opportunity He is giving you right now!!
leonieke -wow, you are having a good day! i just spend mine cleaning the house and cooking, and will be spending this afternoon driving the kids from a to b….. it’s not exciting but i love my house, especially when it’s all tidy and clean!
but have to say; watching a movie sounds a lot better 🙂
linda lou -forgot to tell you never..never pick up a glass or candle with a lip on it 🙁 its sad!
today I looked at keurig coffee makers (at body, bath & beyond) love that store ….talk about$$$$$$$ the are way out of price for one cup of coffee. today i did buy the :donut house collection “chocolate glazed donut” can’t wait to try it. what i’m doing since i’m cheap for now is put the coffee into my coffee filter and it makes 4 good cups of coffee and i’m happy for now 🙂 🙂
blessings,
linda lou
linda lou -i have watched “its complicated” so many times i can repeat it line by line……….i love that movie even though happy and sad but life 🙂 blessings,
linda lou
Ashley -I did morning bible study, just put the baby down for nap, made three dozen cookies for my eldest’s Halloween party tomorrow, watching him play on pbskids, contemplating how to deal with the rest of the afternoon, needing a new hairstyle, and thought of you when I saw rainbow ice cubes in sprite on Pinterest.
Oh, the days of being a mom…
I LOVE the Converse! I may have to seek some out for winter! ( I have the same color ballerina flats.)
tiffany gardner-struggling. today…i am struggling. my kids are in public school in okc. it is a nice neighborhood school. sure…i don’t “get” all the teachers…but they continue to go. God seems to just be putting on my heart to homeschool…which scares me to death. i know what the “truth” is…if He asks you to do something..He will equip you to do it. the demands of my very young children, the rigorous schedule, the sadness of my daughter every night before she goes to bed worrying about school the next day, the “yuck” my son is learning in 2nd grade. anyway…just praying. today…struggling and praying. thanks for always making me feel better.
Lizz -Meg, I love the fabric that you get and Sarah’s choices are great…
How to you decide what to choose and do you order online? I need help on ordering fabric online, since where I live in Fargo, ND doesn’t have any trendy great fabric shops!
Adventuresofexpaterin.wordpress.com-I am your biggest fan in Lithuania. I’m a midwestern gal too and you have no idea how much it warms my heart (and eases my homesickness) taking a peek into daily family life in Kansas. Also, I just ordered those shoes. My mother in law is coming for Thanksgiving and I am praying she can find room in her suitcase!
Kerry-i’m skipping through blogland, hiding from the kids under my duvet in bed… I should be doing washing.. or something ‘mommy-ish’….
I LOVE WHAT YOU’RE WEARING!!! need those shoes.
mwah xx
Jill Franklin-OH! LOVE those silver converse! Love-Love-Love!
Lorie Yoder-Thinking I’d rather be chatting at your house with you, than being at work right now. Thinking I’d also like to get those items from the store, and go home and craft. Right NOW!
Lisa -Looks like a pretty good day! You typing “moo” after Dress Barn…it will never get old. I laugh every time!
JustMommer -I am sitting on my chaise.
Playing on my computer.
Putting off starting laundry.
Worrying about my Hermione who is at the vet.
I will be driving to Fayetteville.
Meeting my daughter.
Signing a contract to reserve wedding tents.
Delivering a tutu for my grand-dog Luna.
Life is weird some days.
casey -80 degrees?!?! WHAT!!! I live in Maine and it was like 40 yesterday! NOT FAIR.
And loved the outfit by the way. I’m a stay at home mom, so my fashion sense these days is completely out with window! I feel like all I have in my closet these days is jeans and old t-shirts. Some how I have to convince the husband that I need to go clothes shopping! Suggestions?
Terrie G-It’s 2:25 am…and I’m reading your blog, watching a youtube video on how to swaddle a newborn while my daughter nurses…daddy sleeps and I get to burp and rock him to sleep. Great reason to be sleep deprived!! Wish blogs were around when my kids were little…maybe I would survive the nighttime feedings! 🙂
Jenny Joy-I’m sitting here on my laptop at 1:16 am, trying to get sleepy. My husband is in the next room, snoring like a freight train. My children are sleeping. The dog is curled up next to me with his head buried in my butt. And I can’t stop thinking about how tired I’m going to be tomorrow if I don’t get some rest. COME ON, Mr. Sandman! Bring me a dream!
Flower Patch Farmgirl-I wore THE SAME ruffly T today, only mine was stripes, so it wasn’t really THE SAME. Maybe just the same.
But was yours $4???
Jacci-lol – i’m listening to The Sing Off with my husband on his laptop and sitting beside him reading on *my* laptop. guess what i’m reading… i’m reading your archives! and i’m thinking that we’re really similar in a lot of ways – 5 kids, believers, working hard a thappy marriages, polka dots, hormonees … but different in quite a few, too. for one, i mean, i’m willingly listening to the SING off… on tv. i don’t mix playdoh, either. oh, and i love canteloupe. now i’m going to bed, though. good night!
Kimberlee Jost-Watching Frasier in bed.
Listening to Talia snore between Bruce and me.
Drinking water.
Feeling sore…3 miles on the treadmill today.
Missing Phood this week.
Craving pumpkin cheesecake.
Jennifer-I am a Playstation 3 widow this evening so I am reading blogs!
Sara Torbett-I am smiling at everyone’s comments and your post-make me feel so much more “normal” 🙂 about to put my baby to sleep, need to do cleaning chores. Booooooooo. Would rather sew or craft 🙂
Astrid -Just came home from a super fun trunk and treat put on by a school group (we dressed our car trunk to look like a giant monster mouth with teeth and a huge tongue, so much fun!!!)
Not getting stressed about our impending move to china. Nope, no stress at all. LoL!
I gotta get me a cute ruffly shirt. 🙂
Life would be boring without challenges!
tara-I’m laying in bed with two of my three kids watching 19 kids and counting.
We had dinner tonight with a couple from the church..love them.
that’s all. it’s the end of the day for me, and I’m wasting time on the computer….and the only thing I’d RATHER be doing is watching It’s Complicated. HILARIOUS movie. YOU WILL LAUGH…get ready.
Jenna@CallHerHappy-eating the best recipes I have ever put together! and looking at my super cute baby 🙂
Jenna

Darcie L.-We painted pumpkins today per your previous post. So entertaining with my oldest being only 3 years old! She wore one of my old t-shirts and it touched the floor. By far, hers was my favorite of all the pumpkins. My “symmetrical and artistic” painting style had nothing on her creativity.:-)
Nichole-Eating rice after not feeling well today and wishing it was fall out here. We don’t get fall, we get summer and we get winter.
happygirl-Drinking myself into a stupor after working to find hotel rooms for 350 students displaced from their dorm rooms because of mold. I’m exhausted. 🙁
karen -watching x-factor…and pinning 🙂 love your shoes
Susan-Reading your blog! Wondering if I should buy another one of those Starbuck’s double wall glasses…I have broken 3 in the past 2 years…3! I am terrible at not screwing the lids on tight enough and then of course grabbing it from the top and onto the tile floor they go!
Ashlyn@Pinecone-I bought the Cottage Style too. I always feel a little (a lot) guilty spending $10 on a magazine – but when I see it I get so excited, I HAVE to buy it.
My life/house is a disorganized mess too. I am still unpacking and looking for things even though we moved 2 months ago. Tonight I found my stapler and ipod…it was actually pretty exciting 🙂 xo
ann-I love that movie – especially where Meryle Streep has to admit to what she likes a lot of OMGoodness
Right now I am reading your blog which I love to do, I’m eating Maltesers and watching Anderson, considering a house move and thinking longingly of my bed
Seriously Sassy Mama-Sitting on a stool with my computer on the counter reading your blog. Just finished dishes, and really need to empty the dryer. Finished my questionnaire for my MD appt tomorrow. Really need to start my knitting for gifts, not to mention my other homemade gifts. Really want to buy some new clothes and boots, but will buy for the kids first. I could write a toilet paper list.
Jessica Johnson-100% procrastinating. avoiding my bickering children. avoiding making halloween costumes for bickering children. texting husband to pick up dinner instead of cooking. because i’m SOOOO busy. reading blogs. 😉
julia-Today I made pennants for my daughter’s birthday x-trav-a-ganza.
Plus driving and folding laundry and making dinner and no exercise.
Heather -right now i am…..
watching: Listening to KLove and reading your blog in my 15 minutes of downtime before I start dinner
eating: nada
drinking: nada
wearing: yoga capris, champion tee, champion socks
avoiding: thinking about what I have to do tomorrow
feeling: grateful to my hubby for doing the ballet rush so I could get groceries and dinner alone
missing: my sis
thankful: the two hours I got to chat with my bestie over Starbucks this afternoon
weather: cloudy now, but was gorgeous until about two hours ago
praying: for revelation. God is stirring in our hearts – it feels BIG – we don’t know what it is yet
needing: a hot bath – sore muscles from workout yesterday
thinking: about how to appreciate my hubby this evening…..
dreaming: about vacation in the spring. Hopefully heading to the Gulf Coast for a week.
loving: being in my house COMPLETELY alone (homeschooling mom here – this is a RARITY)
Wendy-… typing with sticky fingers bc I am eating rice krispy treats that aren’t set yet 🙂
Kimberly dial -Right now I’m reading over my favorite blogs while watching last night’s episode of RHOBH that I DVR’d … put on a pot of decaf, lit a candle … trying to relax … feeling a bit overwhelmed by the day’s events … trusting in the Lord … (I didn’t have to cook dinner ’cause the hubs & I ate out this evening! YAY!)
Courtney Henson-I just got the same magazine the other day..it is chock full of eye candy and inspiration! I was just searching a friend’s blog for a really inspirational do something good type of project that I want to replicate…but then I saw your new post and thought I’d hop over here!
lisa willis-Wishing I could come to a craft weekend (but I’m pregnant- with our 3rd…and we are pinching pennies right now). Interested in doing a craft weekend in Seattle?
Looking at the sunny (!) Seattle day…from inside during nap time. Thinking about going for a walk later.
Procrastinating my bsf and womens group studies until…later.
Looking around my messy house thinking about all the things I need to pick up before our small group comes over tonight, but I just don’t have the energy to actually pick anything up.
…that’s it.
Malia-Hey there Meg, wanted to “introduce” myself since I have been reading your blog for at least a month or two now. I have a small handful of blogs that I read on my iPad while I do the elliptical and I found yours one day and it stuck. Reading your blog and some others are my main source of motivation for getting on the machine! But that is why I haven’t been able to comment at all yet. Please know that I admire your honesty, faith, photography, humor, craftiness, family and zest for life. Thank you for sharing pieces of it with me all in the way in Hawaii Nei. There is so much goodness to explore where you are. (Like I so wish we had anything even remotely close to that antique shop I saw you post on once when scrolling through but that’s another story.) Anyways, thanks again, good luck with your to do list and know that I am reading. mahalo, malia
shannon-Love that movie and watched it yesterday while my girls napped and even crazier is I am wearing the exact same sweater from Francesca’s except mine is blue and white!! How cool are we 😉
Becki G.-Obsessively watching my new photography website’s stat counter!
yikes!
Tracy Fisher -I love that you wear sparkle tennies. Gotta get me some of those! Could be a fun craft project, you know. I just wanted to say I relate on the overwhelmed feeling. I just got a call from my friend who told me she saw my daughter (when picking up hers from after school activity). Oh my goodness… I forgot to get her! She said she would. But how humiliating I had to tell her that. Thought you might appreciate that today! 🙂
Tracy Fisher
Jen Christians-Trying to sell my home and get ready to move to Colorado! Trying not to be the Devil mother everytime my kids touch something! And praying for God to open doors that humans cannot. BIG life choices going on here… Maybe someone on here wants to buy my house… it’s in KAnsas…
PLUGGING http://www.ourandoverhome.blogspot.com
PLEASE
SOMEONE
I really don’t want to be a single mom to four for too long. Okay, enough whining,
I am heading out the door to Cross Country practice to watch the CUTEST little “Flying Angels” (that is their team name)Do what they do best..
That is all.
Laura Phelps-cooking turkey burgers in my VERY CLEAN HOUSE because life smacked me down HARD this week and when I get super stressed and sad I CLEAN….and I have candles lit and kids are outside with neighbors playing and I am feeling very on top of things for the first time in a very long time and I am looking forward to doing some lesson planning for my religion class tomorrow and watching Parenthood with my husband who I will be married to for 15 years on Thursday 🙂
and reading blogs while dinner…burns!
Lori -I am waiting for my son to come home from his behind-the-wheel lesson. Making a TON of food to take to my Dad since my mom is in the hospital after hip-replacement surgery. Well, you did ask 🙂
Georgia-Im just writing my blog post about my Wedding and Honeymoon, and took a well needed break to read your happy colourful post 🙂
Leah-I’m reading your blog instead of doing actual work at my job. This is way more fun.
shannon -I have also avoided cleaning my messy disorganized house all day and I will probably repeat tomorrow. We have been on the go every single day, all day for 2 weeks now and I’m tired of it! I was actually able to scrapbook 1 page today….was hoping for lots more but the little one did not cooperate! We have been to the park and we are about to head out for soccer, then home for dinner and baths and bed!
LOVE the outfit….where did the striped sweater come from?
Michelle Rotner-love this idea.
i do something very similar called “wednesday senses.”
trying to savor the hear and now.
fun twist using pictures.
your weather looks heavenly.
i didn't mean to miss a day of blogging….it just got away from me. i left at 7 AM for the school bus and didn't stop till bedtime. it was a good and busy day.
although i prefer the lazy hanging out kind of days much better.
wednesday was indeed Sonic Day. whoop!
DYING over the rainbow quilt that arrived in my mailbox from a super special california friend that lives way WAY too far away. i almost cried when i opened the box. if she had been here i would've. i felt so loved. don't you love that kind of moment? when you FEEL super loved even when you are all alone in your messy kitchen.
i ran as soon as the kids went on the bus. i won't keep telling you if i run or not but it was such a good one! i never stopped to walk!!! i ran THE WHOLE 3.5 miles! big day for me. 😀 and i will share my playlist for yesterday….meaning i kept hitting >> till i got a song i liked. Miracle Drug – U2 Rehab – Amy Winehouse Beautiful Day – U2 La Ti Da – Marcia Ball Creepin' In – Nora jones/Dolly Parton Yahweh – U2 Jackson – Walk the Line Soundtrack….so Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon Read My Mind – Killers Long Way Around – Dixie Chicks (i looooove that song….LOVE) Home – Edward Sharp &the Magnetic Zeros Hey Mama – Mat Kearney Late in the Evening – Paul Simon
i treated myself to a french manicure. am i the only person who has terrible luck with this? it was not a great manicure… and i was there f.o.r.e.v.e.r. i know these are not big life problems i have…i know….but i was annoyed.
then i got an email that could be the best email EVER from someone awesome. and my mood changed. 🙂 i hope i get to tell you about it. but not yet.
i went to kimberlee's house and had a meeting for craft weekend!!! i will tell you about that soon. VERY SOON.
i drove straight to the bus stop from kimberlee's. on the drive home after school annie asked "can we PLEEEEEEEEASE do a craft when we get home?"
i said "YES!"
i sent her outside for step one. she collected acorns from the driveway and counted them. 84!! and we didn't make it much farther….the plan is to make THESE. but painting them was harder and messier than i thought so we will need a longer craft time to finish.
we ate a super fast dinner of pasta and sauce. nothing else.
and i cried. because i love it all. i love childbirth…i love people realizing about autism….i love seeing crisis in family and how they portray it. I know it's a show. and they are actors. i know this. but i just love how they do it. i like good tv and movies. a lot. 🙂
then i was OUT like a light. and my kids are off school today so i got to sleep in!!!!
today….we clean. and make a craft. and chill.
happy friday.
making THIS for dinner. pumpkin waffle recipe soon to come. :)
Salma-sandhya Aaji – Dear Ruta & Marc,Great photos and great pearonslities. Ayanna is growing so cute. I know Sameer& Deepa have tough competions to keep the attention on them with two little wonders around the place! Your friend has done great job of capturing all good moments. Enjoyed every single picture. Also was impressed that you are able to fold mandi’ and take Ayanna on the lap. That was my favourite way of putting Zoya to sleep. I miss her! Grand parents are so happy to witness family extensions. I know they had to wait for a month. Enjoy the function on 5th. All the best
Dawn W.-Oooh, my goodness! The rainbow quilt. I confess. I ended up loving them so much I bought THREE. I bought a full for my bed & a twin as a throw, but when I went back one day there was one more full one for sale… I like sales. Especially when I’m in love with the blanket. o.0
jeana-Hey Meg, I wanted to chime in and say thanks for your appreciation in people realizing autism. Living with this in our home, it melts my heart when our boy has someone around that truly cares and is interested in him. I cry every week when I watch that show. It’s my favorite EVER. AND your quilt is beautiful, what a nice friend you have. It’s nice to be on someones’ mind and heart. Have a blessed week!
Debbie Hargadon -Thanks for the inspiration for dinner tonight! My brain is dead and I need make ahead treats due to kid’s sports – like you.
Great nail salons are really hard to find — we are lucky in California as there are SO SO many — but it always amazes me that there are not that many who do a truly great job, where polish lasts 1 week or longer, they work on problem nails, etc.
Loved the 4 kids with the HUGE dark eyes!
Hannah-love the craft….we have about 3782 acorns on our deck…so guess what we can do today? 🙂
parenthood is my fave also…i cried during the baby scene…but laughed my tail off at his hip-hop outfit! ha! hilarious!
i so hope to come to your craft weekend one year…because i just learned to sew! whoot! 🙂
happy monday!
Heather G.-YAY for your happy quilt! I’ve never seen Parenthood….seems like a show I’d probably love, but now I think I’m too behind to get caught up.
Alicia-Long Way Around is my favourite song ever! I even taught myself the violin part by ear because I love it so much! LOVE the Dixie Chicks!
Donna -So, I have to know………are those your nails or acrylics? I removed my acrylics after many years and am trying the Shellac route. Is your french white tip painted on?
Love your blog, by the way. Wish I had half of your creativity!
JustMommer -Parenthood – Best show ever!!!!!!!
Kat -Love your blog and love Parenthood. My fav show atm.
We haven’t gotten up to the birth yet here in Aus though. I am looking forward to that!!
Thanks for sharing a bit of your every day-ness. I adore that about your blog.
Kate-1) I love the tile on your floor from the previous post – it’s the same as we have in our bath.
2) Your new rainbow quilt is the quilt my daughter has in her bedroom. It’s so cheerful!
Selina-That is a fabulous day. I think you are allowed to skip a day of posting when you come back with such a great post!
I adore your rainbow blanket and if you were closer I may attempt to steal it! LOl
Lori -Parenthood makes me cry every week. Seems so real to me. My other favorite show is Modern Family. Makes me laugh so hard!
Good job with the running…keep up the good work!
Lisa-I bought that rainbow quilt for my daughter at college last year, we loved it so much we used it again this year, it held up really well. I love it so much, when I visit her I can’t stop looking at it, lol! Parenthood is my absolute FAVORITE show on TV right now, Tuesday’s episode was sooooo good, I watched it again w/ my daughter on Thurs. She and I both love it, and she is only 15, she’s kind of an “old soul” I think 🙂 Have a greaet weekend!
Jolie-I just wanted to say what a great inspiration you are – I love how comfortable and confident you are in your own skin, and I must say (from someone who struggles with self esteem and body confidence) visiting your blog is always uplifting and aspirational for me (just add life coach to your list of careers, lol!) Ditto on the running (woohoo on no walking!!!) – and I love seeing your playlists – if it helps for you to write it down here, no complaints from me!!
And oh my but that quilt is making me drool!!!
Megan B -I also really love Parenthood. I am not a crier at all (at ALL), but gosh darn it, that show makes me tear up a little. It is just a great, great show. Every time my husband and I watch it, I’m like, “Is that it? It’s over? Why can’t this come on every night!?” haha Such a great show.
Liz-Things I love: Parenthood. Crying over Parenthood. The photo of your kids enjoying cones in the rear view mirror. The scrumptious quilt. Great friends. Your creativity. Your humor. Your soft new pj bottoms. Your invitation to get some and be your twin. Your blog. Thank you for brightening your corner of the world, and mine.
Mel -Totally get the tv show thing…these days we become so entwined with the characters they feel like friends, and you like , miss them when the season is over.
Have been thinking about this the last few weeks, ( just finished watching Season 1 of Treme, Davis, i miss you 🙁 )
Why do we feel so close to tv characters? Is it us, or are script writers becoming better us giving us what we want/need emotionally?
Have been pondering this, any ideas?
michelle-you are pure awesomeness! seriously.
in so many ways. we have GOT TO meet in person one of these days! congrats on the 3.5 miles. xoxo-m
Janie -I love Parenthood…it is my most favorite show. So real and these days hard to find something that is so good for the soul. I have to tell you about Nail Envy for your nails. It is the best stuff and you will have long nails in no time. It is worth the price.
Love your posts…just have to hear about your days.
Kate @ Songs Kate Sang-LOL ~ i am not good at the manicure either. After my last one, I had ugly, ugly hangnails for two weeks. What is WITH that?
Kari-Those pumpkins are super cute. My boys LOVE pumpkin muffins so pumpkin waffles I must try. Hope we get to hear about the email sometime – have a fabulous weekend!!
Kiersten -That playlist is flippin awesome!!! I have already loaded it up and am ready to run tomorrow! Thanks for the inspiration!
Lisa-I have recently stumbled on to your blog and I love it! You make me smile. I enjoy your details like your run or the music you listened to, the crafting and the photography.
I have recently fallen behind in my blogging but now realize that I miss it so especially while visiting your blog.
Thank you I am off to update and will be back to enjoy your daily updates!
Meredith@count it all joy-What a productive day Meg! I love that song, Jackson…I remember when INXS did a version of it back in the early 90’s and I bought it on a….cassingle! Do you remember those? A cassette tape, but a short one. Remembering made me laugh.
Haven’t watched Parenthood yet, but a girlfriend of mine with a son with Asperger’s finds it very inspiring and encouraging. Must make a note to watch it. Hope all is well with you and your lovely ones. Meredy xo
Meg B.-hmmm…realizing autism….I hope it’s well done and showcases the incredible gifts of autistic children, maybe it will inspire some to reach out to the often isolated families of autistic children? My son is a an incredible gift that many, many won’t take the time to get to know.
amy jupin-posts like this are why i love this blog of yours so much.
because i cry watching parenthood too,
because happy mail is the best,
because i can’t believe how much annie looks like talby now,
because i am so proud of you for sticking with the running–it’s so hard!,
because i LOVE the pic of the rearview mirror,
because i hate manicures,
because i would give anything to sit in kimberlee’s house with y’all and have a cup of coffee right now.
Tracy Fisher -I am hooked on Parenthood now. Thanks! I had watched it once or twice flipping through the channels… but the other night it just grabbed me. Powerful. I know what you mean. Love, love, love the Sonic photo of your kids through the rear view mirror. Ok, I am much too sentimental now.
Tracy Fisher
christine-I started watching Parenthood this month on Netflix. Only because of you 🙂 And, oh my. I just love it. Love! I cry so much during that show. Good tears, sad tears, this is life and it is so amazingly beautiful tears. I actually didn’t realize that the show was still on until the other night when I saw a preview for the new episode that you mentioned. I seriously squealed out loud! Cause…hello! A baby! EEK! And, more importantly cause I get to keep on watching this fun show.
Have fun with your little punkins 🙂 We made those a couple years ago and totally enjoyed it!
Astrid -I just love reading your posts. They make me HAPPY! Right now I’m in the middle of moving our family to China for three years. My head is spinning and i don’t know what i should be doing. Stress????
Anyway, be sure to bake those acorns (google for oven temp and time…not sure on either) to kill off any bugs living in the seeds. Then you won’t have a nasty surprise!
I am so impressed that you jogged 3.5 miles! I totally need to do that! It would help with me keeping my sanity. Or what is left of it anyway.
LOL! Have a great weekend.
Ami -Parenthood and PMS equals a lot of deep breaths to prevent crying. But then she had the baby and that’s all she wrote. Such a fabulous show.
And I have to think as fabulously crafty as you are, you can totally do your own french manicure. I do mine and save trips to the nail spa for my toes.
Kimberlee Jost-I have no idea what we’re eating tonight.
Can I come to your house? 😉
Lindsay -I’m not even a parent, but I adore Parenthood the show! I truly have wanted a family like that forever. Never going to happen- mine is crazy, but I love the Bravermans. 🙂
Stefanie -So glad to discover I’m not the only one that cries at Parenthood every week!
Mindy Harris-love these posts that are just like having a chit chat with you. you have such pretty hands and your nails look good. pretty wedding ring, too.
also, i am a parenthood diehard.
i go to the gym every night now (thanks for inspiring me) so i hafto watch it a day or 2 after i work out, but, it just builds up the suspense.
i love watching childbirths, too. except the baby they picked looked 3 months old…but i guess it’s probably hard to find newborns in hollywood…they are all with their nannys. 🙂
xoxo I SO WANT TO COME TO CRAFT WEEKEND!
happygirl-Such an adorable craft. And 3.5 miles running the WHOLE time. AWESOME. No wonder you look so good. I’m glad you have friends that know JUST what you love. 🙂
Kristi-glad I wasn’t the only one crying through parenthood. loved it.
and I love that quilt.
and I am so impressed with your run! good job.
Julie-Despite not being your pajama twin, I am your quilt twin! Its so happy.
Jen -Hi, Meg! I love your blog. It is happy and colorful and it is clear your heart is in everything you do. You inspire me!
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about my own children (ages 6 and 2) and chores. You wrote that you were going to clean on their day off from school. I’m curious to hear more about that — how do chores/cleaning/etc. work in your house?
Have a great day!
~Jen from Missouri
amber-Okay…have you seen the comedian Anjelah Johnson talking about manicures? If not, here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsWrY77o77o
It cracks me up, & seeing as how you didn’t enjoy yours so much, you could get a good laugh about it. 🙂
Your kids are too cute & Annie did look like Talby in that picture!
Oh! And last thing…someone told you about worms in acorns. I read on the MADE blog last fall that you can bake acorns to kill the worms. Can’t remember how long or what temperature though…helpful, aren’t I? Have a great weekend!!
nora -I think I’ve been reading your blog for forever now b/c I did a double-take when I realized that was Annie – not Talby – in the photos.
They picked the best name for the new baby on Parenthood in my humble opinion 🙂
emily anderson-when will the next craft weekend be?! i want to go so bad!
and i totally feel ya on parenthood. ugh, gets me everytime.
okay, that’s all 🙂
love.
Laura -Thanks for the playlists. I’m always trying to find some new music, and we seem to have similar tastes. Glad I’m not the only one who hits >>> repeatedly!
amanda fuentes -2 things: 1, your husband was suggested as a friend on my Facebook….how random is that?! Or perhaps we know someone in common?! And 2, be aware that acorns are full of worms! I’ve been displaying them in a mason jar and every few days have to dump them out and remove the tiny worms that fall to the bottom…..ick!
Kim-you got the rainbow quilt! ack-ity-ack-ack! that is a whole lotta happy that headed your way! 🙂 it makes me smile just seeing a glimpse of it.
you are a running rockstar. still working on that whole running without stopping thing.
kind of a problem that i’m running a (totally untrained for) half marathon this weekend. YIKES 🙂
you are my running hero today!
Meredith Salmon -Love this craft. I have been looking for acorns that size forever. Our tree has baby marble size acorns. I wanted to make owl ornaments for my sorority family tree for Christmas. I have even been looking in stores for them, but think they need to be recycled not bought. If I sent you paid packaging could Annie pick 20 or so for me? The pumpkins are adorable.
Terri Christian -I cried at Parenthood too……
Kerry-hey meg – your dinner looks Scrummy!!
I didnt know acorns had worms in them…hmm…*rushes off to throw acorns out the window* but that craft looks uber cool!
3.5 miles, wowza…. I cant even walk that far 🙁 maybe i need an ipod filled with awesome music…xxx
Mae-Awesome craft idea 🙂
I won’t have kids for quite a while but reading your craft posts makes me want them sooner. Haha.
Have you thought about spray-painting the acorns? It might be faster.
Heather -I’m totally stoked about your 3.5 mile run! I have been exercising regularly for the last 6 years and only last summer began to try to run. This fall I have made it to running 2.5-3 mile routes, but I can only run about 1.5 miles without having to slow to a walk for a bit. I am wondering, though, my whole area I run is hilly – and by hilly I mean like large hills – the kind it’s even hard to bike up. I’d LOVE to try running on a flat surface….I bet I could go much farther! But hey – this isn’t my blog – it’s yours and you totally rocked that run!
Lori Bowring Michaud-Umm, Meg, do you know that most acorns contain a grub? Yep, they do. I collected a hand full last week because I was going to use them to decorate for fall. My 21 year old said, “Gross, why did you bring those in? There are worms inside them.” I said, “Yeah, right.” The next morning, I had 3 small, whitish grubs curled up on my dining room table and one on my dining room rug. Well, let me tell you there was lots of swearing, gagging and cleaning up. You might want to leave them outside until the grubs have worked their way out. There’s usually a hole in the acorn where they’ve eaten their way out.
Kori-How funny was Adam after walking out of the store??!? 😀
Nancy-I watched Parenthood this week too. I totally bawled too. I might have been the mass amount of pain killers the hospital gave me, or the hysterectomy induced mood swings or the music they always seem choose for their episodes (which I always love!. But, I love that show. NO matter what state of mind I am in. Happy weekend to you.
Holly-One of my girls has that quilt in her room. It is my favorite! I think it is from Target but I could be wrong. I am still only on season 2 of parenthood. I keep hearing about the new episodes and it is killing me to not watch but it is so hard to find time to catch up! Have a great weekend!
Dana @ Bungalow'56-Megan, I’m in love with your kids in the rear view mirror shot. Honestly I would blow it up and frame it. It’s such a perfect slice of life. Love the burst of colour in the top right too.
Dana
Krista -Can’t get over how Annie is starting to look like a little Talby in some pictures! Those little faces in the rear-view mirror after Sonic are cute cute cute! Have a great weekend!
seriouslysassymama-I LOVE reading your blog. I miss the Dixie Chicks. I love hearing about your running. It makes me want to get up and talk about my exercising. Your days sound like mine minus the great emails, and sports. I am in Texas Rangers mode, so that is all I am watching right now. Well that and Forks over Knives. Have a great weekend.
Jen -I LOVE LOVE LOVE Parenthood. Even my hubby LOVES it. I would even consider moving to California if I could live IN the Parenthood set. It’s so good!!!
And, I am planning to do those acorn pumpkins too. I am going to spray paint mine orange though. And then put the faces on with Sharpies?? Is that cheating or just smart?? HAHA
Have a lovely lovely Kansas weekend!
sarah w.-3.5 miles is so super! You should be so proud.
I love Parenthood.
I cry at every episode. It’s such a good show. So real.
…but this past episode, oh man.
Kenzie said ‘OH she has a baby!’ and I said yes, your brother will be here soon, and he’ll be a bit like that. And then I just lost it.
meghan-this is my second comment this week. woot.
jackson is the best running song ever. johnny cash comes up a lot on my shuffle. one of my go to songs when running is jim croce’s leroy brown. the beat is perfect for my pace.
parenthood is my favorite show. when christina had her baby i burst in to tears and blurted out that i wasn’t done having babies and it was still in my heart to have one more. my husband was like a deer in the headlights…i heard crickets…:) that show moves me something fierce.
shelly-Keep sharing your running journey!!! You are inspiring 🙂 I’m headed to my second day at the gym…focused, gonna keep on movin down this road!
Love Parenthood…I.Always.Bawl!!!
At least bad mani’s can be fixed with polish remover….much better than a bad haircut!
Chelsea in MO -Wow, I am impressed, 3.5 miles is no joke! Good job! Keep going!
I LOVE Parenthood, oh man did this weeks show get to me too. I cried twice or maybe even three times, but I’m pregnant so that’s okay, you know, I cry at everything these days : ) . I second how you explained what draws you to the show. It is AWESOME! The “thank you” from Christina to Amber and the Crosby situation with Christina, Adam’s clothes! This episode tied up a lot from last week that I felt like was hanging out there. It was SO good to watch.
Have a great Friday and Weekend! – Chelsea
Kirsten J-I get the nail thing – seems like everytime I find someone I like, 2 months later they’re gone. The gal I go to now has been there for over a year. I tip her BIG, hoping she’ll stay. And I get the sunup until sundown thing (and beyond). And Parenthood. So cute with Haddie getting Max to apologize. And I admit even though it was stupid, I laughed at Adam’s outfit. 😛
michelle-Oh girl, I am so jealous of your running. I’ve never been able to distance run and want to SO bad. I’ve always imagined it would be a great way to clear my mind. 🙂
And that quilt? I have TWO of those! One in a full size & one in a twin size. I bought them at Target 2 years ago on clearance with the hope of one day using them for my two littlest girls bedroom! Just did that bedroom last month & FINALLY got to use that quilt! I love it! And it’s such a happy quilt! Your friend is good people for sending it to you!
Enjoy your day of cleaning & chilling …. those are the best. 🙂
Ashlyn@Pinecone-You had a crazy long day…not much to say as I really need to get to the grocery store (but no I just had to look at your post) but I LOVE LOVE Jackson with Reese and Joaquin. We used to listen to it all the time in the car. Thats it…happy friday! Ashlyn
Jenna@CallHerHappy-pumpkin waffles! mmmmmm!
Also, those acorns are so cute!
And, if I would have seen that quilt somewhere, I would have totally though of you 🙂
Jenna
callherhappy.com
Jessica -just a little FYI… I made that crockpot italian chicken last night and it was DELISH!!!!
Carrie -Thanks for sharing your day. If it encourages you to run, then you should post about it as often as you like. Great job going the full 3.5 miles with no walking. I have tried to start running so many times and never stick with it. I give you credit for sticking to it. I remember the post about your first 5K.
I stopped going for manicures and pedicures. I had too many bad pedicure experiences. So, it seems you are not alone. And while, yes there are bigger problems in the world, it is disappointing to look forward to something and not have a good experience.
Have a great weekend – enjoy the day with your kids.
PS – We have our nieces next weekend and we are going to do one of your crafts. I think the ornament with the little pom pom balls. The girls are 11 and 13 and I remember you mentioning that even Lauren liked that craft so we are going to give it a shot.
Thanks for the inspiration

Sharla - Very cool! I think I am the dork. I have never heard of mpix! Definitely checking it out
betsy - You look SO cute!
elz - I love mpix. I’ll make sure I continue to use them now that I “know” someone in their ads!
Southern Gal - I love Mpix. Thanks to them we were able to get my daughter’s 16×20 bridal portrait mounted on matboard with lustre coating and put it in a frame from Michael’s all for $51! How neat that you’re a spokesperson for them.

Phew! No pressure on a new craft today! LOL!!
I’m making an ornament wreath from my son-in-laws Grandma’s ornaments.
