PW…she rocked.

my friend kim emailed me a few weeks ago and asked "want to go meet PW?"
to which i responded "uh…YES!!!"
we picked a date…arranged our babysitters…she scoped out oklahoma city for shopping…and we did it!

we were way giddy about meeting THE pioneer woman.

we were shopping for clothes and craig called my cell.
c: hi…are you having fun?  where are you?
m: trying on clothes…yes having so much fun.
c: what time is pioneer woman?
m: 6:30…what time is it now?
c: 5:15.  you aren't there already!!?!  are you kidding?  you drove all the way there and you aren't waiting in line yet?
m:  good point….we'll go now.

craig saved the day.

it was across the street at full circle books.  (very quaint bookstore that i would love to spend time in)
we arrived at 5:30 and we were at least #100?  or higher.
what dorks that we didn't go sooner!
IMG_1192
that is a sign behind me…i am not wearing a green and yellow bonnet…i promise.
(by the way…how cute is kim?! so cute!)

we got comfy in line and there we stood…and stood…and stood.
we had nothing to do but talk, good thing i like talking!
we met the ladies in line with us.
IMG_1206

mickie on the left and amy on the right…both from oklahoma…but kansas natives.

IMG_1193
this was the line behind us…going on a long long LONG way…

finally at 8:40
yes…3 hours later…we made it to Ree.

it was worth it.

IMG_1234
she was just as she appears on her blog…and that was just what i wanted to know.
kind eyes.
super personable.
easy to talk to.
beautiful voice.
just like i thought.

IMG_1246

and i didn't even cry!
i was worried that i might…i just never can gauge my emotions…i can't control my crying!
so thankfully i didn't.

she posted her OKC book signing today.
those girls (with the leopard cardigan) were right behind us!
you should have heard them squeal when Marlboro Man appeared in the hall way!
hysterical.

her family was there…kids, sister & baby, MM and more.
i enjoyed seeing that her boys did exactly what my boys' would've.

IMG_1252

it was a great night.
kim…thank you for being so spontaneous and willing to go.
i learned so many cool things about you yesterday.

and i don't know what to cook first!

if you go to see her in your area…
1. get there early.
(go early & grab a stack of books, a coffee and plant yourself in front of her table.)
we heard the first people were there at 4:00…for a 6:30 signing.
2. bring snacks in your purse.
3. don't forget your camera.
4. wear comfy shoes….seriously.
5. get a babysitter.  i was glad to not be one of the moms holding babies all that time.

I LOVE PIONEER WOMAN…could you tell?

IMG_1268
the news team (watch it here) set up right beside us to get their shot.
they started filming the long line starting at us…so we aren't shown.
i dared kim to jump right out at the camera man as he was walking for his shot of the crowd.
she said no.
the girl they interviewed was just in front of us.
i'm glad they didn't chose me…"I loooooove pioneer woman…i just LOOOOVVVVE her…i really love her"
and then i would stare into the camera like a deer in headlights.

then i would start crying.

we got home from Oklahoma at 1:00 AM-ish.
i am still beaming.
i have a pioneer woman glow all about me.

i can't wait to try my first recipe.

Kvsieuxs - MOSCOW – 1000’s inhabitants converged with Moscow in Saturday for those following enormous antigovernment test in a four weeks,[url=http://www.coachbag-jp.com/%5Dコーチ%5B/url%5D an early on success designed for activists having difficulties in order to forge any first set of of one’s right into a political push perfect for demanding Vladimir VERSUS. Putin’s vitality. The primary these types of display,[url=http://www.coachbag-jp.com/%5Dcoach%5B/url%5D a couple weeks backwards, ended up being unheard of for Mr. Putin’s tip, together with there have been explanations Saturday’s turnout could have been lower – in particular, wintry weather getaways and also attack in bad wintry.
Rather, people applyed all of day in to a canyon produced by substantial authorities architecture, and also police force get a group within 30, 000, beyond they will known with 12. 10. Coordinators believed it was eventually nearer to 120, 000. Several hours eventually, as the protesters distributed, they will chanted, incrementally: β€œWe will come just as before! Most people will come once again! ”
If for example the move gets it has the concentration, it will modify a span of the actual presidential election inside Next month, when ever Mr. Putin ideas to supply his or her extend since the country’s dominating number a great ultimate 18 years. Others voters were definitely furious within the habits about this month’s parliamentary election, and you will be roused all over again just by Mr. Putin’s campaigning. Also, preserving impetus is mostly a enormous issue, as well as the preliminary giddy feeling has now hard straight into an issue more severe.
The criminal author Boris Akunin, peering away by wire-rimmed a pair of glasses mainly because he or she treated this public originating from a position, reported demonstrators will need to prepare on their own for your long haul.
β€œWe are going to have a greuling time, ” Mr. Akunin stated. β€œBut it’s an appealing year or so. It is all of our calendar year. ”
The actual protests currently have rattled typically the Kremlin, which includes not likely come across extensive politics weight for any times. Mr. Putin at first sneered within the demonstrators, just saying time as soon as to begin with rally how the light frills they already have put into practice being mark was similar to limp condoms, and they participated mainly since they had been settled by just overseas substances wanting to challenge Paris.
However is normally very clear who federal elites tend to be acquiring protesters’ issues like a notification and also struggling in order to venture down an increasingly perilous conflict. In Sunday, regarding to begin with, couple of high-level amounts connected to all the Kremlin happen to be along at the test.
Past Fund Minister Aleksei L. Kudrin, an associate of Mr. Putin’s essential group designed for beyond two decades, took that level expressing this service for the purpose of a number of the protesters’ entails: all the termination of the top of your head for the Core Selection Payment, Vladimir B. Churov; the actual dissolution for Parliament and also different elections; and differences in the selection program code permitting 100 % free competitiveness.
Mr. Kudrin released a story in Sunday throughout Kommersant, a new legitimate daily journal, jotting a large number of laborers of think associations were involved in that routines.
β€œIt appears to me personally people had to assert here: β€˜Respected frontrunners! Many of us attended at this point regarding the very first time, perfectly consciously and even altogether on his own. We certainly have one thing to get rid of, and also were for balance, ’ ” Mr. Kudrin submitted. β€œBut all the breach of your family recommendations – in addition to this is the manner most people bring the info approximately muscle mass fast falsifications plus violations regarding record patterns – this really excessive. ”
This billionaire Mikhail DEBORAH. Prokhorov, who’s explained she will operate alongside Mr. Putin, seemed to be at the same time inside bunch, however he couldn’t produce a spiel. She or he showed up wthout using safety measures detail, stooping on occasion so that you can respond to concerns and even cause with regard to snap shots by using young women.
Both equally Mr. Kudrin and also Mr. Prokhorov will be viewed skeptically by way of a area of that protesters, what person worry about individuals work for endeavours through the Kremlin to help weaken or even break down a powerful fresh protest electorate.
β€œSorry, what precisely rapport really does Kudrin ought to democratic motion? ” has written Vladimir Varfolomeyev, a particular editor from the broadcast train station Ekho Moskvy, via Facebook. β€œHe’s your bureaucrat who have consistently served any strategy regarding 10 quite a few years. ” Once Mr. Kudrin took all the stage, the person seemed to be booed simply by many with the audience and even cheered by simply many people.
However most of demonstrators interviewed mentioned people were expecting and avoid a fabulous thrashing uprising, many placed the prospect installing with the environment just like a notification. Aleksei Navalny, typically the blogger whose enormous attraction collection those protests during activity, ended up being greeted by having a loud roar in the public, which were definitely pestering to find your man just for more than a while.
β€œI will see we now have adequate people right so that you can grab that Kremlin, ” explained Mr. Navalny, 35, exactly who heard the sooner demonstration about the the airwaves at the same time pouring 15 days with gaol. β€œWe can be a beautiful make all of which in no way do it now. However should most of these baddies and robbers check out to take cheating all of us, when they keep going telling dependes as well as piracy via usa, you normally takes the things belongs to help usa with this individual hands and wrists. ”.

Nonihinddex - Anyone and everyone should own at least whole LED flashlight. More than anyone, even. You unequivocally need one-liner in every household in crate of a blackout. How would you be navigating your fall down about the power fight or square out of the house to find out if it’s reasonable your house facing this climax or if your neighbors are in the condition too? I from a confederate who methodical keeps one LED flashlight per room in the house. That includes the bedrooms, living flat, cookhouse, storeroom, and unchanging the bathrooms! I be convinced of she has perhaps 10 of such an LED flashlight. Another superior pour down the drain case of an LED flashlight is while you’re traveling. You should always transport an LED flashlight with you in case your hostelry or wherever you are encounters a blackout. What is more, shining the dazzling LED flashlight at one’s desire be clever to pick up people’s attention to criticize to your rescue, wherever you are (unless you’re under d, at which your LED flashlight to all intents won’t be functioning).
So why an LED flashlight and not inseparable of those ordinary torchlights? Fount, lawful like how the transportation lights these days don’t reach faulty as much as in the old times, so purposefulness the lifespan of your LED flashlight. It is known to pattern you spirit longer than the flashlights of the past.
I bought the on DealtoWorld.com, where I regularly do some online shopping. DealtoWorld.com carries scads gadgets and tools that produce everyday elasticity much easier. It foolproof beats booming everywhere the marts and just discovering things at random and buying them about on impulse. At least while I’m doing online shopping at DealtoWorld.com, I can in a wink inspection on the product and the power of it, and even deliver assign to reviews of it in the forefront I make that buying decision. It steady makes me feel like I’m shopping technique smarter than once! Stable my preserve is gleeful because of me that I don’t straight rat on as a service to clothes, but be informed how to buy such usable tools mistaken the internet! It’s technique more convenient, and you don’t have to be super savvy to recognize how to do it. After buying this LED flashlight, I regular bought some birthday gifts instead of friends. The gifts are mostly functional things that they can avail oneself of, and I also bought another LED flashlight an eye to my mom who quiet uses candles during a power outage.
The LED flashlight I bought from [url=http://www.dealtoworld.com/%5DDealtoWorld.com%5B/url%5D allows me to determine from three modes. There’s expensive, little, and strobe. Lofty is for the purpose when I need mountains of daybreak, like during a blackout, for the treatment of instance. Switching it to squat enables me to save batteries or when I don’t call too much light-bulb, like when I need to descry the gas meter, on instance. Strobe is in place of when I constraint some rescuer’s notoriety or to disorient an thief or wild animal.
Decent form month I was stuck in a jammed elevator and stripling was I glad to beget my trusty LED flashlight with me so I didn’t feel so scared. As you can catch sight of from the pictures, the LED flashlight produces a somewhat intense slight, to torch up the region when you most necessary it.

Amber - I was watched PW on The Bonnie Hunt Show last week, so cute. I was able to meet my favorite author a few weeks ago (stood in line for hours to meet Diana Gabaldon) and it sounds so lame, but that moment is on the list next to WEDDING and GIVING BIRTH.

lora - You are SO living THE LIFE!

lora - You are SO living THE life!

susie whyte - oh, man. i think i laughed through that ENTIRE post. ha ha. glad you had so much fun.

Lee Ann - When is she coming to Washington? πŸ™‚
Seriously!!! That is the coolest thing! Honestly though, I’d reather meet YOU!!!! So if you come to the PNW (pacific northwest), you let me know! I’ll drive hours and stay up til 1am to see you anytime πŸ™‚ I’m serious!

griswold fun - Thanks for sharing the pictures and the tips for standing in line! Having to wait a month before the Dallas stop!

Vera - This made me SO giddy!!! I’m meeting her a week from Monday and I can’t wait – thanks for the tips. You look so adorable!

Mother Runner - Meg! That looked fun. I’m jealous. ‘Nuf said.

Tiffany - I am so excited to know she’s the same in person. She’s amazing and I have a girl crush on her!! LOVE HER!!

kat - How fun! Wish she was coming to my neck of the woods! Seriously, I am sure many, many people would like to meet you too! Glad you had a fun time!!! I loved your comment about the green and yellow bonnet, because I had to look twice and thought, only you could pull off a green and yellow bonnet and make it look cool.

Trish - yes i cry at almost anything… the weirdest things make me cry and the things you think would make me cry don’t…
how do you know where the PW is going next? i’m curious!

kristi rediske - Sounds like you had a really great day-The Pioneer woman does sound special. My daughter and a friend went to Tulsa and saw her this week-they said she was really neat. She spoke first before the book signing so that was neat-they waited about 4 hours to get their books signed but they had seats so it wasn’t to bad. I ordered her book from wal-mart(it was cheaper to order it) and mine should be here any day-can’t wait-wish mine was signed but thats ok. Have a great week and have fun cooking from the book.

misty - that is so awesome! I didn’t know who PW was until your blog, but I just looked at her site and I enjoyed reading it! I saw that she did a signing in Tulsa literally 10 miles (if that far) from my house. I may have to pick up this cookbook today because I have been trying to cook one new thing each sunday after church. thanks for sharing this!

kelli - verrrry cool megan! so glad craig saved the day!

Liz - And there was me thinking you looked so sweet in your bonnet!

Courtney - She’s coming to. Austin on 12/3 I have yet to find anyone to drive the 1.5 hours north and stand in line forever with me. I may have to do it solo but OMGosh it’d be so worth it! Glad you had fun and she was exactly what you expected.

danyele @ a thorn among roses - how much fun! oh, i just wanted to go and jump in line with you while reading! i love that you guys got to meet her…and that her boy wasn’t perfect! love that…and are you sure you don’t have a green halo?

Kelly - Fun! I would totally stand in that line to meet her. I highly doubt she’s coming all the way to Boise though. πŸ™‚ Did she call MM by his real name by chance?

Carisa - Yes that Kimberlee IS cute. And her make-up looked GREAT in every picture. I’d take good make-up over a leopard print cardigan every day. I’m sure PW noticed that too! Glad you had a great time.

Ashlee Archibald - I’m so jealous!! even in all the pictures, she looks so humble! I would of def. cried.. but I’m a crier. And I think that would of made her cry and that would of been cute πŸ™‚ Maybe she’ll come to seattle one day so I can get a book signed πŸ™‚

Lori - I know exactly how you feel about PW. I was going to ask for her cookbook for Christmas, but my gosh I can’t wait that long! Glad you got to meet her. I don’t think VA was on her book tour, but I will check again. I am feeling some reflected PW glow from you!

se7en - Oh my goodness – this is so exciting!!! Wow….sometimes I wish we lived on a different continent! I will have to get her book I so feel like I know her, just from watching her cute little punks grow up!!! We went to book signing this week a local celebrity chef and lets just say things are done on a much smaller scale out here in Africa!!! But my kids got to climb on their hero “outdoor adventure” chef and get their cook book signed – so on a smaller scale we are just as happy to be alive as you are… I will have to blog our joy later in the week as some of us are far too busy trying out recipes on our fire in the back garden!!!

Lisa Liddell - She is super famous in the states or what????

Keri ~ Forever Folding Laundry - Yay for Pioneer Woman!!! So exciting. My book came in the mail yesterday. I want to make EVERYTHING. I bought a copy for my mom for Christmas and ended up giving it to her today. I couldn’t help myself. Post pics of what you make!

flea market style

have you missed your favorite magazines since they practically ALL went out of business?

i HAVE.
i miss Cottage Living, Country Home and Home Companion…to name a few.
my mail box is a sad place these days. (except when chargers arrive…and surprise necklaces!!)

well i am happy happy happy to see people trying it again.
even happier when i "know" the people running it! (in blogland and through emails)

i am all about flea market style.
i can't wait to see what they come up with.
linda….matthewheatherki…IT IS GOING TO ROCK!

Mock_thumb[15]

you can read their blog for now until print day.

i hope someday they will call me and say "meg…can you take us on a junking trip through kansas?"
to which i will answer "ummmmm…..YES!!!"
then they will say "can we stay at your house? could you make us baked french toast?"
again…."YES!!!"

i would be all. over. that.
do you hear me linda and heather?  let's do it!
bring Ki and Matthew with you too.
i promise i will change out of my pajamas even…and give waffle a bath before you come.

the first magazine hasn't come out quite yet…but soon.
and i will be getting it THAT DAY!
it's fun supporting my "friends".

go leave them a comment today ok?

Heather Richter - Can you do the shopping trip before I move out of Kansas this summer? (military spouse). Just sayin’ I’d love to know the places to go! You’d rock the magazine world, too. Take care, Heather R.

Heather Bullard - Well, I think I will just have to take you up on your offer. Packing my bags and heading to Kansas! Thanks so much for the open invitation and the shout out for our magazine! Smiles, H

Laura Phelps - I flippin’ love LInda, and I am excited too!!!!!!!!!!!
And just so ya know…I would love to have french toast in your home and go flea marketing in Kansas…ya know…should ya ever ask me to..I would so totally say yes…and I dont have a magazine to publish you in or anything…but I can bring you cake…
think about it…
I know, I know…hard to say no, right?

matthew mead - This is Matthew Mead… we will be fighting over who goes to Kansas to see you and go junking… I’ll cut the straws myself before we draw. Thanks for the mention. Matthew

Carisa - You can be sure if Ki is in your house, I will just “happen” to be in the neighborhood as well.

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - I miss my magazines too. How dare they just leave us high and dry??

Grace Matthews - This is my kind of magazine…even the poor need to decorate πŸ™‚

Chiot's Run - My mailbox has been a sad place as well, and NO I don’t want MORE magazine to replace Country Home, they’re nothing alike!!!!
Thanks for the recomendation!

mom - You can bring them all to Lawrence and I’ll feed them too! Then we’ll go to all the fun places here! Would love that.

Cate O'Malley - I’m very sad about some of my favorite magazines folding too, particularly Cottage Living and Domino. And this week, Cookie and Gourmet. Love them all!

Kathy - Looks like a great blog….I miss magazines!

Heather - I love magazines, probably a little too much. So, I can’t wait for their blog to be in print. I’m going to read it while relaxing in bed, just like the good ol’ days. I miss you Cottage Living!
I guess I could try reading my favorite mags online while relaxing in bed with my computer, but I’m pretty sure it just wouldn’t be the same.

susie whyte - i loved country home!! i will miss their Christmas edition this year. Can’t wait for this mag…LOVE Ki!!!

jody - will do!
thanks, meg.
jody

Miranda - GASP! Thank you for sharing! Am subscribing right. now.

Dina - IIII KKKNNNOOOWWWW! I’m going to have to be put on meds when/ if (hopefully not…let’s all say a little prayer..) Country Living ever goes…aaahhhhgggg!
Sooo excited for Flea Market Style:-)
Thanks for letting us know.

mary - thanks for the heads up meg!

kristi rediske - I do miss all those magazines-I wish they would come back. I will check out the new magazine-i love flea markets and junking too.

chris - Ok first you then me next , don’t they want to come to Canada’s oldest outdoor market , they can stay with me , they should make their rounds right !
Chris

your cool friend Cheryl - I’m still mourning the loss of Country Home. Their replacement of BH&G is just not the same…

Ashley Ann - Can I pretend to be publishing a magazine and be hooked up with a junk trip through Kansas with you…and that french toast? I’ll even wash Waffle. You don’t even have to change out of pjs – I’ll wear mine too!

Melanie - Very pretty pictures. I can’t wait to look at it. I love me some magazines. I subscribe to a lot. I would be ashamed to tell you how many. I just made the baked french toast and it was wonderful. I will check out their blog.

jennifer - So exciting! Can’t wait to see it!

Linda@ Restyled Home - Meg!! Thank you so much for helping spread the word about the magazine! I would love to hang out with you for a weekend. I bet we could fill a magazine with all the inspiration found within your home and family life!
Not long now till it hits the stands…maybe early February?!

Flower Patch Farmgirl - It’s pretty sad when the best thing that arrives is the PB catalog and National Geographic for Kids. Decorating blogs are great, but I really miss actual pages.
ps- They will totally take you up on that offer, right? How could they not??

Lora - We are SO having baked french toast this weekend. And, yes, I miss Home Companion…..I just thought they stopped getting it in my little Northern Canadian town. πŸ™‚ I’ll be checking out Flea Market Style!

DreamGirlLisa - I miss those mags too, especially Country Home and ME. Looking forward to the new magazine though. Thanks for your blog, nice to visit a “comfy place”.

Kristin - Those are the exact 3 that I miss a ton to! I will have to check out this new one. Thanks.

Katie - Speaking of baked french toast, Meg, I’m making it for the first time this weekend. It sounds so good — I can’t wait to try it! Thanks for always making your blog so fun and so very happy — your kids are beautiful and Annie makes my day. Happy almost weekend!

amy d - when is it coming back? and if you get to junk through kansas, you better take me with you! πŸ™‚ …and i really miss my country home mag!

waffle the wonder dog

he is such a funny dog.
he is a goldendoodle….i know someone is going to ask so i am telling you now.
he is so sweet and goofy and dorky.
elisalou sent him a snazzy new collar and i LOVE it.

could he BE any cuter?

IMG_3696

IMG_3703

IMG_3706
as always with elisalou you get to choose your own fabric to make it just right for YOUR dog.
i chose the red and white polka dots…it was a no brainer.
i put it on him and thought he was adorable.
craig and lauren both said seperately "why did you get him a girl collar?"
huh?
i do not agree.
it's a boy collar.
yes…it IS.

IMG_3709

IMG_3722

which one will you pick?

AND she is running a PROMO as well…if you order a dog collar between now and Oct. 31
you get a Halloween collar FREE.
waffle looks stunning in his also.

3940261557_5bdc425dbd

go pick out the one that will make your dog look as cute as mr. waffle.

talby drew this on the kitchen chalkboard yesterday….

Waceaseisor - unsedgige http://www.ryanfinnoceanracing.com/ – klonopin online Additionally, mania is often treated with Klopin until other drugs can start working.

Ensuefsen - Hello, http://facepaintinghelp.com/ – buy escitalopram online Buy cheap Lexapro (Escitalopram) without a prescription.

order viagra - Girly girl, alternatively spelled girlie girl, is a slang term for a girl or woman who chooses to dress and behave in a traditionally feminine style, such as wearing floral dresses, blouses and skirts, and talking about relationships and other activities which are associated with the traditional gender role of a girl.

Kimberlie Rose - Thanks Megan! I just ordered one of these for my Cooper and can’t wait to see it on him. Love your blog by the way.

Kat - Waffle’s new collar rocks! He is secure enough that he could wear any color collar and still rock it! Too cute. Love fabric collars on dogs, my Boxer, Fergus, wears an Amy Butler Lotus collar.

julie - at first I was agreeing… it is a bit girly. my black dog has a manly solid black collar. but then I realized. waffle is super trendy and metrosexual. rocking it. l.a. style. makes my dog look all funeral-y.

Mrs. - Looks like Talby’s Waffle needs some dinner! He is incredibly thin!

Amy - I enjoy looking at your pics of Waffle, because he is almost identical to our doodle, Max. I loved your recent post about how your cat hates the dog. We adopted Max 8 months ago on his first birthday. The cat has hated him since day one, and I’m certain she curses us daily for bringing this beast into our home. πŸ™‚ Meanwhile, Max thinks she’s the cat’s meow (bad, bad humor) and wants to play with her every chance he gets. Quite frankly, I think she would be bored to tears without him to antagonize. Doodles are fabulous dogs!

Kirsten Tangeros - Thanks for the tip. I plan on ordering 2 for my dogs…. I think Waffle looks very dapper in his collar. He kindof reminds me of Harpo at “Antique and Resale” on Harlem Ave. in Chicago. Ever been there? Giant white poodle prowls the store, wearing vintage ties….. Waffle has the same vibe.

Kwana - What a sweetie in such a cute collar. Love the pics!

Penny - Waffle, Waffle, Waffle. I just love Waffle.Yes, he should write a book. You could do a children’s book and I am sure it would sell big! Our Sophie, also a Goldendoodle, is beginnig to look like Waffle in the face and I am so happy. She is a scruffy cinnamon bunch of love. Gotta love those doodles!!

Meredith - I’ve been hankering for an elisa lou tote bag for ages (big hints to the hubby have so far gone unanswered) so I’m a wee bit perturbed that your dog is more stylish than me. But truly, who could begrudge Waffle the wonderdog anything! The red polka-dot collar is definitely boy – groovy, retro boy – but boy nonetheless. Meredith xo.

Diana - Huh? Where did they get the *girl* idea in that? Hmmm. Red is such a snazzy color. And polka dots… well, they just make the red that much more cool! You go, Waffle! *woof*
Great likeness of Waffle, Talby! You captured his cuteness and personality perfectly!

Jerri - I have said it before I just love Waffle…he is too cute!!! I think he knows it too! πŸ™‚
Cute collars!

HomageBlog - Boys can TOTALLY wear polka dots! He rocks it πŸ™‚ ~K

Christy - Love it! One of my boy dogs (have 2 yellow labs) is wearing a zebra print collar which also might be a little feminie, but he looks so cute!
I like the polka dor collar & the Halloween one is too cute! Off to check out the shop. πŸ™‚

Sue K. - waffle is soo cute! he looks just like koda did. i miss koda…love the collar and maybe talby thinks you should feed waffle more! πŸ™‚

Tanya - Sooooo cute. I had a scruffy little visitor at the pool today. He was about half the size of waffle.

CherryTreeLane - I want to hug him and just run around in my backyard playing fetch with this cutie! So sweet!

Betsy - Super cute! I’m amazed at how much my schnoodle (poodle/schnauzer), Minnie, looks like Waffle in the face. Don’t feel bad about picking the red, which I think is totally a boy collar. I have a pink collar, pink leash, pink tags and pretty much all pink things for Minnie and people still ask what HIS name is! Arg!

purejoy - thanks for the tip on the collars. i have three mini-dachshunds that all need a bit of snazzzz and so we can tell them apart!! haha.
waffle is adorableness on steroids. that dog is photo-personality!!! love him!! (and his fly collar)

Nancy-The Goat and The Kid - Red and white polka dots are not girly. I would put Rex and Charlie (our wonder dogs) in one for sure. You have to have dogs with sass, right? Everything can make a statement, even a dog collar. Way to go!

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - I’m off to check her out. Waffle is super adorable and I love his polka dots:)

Ashley - I love it! Waffle is such a photogenic dog πŸ™‚
I went to elisalou’s site to order one for my dog, but I’ve made it all the way to the Payment Info., and it hasn’t said anything about the free Halloween collar. Is there a special promo code for that?

Elisa - I personally think he looks very handsome in his polka-dot collar!
Love him!

Kacey - Love the collar! Now I’m wondering if my dog needs one… πŸ™‚

amy d - talby’s picture is cracking me up. i didn’t know (elisa lou) did collars…i must now get one for miss miley. and miley wants to know when waffle is coming over to play.
maybe this weekend?

Ruth - too cute – he always looks like such a smooth mover with the short hair! super fly, and he knows it.

Angie - WAFFLE!! I love posts that feature Waffle! Man, I heart that dog.

Rachel / cREaTe - he really truly is the cutest, most scruffalicious dog. and just the name. i wish he’d write a book – i’m sure he is full of stories. πŸ™‚ LOVE his new collar. since when was red white & blue GIRLY? he’s just patriotic.

Pineapple Princess - So SUPER DUPER cute!!

Shar - NO, he could not be any cuter. I have a brown standard poodle and also a blond standard (rescued after hurrican Ike). But, I am loving the Goldendoodle. I just love it when Waffle gets a mention in the blogs. Will check out the collars.

missye - He is adorable! And I don’t think the collar is girly. Very non-gender specific. LOL!!!
We have a 5 month old brown Standard Poodle who is a mess but such a love. I just love your Waffle stories because I can sooo relate.

Georgia - LOL love the picture !! Talby has made him so skinny! πŸ™‚
Love the Collar, im going to check the collars out as my 2 dogs need new ones which are a bit Snazzy! Loving the pictures as normal your fAB! πŸ™‚

Sarah - Too cute!! I would say that the collar is gender neutral, so I’m kind of on your side, but can see what they are saying about a hint of feminine in the collar. I personally love Waffle with his super fluffy long hair, but totally understand why you would want to keep it shorter. Do you let it grow out between cuts or do you have a length you won’t let it grow past?

Thanks *duchess*

Renee - I’m so jealous! A clean house and girlfriend time? Sounds like heaven. xoxo

Mandi - I ran across this recipe today for quesadillas and thought of you…I haven’t cooked it yet, but it sounds delicious and EASY!
Here is it:
Slowcooker Quesadillas
-Throw chicken breasts (can be frozen), can of black beans, can of corn, can of diced tomatoes, lots of cumin, and salsa seasoning (if you have it) or a splash of salsa in slowcooker in the morning. At dinner time, scoop onto tortillas, top with cheese, and put under the broiler.
I’m cooking it tomorrow…I’ll let you know how it goes!

xo

happy mail (part 2)

IMG_1948

i had a very kind email from stephanie last week.

she was sweet and full of compliments.  i clicked over to her link and saw her making salsa.

YUMMY.

i told her to send me some….and she did!

i was kidding.

but she did it anyway and it was such a treat for us.

we don't make our own salsa here so when we get the good stuff we are so happy.

THANK YOU stephanie.

it was so much fun to get salsa in the mail!

IMG_1941

then my order from uberstitch arrived.

i am LOVING the name UBERSTITCH.  you must say it with a swedish accent…like farfegnugen.

look at her packaging?!  the fabric is folded up so nicely and wrapped in a pattern.

with a map tag.

love. love. love it.

she had the fabric i have been searching for everywhere.

IMG_1944

school days handwriting.

it brings me pure joy.

it could be the best fabric EVER.

and the zebra fabric?  it's made by sis boom….another awesome site.

that jennifer paganelli is so talented.

with this fabric i am making pillows for the kitchen sitting area with blacks and whites.

the zebra print is going to recover a chair seat.

and more fabric came but this was from anna maria horner.

i just got the scraps.

that girl has some SUPER fabulous fabrics.

i would like to just sit in her studio and stare at it…for days.

IMG_1196

her branding is gorgeous.

polka dots on floral on another floral and swirly writing…be still my heart.

and this package came from patricia (an artist) from pve design.

IMG_0498

it was a care package from one mom to another.

she sent 3 pretty dresses to my girls that her daughter had outgrown and a stack of magazine articles

Heidi Jo the Artist - Oh this salsa looks soooo yummy! I eat salsa almost every single day, yup that is how much I love salsa. πŸ˜‰ I wanted to thank you so much for your happy things links besides your awesome blog of course. You always find the best links. My favorite of late is the miniature houses by Ana Serano and the small magazine. I am currently working on a project that has made me fall in love with miniatures! I have a feeling this small magazine might help me out a bit. If I get the project finished (hopefully soon!) then I will dust off the cobwebs and blog about it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Angela - Awesome!!! Speaking of mail, did you get my email where I shared a link where another blogger made your rainbow cake for her son’s 2nd birthday? I got so hungry!! πŸ™‚

Amy at The Red Chair Blog - What a visually appealing post! Pretty, pretty! Two things to share: #1. I was just–not 2 seconds ago–on the Anna Maria Horner site looking at those scrap bags before I clicked over here(insert Twilight Zone music here). #2. I love the IDEA of that school handwriting fabric, but seeing it instantly took me back to 2nd grade and my mean old teacher who constantly criticized my handwriting. Hmm.

Sarah - We must have the same “thing” about handwriting/lined paper, because that is to DIE for!!! I’ll have to get myself some.

Julia - Wow – you had a great mail day!

jennifer - There’s those polka dots I caught a glimpse of yesterday. Yeah! I love it!
And such fun packages. Loving all your color, as usual.

Ashley - Meg,
Thank YOU for sharing!

Sara Cameli - Hi Cutie, love your enthusiasm about packaging. I hear ya. Whenever I see awesome packaging it makes me soooo happy too! I am at school late for parents night, happy to have something fun to check on before the mayhem begins…

Tammy - Hooray that I don’t have to GOOGLE for great sites, I just check your site and *poof* I instantly have several others to add to my favourites and browse through over tea. Meg, hon, LOVE your posts. You rock my blogging world. πŸ˜‰

Penny - Thank you Meg. You give so much joy from your blog. I just love when I see there is a new post!! Your photography is amazing! I am glad you have had a great mail week.

adrienneK - oh such a happy post!!! that handwriting fabric is the cutest !!!!

Magchunk - Wow those are some great mail days! I recently hosted a craft supply swap on my blog, so I’m really looking forward to finding some fun packages on my doorstep soon! One of my fave blogs, Sweetie Pie Pumpkin Noodle, organized a penpal swap, so I love getting letters from my new penpal too!
Love all that fabric. I went a little nuts in the fat-quarter section of Artco the other day and I can’t even get my (mom’s) machine threaded!

Dana D @BoysMyJoys - I love all the fabrics!
We just made patchwork aprons this weekend. It made me think of some of your pillows while we were working on them!Your scraps would make a beautiful one!

By the way, this is my first comment on here but I have been keeping up with your blog for a long time now. After all this time reading your posts, admiring your handiwork, ogling your photos and stealing your ideas, I wanted to let you know that I want to be like you. Seriously.

Heather

Sarah - Awww! I love how kind people can be (even people you only know online). This world really is a beautiful place if you take the time to notice it. I’m loving the fabrics and the dresses! Too cute! I can just imagine Talby and Annie in them. The hot sauce looks great too! Everyone’s been blogging about salsa and other tomato-related things lately.

Aljolynn - Colors are the fruits of my life! So THANK YOU for bringing such color into mine. Totally envious of your packages!
I really need to learn how to sew.

donna - you need to stop posting the cute things you get…because I am one of those people who hear about something and buy it….so far I bought that cute purse that you blogged about a few months ago….and today i ordered a necklace from vintage pearl……..thank goodness i don’t sew.
