i found some pictures while purging the craft room of magazines and crap i don't need.
and i thought you'd LOVE to see what we have done in this house.
oh how far we've come.
this was our kitchen when we moved in… (looking south)
and then in the middle of the gut… 
we took out the wall (left side)and removed absolutely everything.
and now it looks like this.
before…with the wall of cabinets that was taken down… (looking east)
obviously during the remodel…wall taken down…and the day the windows were being put in.
and after.
the central spot of my home.
that is where i spend hours and hours a day! 
oh my.
do you feel like cringing? i do.

that white just makes everything so bright and cheery.
and the art museum of my kiddos…happy happy happy!

Lawrence Cooks - At first, I couldn’t believe the change. I thought it was some photo from a magazine. Seriously! It’s really awesome, Meg. You turned your kitchen from manly and crowded to serene and family friendly. Actually, that’s the same thing that I told our kitchen remodelers (Minneapolis-based). I wanted a kitchen that can relax me after a day’s work, and my wife wished for something that will remain tasteful in many years to come. Well, we got what we desired, and we have those Minneapolis kitchen remodelers to thank. This is one of the best improvements I’ve seen, Meg. Bravo!

You have kids’ artwork on the cabinet doors, Christmas cards hanging up, drawings on the chalkboard, and snacks on the island counter. It’s a REAL kitchen in a REAL house, with lots of kids, and not some fancied up space that is completely unrealistic for those of us with young children.
