christmas craft #2

IMG_4637-1

these are the supplies you will need for craft #2.
we found the styrofoam balls at walmart and the ribbon, pins and flowers at Michaels.
(but the ribbon AND pins are also at walmart)

the jar of flowers are in the scrapbook embellishment section of the craft stores.

it turned out that talby's ornament used all 100 pins.
so if you wanted more than one ornament…you'll need more pins.

IMG_4642-3
it really could not be more simple.
stick the pin through the tiny hole in the center of the flower all the way into the styrofoam ball.
and repeat.

until it's covered.

our jar of flowers had some covered in glitter too.
bonus!
IMG_4678-9
to make the hanger we just looped some ribbon and stuck a flower on the ribbon and pinned it down.

if a little white shows through that is ok….because it doesn not have to be perfect.
perfect is overrated.

it took about twenty mintues from start to finish and absolutely no mess at all.

YAY for more wells!!!!!!!!!!

Jennifer Cooper - We made this for a Keepers at Home(like a Christian Girl Scout troop Christmas craft. The cost was about $5/ornament. The pins were $3 @ Walmart and the paper flowers were $6/bottle at Michaels. I think each bottle covered about 3 balls. These were easily finished in about 20 minutes by girls ages 5-11. Thanks for a cute and fun idea. Many planned to keep them hanging up through the spring.

jennibell - Love this craft idea! Each of the kids are making something for each family “basket” who we exchange gifts with and my 8-yr-old doesn’t have anything. . .yet. . .think I’ll show him this tmrw! Maybe his sisters will help too…. 🙂 Love your patience with the crafting with kids Meg!

Heather G. - YAY for more wells!! And yay for that cute ornament 🙂

Tiffany - Your girls are so pretty, They are really good crafters, these turned keep cute, keep em coming!

Christina - Nice craft! I love making christmas ornaments too! It can be so creative! I read your blog a lot lately (only discovered it 3 months ago!!). Some of you ideas are really great! Greetings from Europe 🙂

andrea - Oh Yeah! I saw some of these balls at hobby lobby & almost got some ’cause I thought we would find something to do with them. But I didn’t want to do anything too intense. These are perfect.

Tracy Fisher - Those ornaments are so HAPPY! Love them. And I needed that verse today after a moment of tears. I know God knows what He is doing with me… but once in awhile I’d love a heads up!
Tracy

Sarah Wolfe - This one looks fun. May have to try it this year. Since I have all boys, I may look for some embellishments that are more masculine. But I guess if I don’t find any, they could give them to the girls in their life 🙂

Christy - Oh I love that project! Thanks for the great idea 🙂

Kerry - Kid Giddy - Although it’s a little work to get the ribbon all the way through the center, it held on so much better to have a knot at the bottom. We made so many while my girls were in Montessori school, as it’s a great fine motor skill!

Kimber-Leigh - oh, my kiddos would love this project. makes me wish i hadn’t gotten rid of my 1983743987 prima flowers a while back. 🙂

Alicia @ La Famille - so cute!! my boys are not excited about craft day today…what’s their problem??!! 🙂

Kerry - My girls are going to LOVE this Craft!!

Vonda - Love the ornament-love the glitter!!! My daughter would love these!:)

Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode - Cutest ornaments ever! I agree…being perfect is definitely overrated!

Rebecca W - super cute ornament…looks easy too. 🙂

Terrie - Love these!
To be honest with you…I get all nervous and clammy when I click on your Christmas crafts…
Cause I LOVE them all and want to do them…but have NO time to do them this year!
I’ve been a crafting fool in the craft room…
But, I’ll just ‘pin’ the idea and add it to my list for next year!
I did several of your crafts last year…made getting out decorations fun this year!
