every year i get one ornament for each of my kids.
the thought was that when they leave the house they could use them on their own tree.
when they were little i liked picking out ornaments that matched a big milestone that year like a bicycle when they learned to ride, a shoe ornament when they learned to walk, piano for the first year of piano, etc.
now they are older and all their ornaments would be sports related and we have enough of those by now.
so i was so happy to get Lisa Leonard’s new ornaments for 2013.

they are simple and sweet…. a classic christmas ornament.
i love them.
that stamped font is still my favorite!
and now one thing is checked off my christmas To Do List.

I let my kids pick an ornament every year. A couple nights ago my 4yo girlie picked a fuschia glittered reindeer with a feather boa. She’s 4 and she’s already cooler than me. 😉
Renee - my mom did this for us too!! and i got married and we had our very own first christmas tree. and it was SO fun to have a box of special ornaments. it is fun to pull them out every year and think “oh this is from that year i played basketball… this is from the year i graduated high school… etc.” This is my first daughter’s first christmas and I plan to start the same tradition. Maybe I’ll use these Lisa Leonard ones 🙂 yay!! thanks!

Julie - I do that for my children too – I am sure that one day when they move out, they will cringe at some of the ornaments they picked though.

Iris - My parents still get us each an ornament every year and I’m 36. We do the same for our kids too. They get them in a mini stocking on Dec 26th with other little goodies. I went to the website to order ours bc I just love them. The letters I need are out of stock

Laura Kelley - My mom did the same thing for me and one of my wedding gifts was all my ornaments wrapped up. I now do this for my littles.
Southern Gal - I love the ornaments. I did the same thing for my children and bought them ornaments each year. My older two are grown and moved out. Guess what? They left the ornaments. I still buy for the 11yo, so my tree is packed full. Maybe one day they will take them home. 😉
