inside that little clear bell is a tiny plastic deer…with snow….sweet.

having gotten a cold (that i think is nearly gone) and leaving town for thanksgiving
AND having started a new business this year….
christmas is feeling a little less fancy this year.
but i hope that changes.

i am getting so close to finishing up with my picture editing.
that is so exciting to me.
because when i am done…i can make christmas crafts…and a gingerbread house…and wrap presents
and make cookies…and put glitter on stuff.
almost there.

Shirley - That is the exact Santa mug I had as a kid…and I still have it. He used to have a little green “emerald” for his eye!

Christina - That Santa looks exactly like one I just saw on another blog tonight. Weird. It was All a Flutter.

jeanne - The ornaments are so fun!!! You got amazing prices!! I will close my shop on December 13 so I can really enjoy the rest of the month. We have some fun things planned and good friends we are getting together with.

mel - Your thrift store is AWESOME!!!! Love the vintage ornaments & the santa mugs. so fun!

robin bird - now that is a score to envy! my vintage decorating friends would drool over these and be very impressed with your keen eye for the best deal!
p.s. i am still getting many, many hits a day from your link to my blog. it really is fun to be so popular 😉 thanks sweetie xo

Laura Phelps - we had the SAME MUG…we filled it with milk and left it for Santa. I want to cry…you just brought me back many, many years…will have to show this to my sisters!

Jemm - These are so freaking cool! Lucky find.

Stephanie Howell - i have the santa mugs too! got a full set at the fort hood thrift shop last year. 😉

Sarah @ Clover Lane - you find the best things! no fair!

tami reed - I love vintage things so fun, i heart thrift stores!

aubrey - I so want to go to the thrift store now–even though ours isn’t as good because it gets picked over.
Can’twait to see all the fun crafts you make–I still vivdly remember last year’s because I was so impressed (and immediately wished I was way better at getting crafts done). How do you get so much done with five kids? I guess it helps when none are nursing babies or toddlers. 🙂

jenn - LUUUUUUUUV the mugs! We drank egg nog from some just like that every Christmas Eve with my grandmother! So fun!

jennifer - I have that same little santa ornament with the sequin? pants! There is a matching Mrs. santa as well!

Melanie - The ornaments are so cute. You did score with that shopping trip. I am not even putting up Christmas decorations since we just moved in our house 3 weeks ago. Moving 800 miles from your home will make you a scrooge:) My husband said I was exempt this year:) WOO HOO!

Elizabeth McDonald - My mom has hundreds of those “vintage” ornaments..!! all with the boxes!! except to her they aren’t “vintage”..they are just well loved!

Cori - I love the Santa Mugs!! My grandmom had them also. Such a warm and fuzzy feeling every time I see them.

Kristy - love, love, love all your finds!!!! specially the ornaments :O)

Romantic bed and breakfasts - It is an occasion of joy, pleasure and happiness. It is an occasion of spreading smile and cheer on everyone face. The fall and discounted prices are the symbol of spreading satisfaction and relieve to the customers to join and celebrate the happiness together.

susie whyte - …and then you went and changed your header. gasp.
just. a. little. more. Christmas. to. your. page. 🙂
ha ha.

susie whyte - you are a magnet for good finds. i think you have an inside source. somebody calls you when that stuff comes in, huh? you can tell the truth. i CAN handle it. wish i had that inside tip…though i am thoroughly enjoying my $2 chair from there. ha ha.
did you put the stuff in the paper sacks there or just in a cart?? i think things come up cheaper without using the sack. there are some swindlers at the thrift store, that’s for sure. 🙂
i NEED you to hurry up with the photo editing. i watched ELF yesterday and i am still not in the Christmas mood. i think the only thing that will help is if you get after posting all of the wonderful Christmas decor photos that i know you are aching to post. the ones up above are a great start. i tried looking at last year’s, but it’s just not the same. come on meg. get after it. you are depriving us of Christmas spirit. all of mankind is depending on YOU!!!no pressure. 🙂

jenjen - That is so cute! You find the best treasures! I hope you are having a good week!

Heather - That tiny deer bell is so great! And those Shiny Bright ornaments…I loooove the colors. I love a good thrifting trip!!

jennifer - You totally scored!
Love the mugs!
Our house is definitely less fancy this year. We’re packing to move, so the thought of unpacking all the Christmas decorations is just too overwhelming for me. Very strange. I’ve never not decorated before…

Becca Parker - I’m soooo jealous, my mom has a box of beautiful old ornaments that I just know I could accidently pack in my suitcase.

Cate O'Malley - awesome finds! would love to find vintage ornaments, but no dice here, unfortunately; lack of good thrift stores doesn’t help, so in the meantime, I can live vicariously through you. 🙂

Penny - Great finds, lucky you! Many remind me of ones my mom had from her mother. So many are gone now. I think I am going to ask my mom for my favorite, an angel. I would love to see it on my tree. Your post makes me want to run out and find some Santa mugs. How cool!!

Joni - GARSH…what a HAUL! Oh. To find Shiny Brites IN THEIR BOXES! Wowsers…you are one lucky thrifter…Santas are all cute, too, what fun!
XOXO
Joni

adrienne - the bell is precious

The Countess of Nassau County - The Santa mugs!!! I want them!!! I grew up with them, my Mom still has them.
Point blank, how much you want for ’em!!!

No.17CherryTreeLane - jealous.

diane reeves - I love the Shiny Brite ornaments! What a great score.

Jocelyn Stott - Wow – GREAT finds! Nice work!!! When I was young, my Mom would always take me with her and her friends to go thrift shopping and I haaaaaaated it. However, life likes to remind us of such behavior when it makes us exactly like them! I LOVE checking out thrift shops now and have had some great finds.

Allison - I’m with you….so much has happened to me this year (some huge life-changing things) that i am trying to muster up some Christmas spirit for my two little boys. Your photos of those awesome vintage ornaments have sparked a little Christmas spirit in me. I loooooove the glass balls with the stars on them. I’m heading to the antique mall to find some cool ornaments tomorrow. Thanks for inspiring me. You always do!

Christy Henderson - Awesome finds!! Love the vintage santas !!
